I’ve loved every book I’ve read from Jarod Roselló, and this was no exception! Book 2 in the Super Magic Boy series, but young readers can read it as a standalone. I love the color-coded speech bubbles for young GN readers! Super Magic Boy’s adventures are silly and delightfully weird, and just unexpected enough to keep readers surprised! I will definitely be adding some copies to our library’s shelves.

This is a fun book for kids who are starting to read on their own. It's quite colorful and the text bubles are the same color as the characters. It's a fun adventure!

This book was ridiculous and fun and clearly straight out of the imagination of an elementary aged boy (or an adult who has luckily never grown out of having the imagination of a little boy!) I got an advanced e-copy from NetGalley and I can't wait for it to be published for real so my 7-year-old can enjoy it :-)

The second book in Rosello's series builds from the first and offers readers a chance to come along for more adventures. This one begins because Hugo does not have a gift for his mom on her birthday. Hugo tells Dino she likes "weird rocks" and they set off for outer space to get some. One crash landing later, they meet Space Tiger and help him save their planet. Space Tiger then helps them get back to Earth with a birthday gift in hand. The story ends with Space Tiger visiting Hugo on Earth.
Amusing adventures with plenty of ridiculous action to hold lower elementary students interest. The pictures are simply drawn but capture the story well.

This was a super cute graphic novel and the illustrations and story were super fun. Hugo just wants to get a present for his mami’s birthday and he has to go to space to get it. This is perfect for young readers and kids who love cats.

Thanks to Random House Graphic and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

This cute graphic novel is aimed at 6-8 year olds. The simple vocabulary and color coded speech bubbles are ideal for young readers. The simplistic drawings resemble a child's artr work and designed to appeal to youngsters. Unfortunately the story is disjointed. The three chapters have different stories that are loosely connected. As an adult who loves picture books and graphics, I was underwhelmed. However, many other reviewers who have shared this book with kids say that the youngsters loved it.

This was adorable!! I picked it up to read with my 3rd grader, who is not a big reader but will do books with cats in it. Oh man, I think we have read this book 4 times in the past week so far. She just laughs out loud at so many parts throughout the story, I am hoping to get more in the series and get her hooked. I feel this was a great book for those who are iffy readers, someone who just wants a fun read, and just family fun.

I loved this story! I also really liked how the book told you what age range this book is appropriate for.

Things I did not understand: the clues were not relevant to the mission (lol)

Thank you to NetGalley, Jarod Rosello, and Random House Children's | Random House Graphic for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader's Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest opinion/review.

Super Magic Boy: I am a Space Tiger is a fun and superb graphic book with a lot of imagination to consider. I recommend you to read this with your kids.

I Am A Space Tiger is about a boy who realizes it’s his mom’s birthday. Wanting to get her a present, he travels to another planet with his dinosaur. He finds a mystery awaiting though and transforms into a space tiger to solve the mystery and find a present.

My kids enjoyed this book and the illustrations and classified it as “pretty good”. The ending felt rushed and confusing, almost as if it was a different story that didn’t fully connect.

This book was super cute. It will be a super fun read for the kids. I cannot wait to share this with my own child.

Hugo and his best friend Dino are about to have an adventure that is out of this world. They are on a mission to find Mami the best birthday present ever. A weird rock! Mami loves weird rocks, and outer space is full of weird rocks! So off they go. And along the way, they meet a real authentic space tiger!

I read this one with my seven-year-old and he loved it. We took turns voicing the different characters and pointing out the silliest parts of each panel. We received this advanced reader copy and so read it on our tablet, but would also very much enjoy coming back to Hugo and Dino’s adventures in physical books if the artwork remains so vibrant and unique. My son’s favorite part was the sound effects panels when Dino is driving recklessly through space, before and after they land on the planet that is Space Tiger’s home.

This book can be read as a standalone but after reading it and looking into the author, I realized there are multiple Super Magic Boy adventures. My kid and I will be reading the others soon because this one was a cute, funny quick read that we both enjoyed.

Super Magic Boy: I am a Space Tiger is an excellent graphic novel for the younger readers. The story is fun and energetic; even leaving earth in search of a perfect gift.

What I like best is that it’s fun to use the illustrations as a starter point for youngsters to insert their own thoughts. I think it’s important for children to expand stories in their own creative ways.

Author Jarod Roselló has given us a wacky story that will be a favorite with young readers or pre-readers.

A quick and lighthearted read. I loved that it was not one dimensional and it was very creative. There was not too many words so it is great book for younger readers. The concept was so endearing and a great recommendation to every child. I also loved that there was Spanish used in parts. It was a very goofy but cute book that I will highly recommend.

This cute graphic novel was a little long but it was mostly pictures. Kids will like it because it feels like nonstop action from start to finish. Hugo is a kid with an emergency: he needs a birthday gift ASAP. Luckily, he makes to the planet of Space Tigers, makes some new friends, and gets the help he needs. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

This would be a great intro to graphic novels for younger elementary school aged kids! Slightly longer than some other graphic novels aimed at that age group, this would be a great transition into longer graphic novels.

The creative energy in this book is off the charts. Absolutely fell in love with the art style and characters. A true all-ages book that should be loved by children and adults alike.

I asked for an ARC for this because I wanted to see if it would be worth purchasing the series for my library. On a personal level, this was not for me. It was a little too chaotic and busy for me to enjoy. That being said, I can see young children just getting into comics and graphic novels really enjoying this and the first book. A few branches within my system have the first book and I'm sure will be ordering the second so while I won't be ordering this for my library, I will definitely recommend it to young readers.
