Such a good book. I loved the dynamic between the characters and their relationship. The spice was spicing and all that I needed from this book!
A super fun and spicy read! The perfect sort of palette cleanser in between my hefty fantasy series, and the sort of book you totally fly through in one sitting.
I loved Corinne, her confidence and how she handled herself as well her relationship of course with Nikolai (swoon btw) who was the perfect blend of dominating and caring. I totally loved the communication through the whole book, especially with some of the spicier scenes as it was nice as a reader to see the characters having conversations about boundaries and expectations to make it more healthy and realistic!
The only thing I didn't love was that the Pleasure Protocol was written in third person which is a pet peeve of mine, I did however know this going into it so it didn't detract from the book too much.
Personally really enjoyed the spice. I am a big fan of “Lots of spice little plot” but this seemed to be a title that had both available. I enjoyed the build up and bread down durning every turn of the book. It was not exactly my absolute favorite but it was a book I would recommend so 3.5 stars for me! Good job!
I enjoyed this book. If you are looking for the spice this one is for you. What I am most impressed with is how it was written by two authors and the sections flowed effortlessly, you could have told me it was written by one person and I would have believed you because of how the writing styles matched so well. It was a fun read if you are looking for something spicy and men should take some notes
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Going into this read I one thing i was expecting the most, was spice.
And let me tell you spice? It was given, and then some. Definitely
5/5 regarding spice.
Loved these two main characters, Nikolai is very dominant but at the same time so very caring and thoughtful. Corinne? Her confidence is of the charts. The tension between the two absolutely amazing. I would not mind this being a movie😂😏
Now I’m always iffy about reading books that are written by multiple authors. But @darcy.romaine.writes and @katalex_author really are a match made in heaven! The story is written beautifully!!
Now I had some trouble getting into the book at first and connecting to the characters, as it is written in third person pov. I personally feel like a dual pov would have been a perfect fit for this book. This also because both of them struggle with their growing feelings.
In my opinion a dual pov could have allowed more detail and depth to the characters.
My thoughts: LADIES! have your roses charged and ready because this is one steamy toe curling spicy book! Men, take notes! If you are pro-let people do whatever they want (as in whatever and that includes sex work) and love a spoiling sexy russian billionaire, this is for you. Nikolai is rich and time means money, he can’t make time sorting through love interests that love him for him and not his money, so he uses an escort service. He has a rule: Don’t fall in love. Corrine instills that same rule for her line of work, no man likes sharing her and that won’t stop her from enjoying her career choice. I loved their dynamic, their chemistry was like fireworks on 4th of July. and who wouldn’t love an attentive, rich, generous (in every way😉) man who knows what he wants and is clear about it. I loved their thorough communication and how they check in with each other because lots of the things they did got intense. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a spicy romance 🥰
While the spicy parts are hot the weird point of view makes it hard to get into the story. It’s written in third person but there’s hints of first first in it. This would have been better as a dual pov or from the pov of the one who falls in love. So much potential wasted
This was an okay read, but there wasn't much that stood out about it. I think if it had been in the first person POV, it would have been easier to connect with the characters and get inside their heads.
The Pleasure Protocol by Darcy Romaine and Kat Alexander is a spicy one! The story follows Nikolai Zaitsev, a tech billionaire who’s sworn off love and thus uses an escort service for all his needs. That is, until he meets Corinne. Lots of entertaining spice content but check trigger warnings given at the beginning just in case!
Unlike most erotic novels this does have somewhat of a plot but not an incredible amount of development throughout. If you are specifically into these types of scenes I think it would be enjoyable, but I found it repetitive after about half way through the book. However, I am impressed that this was written by two authors because theirs voices are seamless. If looking for a spicy novel in the future I will definitely consider these authors.
