Thank you so much for letting me read this graphic novel. I really liked the artstyle. The story was good too even though not much happening.
I’m such a sucker for a red string of fate story and this one is delivering! Age gap meets brothers best friend meets fated pair in this beautifully illustrated and written manhwa. The story is compelling and well paced, the art is beautiful, and it had enough intrigue that I am itching to continue it after just one volume! I definitely recommend this one for all manhwa lovers :)
I enjoyed the plot and art of this book. The characters are endearing, the emotions are well portrayed and the story is original. However, I had difficulty understanding the timeline and the back-and-forth between different periods. I also was a bit uncomfortable with the relationship between the main character and the two brothers (the rivalry about the object of their love). Overall, I did enjoy this book and would recommend it. It was an easy read.
It felt like I was reading the same three sentences again and again. So little happened. So much potential, but it left me wanting more depth and a better plot.
This manga was absolutely wonderful and I CANNOT wait for the next volume. The idea of a ring appearing when you find the love of your life is a cool concept until your ring shows up for your best friends brother. Oh, and you happen to be in love with your best friend. Ohhh and you can’t sleep unless you’re with the person you share a ring with. The art is beautiful and the story had me hooked from the beginning. Read this- you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you NetGalley for this chance.. I thought this was so cute i really enjoyed the artwork and the storyline definitely hope there is more to the volumes.
The 'Red String of Fate' is one of my favorite tropes, particularly when it comes to fanfiction, so I had high hopes for this manhwa. I don't feel like I was disappointed much at all -- there was a good amount of heartache and parts where I found my heart soaring. However, I will say that if you're not a fan of age gap in fiction, you should avoid reading this one as the MC is at least 8 years younger than his love interest.
However I did enjoy my time spent reading this and I'm looking forward to reading the next volume shortly!
This was a beautifully paced story with an interesting plot. The way red 'rings' appear on the fingers (very similar to the red string that connects soulmates in some cultures) dictates your life. If you are touching each other, you can sleep, but if you're not you end up exhausted and sick.
I really enjoyed that the authors also discussed what happens when it goes wrong (albeit through news headlines but it was great food for thought).
Of course, this story is a huge barrel of unrequited love - no one is in love with the right person! I honestly can't wait for the next book because I'm hoping the protagonist realises what's right in front of him!
Crying into my hands, THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD START! I LOVE the way this feels so innocent but also OMINOUS. I'm so ready to start kicking my feet, screaming, and yelling at the characters because yes, I've adopted Wooseo and he's my child now and DESERVES the best partner ever. AHHHH, I need MORE!
I can discriped this book with one word.
Cute!!!
Cute storyline
Cute characters
Cute Everything
Ich fand den Manga jetzt nicht schlecht aber von den Socken gehauen hat er mich leider nicht. Der Manga ist einfach nicht meins gewesen.
Simply put I need more of this romance. The drama, the love, the design. It's well put together and I really enjoyed it.
"Tied to You" is a play on the red string of fate as the two main characters interact as adults, only to have a red ring appear on each of their hands as a sign of their relationship. It has a trope that I usually am not into, but I am curious so I'll continue reading the series.
Ahhhh!! I loved this so much.
In Tied to You, we follow Wooseo who is desperately in love with his best friend Jiseok. But things take a turn when he bumps into Jiseok’s older brother Jigeon, locking in their red thread to each other.
It’s rare for this to have a red thread, but once it’s lock in they can’t get a good nights sleep without being with each other. And now both Wooseo and Jigeon are suffer from insomnia. At least until Jigeon offers a solution for them both.
Will it help? Or will it make feelings complicated for all parties involved?
I really enjoyed this book and I'm really excited to read the next one to see where the story goes.
Wooseo Shin wasn't sure he believed in the red thread until a ring of red thread appears around his finger! This ring means the person has met their soulmate. Now neither can fall asleep without the other.
Wooseo, has been crushing on his bff Jiseok Kang forever and doesn't want to tell him what's going on. Because as fate would have it, the person with Wooseo’s matching ring is Jigeon Kang―Jiseok’s older brother!
Jigeon proposes that they start sharing a bed to combat their joint insomnia and Wooseo reluctantly accepts. But things are going to get messy quickly with these three living together and hiding things from each other.
*SPOILERS*
This one feels like a love triangle in the making. Some people probably won't like the 7 year age gap or that Wooseo has grown up around Jigeon, who tutored him and kinda saw him as a brother. Also Jigeon is kinda stalker-ish. But Wooseo is so obsessed with Jiseok and tried to kiss him when he was asleep. They are both pretty messed up. Poor Jiseok is being kept in the dark and is totally clueless. It's a mess but I'm here for it.
I only gave it four stars though because despite the nice art and interesting story, it was still kinda hard to tell the characters apart. And there were a couple of times I had to reread a section because the translation seemed confusing.
But I'm ready for the next volume to see where this drama goes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Yen Press and Netgalley for my ARC copy.
If potential red flags were a series, I suspect this will fulfill its promises.
Wooseo Shin has been in love with his best friend Jiseok for a long time and even though he knows it's unrequited, he still yearns to be at Jiseok's side. In this world soulmates exist. It's said if you meet your soulmate, you'll never get a night's sleep unless you're in your soulmates arms. In this world Wooseo suddenly discovers that Jiseok's brother, Jigeon, is his soulmate. After trying to deny it, Wooseo and Jigeon work out a deal. They will meet up periodically just to sleep and Jiseok never has to know.
Only, it's a little more complicated than that, but unbeknownst to Wooseo, Jigeon has been in love with *him* for years now. Now Jigeon is determined to change Wooseo's heart by any means necessary and Jiseok suddenly seems a lot more interested. There's also the matter of Jigeon's many jilted lovers that might become an issue.
If you are a fan of drama, hot guys, love triangles, and toxic relationships you'll probably enjoy this series. Already in volume 1, the story seems to be headed to a dark place. The art is really great and consistent. I like Wooseo so far and even though he's definitely a red flag kind of guy, I like Jigeon. I'm really not a fan of love triangles in general and the first volume hints heavily that there will be one.
Shin Wooseo lives in a world where after you turn 20, a ring will appear within 24 hours of coming into contact with your soulmate. Wooseo has had a crush on his best friend, Jiseok, since high school, but knows nothing will develop romantically between them. Jiseok's older brother, Jigeon, happens to be home one night while Wooseo is visiting and the next day Wooseo has a ring around his finger! Wooseo struggles between his feelings for Jiseok and his building feelings for Jigeon. It doesn't help that they look so much a like!
I enjoyed reading the first part of this web series and look forward to where this story is heading. Like many Korean webcomics, I feel like Wooseo is a little slow to understand his feelings and has trouble letting go of the past. Kang Jigeon, the love interest is... interesting. Many of his actions come off as kind of creepy and stalkerish, but I am here for it. Hopefully these two can find their HEA.
oh wow. let’s see we got a 7 year age gap, the older guy practically being a parent for the younger guy, the older guy saying the younger guy can just pretend that the older guy is the older’s guy’s brother, who he’s in love with, the older guy saying he viewed the younger as a brother. then assault too??? kissing someone when they’re asleep and you’re not together??? i wanted so badly to enjoy this but each time i was starting to like it again i was hit with ‘7 year age gap and he liked him while the other was a minor and he an adult.’ really just kept getting worse and worse
4/5 - Thank you Yen Press and NetGalley for the ARC ebook! And THANK YOU for not having a watermark on your ARC that was overly aggressive and distracting.
A very cute romantical drama webcomic. I finished this first published volume and instantly went and read the rest of the story. The watermarks were annoying, sure, but nowhere near as obvious or debilitating as on others I've seen. I also was confused by some of the translations, but thankfully I know enough about Korean culture and honorifics to be able to interpret the intended meaning. Would definitely recommend to anyone in search of a light, non-toxic BL!
Tied to You, Vol. 1 dives into a gripping blend of romance and suspense, masterfully weaving its narrative around a captivating premise. The story introduces us to a complex relationship marked by emotional turmoil and intriguing twists. The characters are well-developed, with their personal struggles and growth being a highlight of the volume. The art style complements the tone perfectly, with expressive illustrations that enhance the dramatic tension and intimate moments.
