It's been so long since I read a manga or manhwa and this MM romance is so cute! I need more ASAP.
This fated "ring" is such an interesting twist from the usual fated mate, omegaverse, etc. tropes and I have to say I am so intrigued! This double unrequited love thing is eating me up and I'm so excited for future books. Knowing that it's a manhwa though I'm sure there will be some major plot twists. It's giving forced proximity, puppy love, unrequited love, best friend's brother. All my favourite tropes in one go ;) I feel like there must be some hidden motives or history on the side of Jigeon though since he has obviously known about their connection for longer... and Wooseo is so... innocent? Naive? Just so kind and pure and I hope that stays! Waiting (im)patiently for the rest of the series to come out!

I had already read some stories about the red thread legend, so I was somewhat reluctant to read this one because they all share a lot of similarities. However, this was an original one with lots of familiar elements but also new ideas! Or at least ideas I haven't seen somewhere else. Not to mention, the art is gorgeous, clean, and reflects the atmosphere of the story perfectly.
Starting with the script, I found it very solid, a strong base for a strong story and loveable characters. I couldn't stop reading because I still wanted to know what would happen to these two, to Jiseok, and how everything would evolve. I have to say, although idealistic at some points, it was a humane story about love and bonds.
There were some details I wasn't as pleased with, however. Jigeon is definitely not my cup of tea when it comes to characters, and although there is more than meets the eye, there is something about his behavior that doesn't sit well with me. There were times when I wanted to understand why someone like him would be fated to be with Wooseo, who has that golden retriever kind of energy. It's another reason to read the next volume, though!
In short, it's a cute story that makes you think about the meaning of fate, what it entails, with a solid script, human characters, and gorgeous art. Even though I wasn't a fan of Jigeon, I still want to see more of his character because of the development he shows at the end of this volume. Although I usually read more... hard fantasy? instead of magical realism, consider me a fan already!

THIS WAS AMAZING!!! I can't wait to read the next one. I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time!!! The artwork was great and the banter was god tier. A truly fantastic read!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!!!

I received Tied to You as a free ARC copy through NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review, and I absolutely loved it. This manga blends a slight magical element into an otherwise normal world, and it works so well.
The magical concept of the red knot ring was so fascinating. It’s a rare thing in the story, almost like a fable, but when it happens it completely changes your life. You have to be with that person, or you can’t sleep or function. It added so much tension and made the romance even more gripping.
The story follows Wooseo, a college student who is secretly in love with his best friend Jiseok, and Jiseok’s older brother Jigeon. Wooseo ends up being ring-marked to Jigeon, which creates a lot of emotional conflict. He has to figure out how to let go of his feelings for Jiseok while also starting to feel the peace and rest that comes with being tied to his soulmate. The age gap between Wooseo and Jigeon added an interesting layer to the story, especially since Wooseo is still in college and Jigeon is a CEO.
The relationship dynamics were so well written. I could really feel Wooseo’s struggle as he tried to move forward and let himself love Jigeon. The story was heartfelt, emotional, and had just the right amount of drama.
The artwork was beautiful and the pacing was perfect for a manga. I couldn’t put it down, and I definitely want to read the rest of the series. I’m giving Tied to You a solid 5 out of 5. If you like romance manga with a unique twist, you’ll love this one.

The art style is really cute! I don’t usually go for these kind of plots (love triangle, little communication) but this caught my attention! I also appreciate that it is (to my knowledge) shounen-ai rather than yaoi. I would like to continue reading this story.

I always LOVE soulmates, pining and unrequited love, so this was right up my alley!
The little twist of how they have to sleep next to each other was a really good aspect. The tropes were so good: best friend's brother, age gap (like 5 years?), soulmate, love triangle. It was all around really good!
In case you're wondering, there is no smut or anything graphic in it :)

Tied to You by Chelliace (illus. WHAT) is a magical realism, contemporary Korean BL series. Wooseo Shin, a college student, is secretly in love with his best friend of the same age, Jiseok Kang, who cares about him as a bestie but is 100% straight. One day, Wooseo accidentally collides with Jigeon, Jiseok's older brother, and sets off a reaction that materializes his red ring (thread) of fate--tying Wooseo to Jigeon, much to Wooseo's shock. Unbeknownst to Wooseo, however, Jigeon has secrets of his own....
This series calls to mind very specific BL manga, so it may not be for everyone. The age gap between the romantic leads is about seven years, and Jigeon is a successful CEO who has known Wooseo since Wooseo was in high school (though their romantic relationship only begins when they are both legal adults), so there is a debatable power imbalance. While effort is made to secure reader sympathy for both male leads, some restructuring of the order of the chapters might make this more effective. As it is, the chemistry between Wooseo and Jiseok feels stronger than the "chemistry" between Wooseo and Jigeon, which may hint at a love triangle in Volume 2. There are also some instances of dubious consent (nothing beyond kissing), but the series hasn't progressed far enough to indicate how the creators will handle any more explicit content that may arise. That said, the sleep twist on the red thread of fat concept is an interesting touch.
Readalikes for this series includes: Junjo Romantica (Pure Romance) and Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi (The World's Greatest First Love) by Shungiku Nakamura, as well as the drama Advance Bravely. Another title that explores the red thread of fate concept is The Last Dragon of the East by Katrina Kwan.

Thank you so much for letting me read this graphic novel. I really liked the artstyle. The story was good too even though not much happening.

I’m such a sucker for a red string of fate story and this one is delivering! Age gap meets brothers best friend meets fated pair in this beautifully illustrated and written manhwa. The story is compelling and well paced, the art is beautiful, and it had enough intrigue that I am itching to continue it after just one volume! I definitely recommend this one for all manhwa lovers :)

I enjoyed the plot and art of this book. The characters are endearing, the emotions are well portrayed and the story is original. However, I had difficulty understanding the timeline and the back-and-forth between different periods. I also was a bit uncomfortable with the relationship between the main character and the two brothers (the rivalry about the object of their love). Overall, I did enjoy this book and would recommend it. It was an easy read.

It felt like I was reading the same three sentences again and again. So little happened. So much potential, but it left me wanting more depth and a better plot.

This manga was absolutely wonderful and I CANNOT wait for the next volume. The idea of a ring appearing when you find the love of your life is a cool concept until your ring shows up for your best friends brother. Oh, and you happen to be in love with your best friend. Ohhh and you can’t sleep unless you’re with the person you share a ring with. The art is beautiful and the story had me hooked from the beginning. Read this- you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you NetGalley for this chance.. I thought this was so cute i really enjoyed the artwork and the storyline definitely hope there is more to the volumes.

The 'Red String of Fate' is one of my favorite tropes, particularly when it comes to fanfiction, so I had high hopes for this manhwa. I don't feel like I was disappointed much at all -- there was a good amount of heartache and parts where I found my heart soaring. However, I will say that if you're not a fan of age gap in fiction, you should avoid reading this one as the MC is at least 8 years younger than his love interest.
However I did enjoy my time spent reading this and I'm looking forward to reading the next volume shortly!

This was a beautifully paced story with an interesting plot. The way red 'rings' appear on the fingers (very similar to the red string that connects soulmates in some cultures) dictates your life. If you are touching each other, you can sleep, but if you're not you end up exhausted and sick.
I really enjoyed that the authors also discussed what happens when it goes wrong (albeit through news headlines but it was great food for thought).
Of course, this story is a huge barrel of unrequited love - no one is in love with the right person! I honestly can't wait for the next book because I'm hoping the protagonist realises what's right in front of him!

Crying into my hands, THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD START! I LOVE the way this feels so innocent but also OMINOUS. I'm so ready to start kicking my feet, screaming, and yelling at the characters because yes, I've adopted Wooseo and he's my child now and DESERVES the best partner ever. AHHHH, I need MORE!

I can discriped this book with one word.
Cute!!!
Cute storyline
Cute characters
Cute Everything

Ich fand den Manga jetzt nicht schlecht aber von den Socken gehauen hat er mich leider nicht. Der Manga ist einfach nicht meins gewesen.

Simply put I need more of this romance. The drama, the love, the design. It's well put together and I really enjoyed it.

"Tied to You" is a play on the red string of fate as the two main characters interact as adults, only to have a red ring appear on each of their hands as a sign of their relationship. It has a trope that I usually am not into, but I am curious so I'll continue reading the series.
