I loved this book and the tune Bring Me Sunshine from Morecambe and Wise was going through my head as I was reading it. It didn't take me very long to finish it. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This book was described as sunshine for the soul, and I couldn’t agree more! It made me feel happy. It made me want to reach out to those I love, and it made me wish that Book was longer.

When Gina's husband lets her down one too many times, she heads off to Greece by herself, to a place where she used to holiday as a teenager and where she met her first love - Nico. Befriended by Rosie and Deedee, the three women bond over cocktails, art classes and the desire to reinvigorate Gina's love life.
This was a fun story about rediscovering your zest for life. The Greek setting made a picturesque backdrop for the story.

Bring me sunshine is a lovely story about the power of friendships, finding yourself and how it is never to late to start again.
Loved the characters in this book particularly Gina who is an inspiration for anyone thinking of going on holiday on their own and who with the help of her new friends started to grow in confidence again and is someone who I am sure a lot of people reading this story will be able to relate to and also highlighted how important friends are in our lives.

Another lovely read by a truly talented author.
When Gina's husband lets her down again and says he can't make the holiday she has been working for as a cleaner for two years to save for, to a Greek Island that she used to visit as a child with her late mum Shirley, where she met her first love Nico, Gina throws caution to the wind and shocks Colin by going alone, leading to a trial separation.
She befriends two other solo travellers, wedding planner Rosie and adventurous widower DeeDee and three embark on the holiday of Gina's dreams, having fabulous adventures along the way.
Rosie and DeeDee convince Gina she should try and find her childhood sweetheart Nico, but will their search be successful, or will Gina fall for the sexy art teacher at the hotel.

1990, Kalosiros, Greece. A summer, fifteen-year old Gina will never forget, sunshine, sea, and the encounter of her first love: Colin. Sadly, after that summer, everything changes.
Now Gina in her late forties returns to the island, alone, her husband Colin decides to stay in England.
Back in Greece, the place brings all the memories of her mom, the apartment complex where they used to stay and Nico, the boy she loved.
Upon encountering the two women who will later be her best friends they encourage Gina to pursuit an art class bringing her old passion to life.
When Gina tells her friends the sad story of that summer they decide to search for her old paramour. The hunt for him is not easy, they enquire everyone who may know a Nico, but to no avail.
Could a first love be the answer to happiness?
I read this book while on vacation at the beach. It’s the perfect summer read for you guys in the northern hemisphere, with a story full of sun, sea, Greek food and love, past and present.

Chick lit at its best! I love Alex Brown's books and this was another cracker. A fabulous summer read and women 40 and above will most definitely relate!!
A failing relationship, new friendships and trying to find previous love are all issues for Gina to cope with when she takes herself for a holiday in the summer sun of a Greek Island. Her ups and downs are brilliantly described in this book and I hope there is a second book as I'd love to read more about her and the friendships that she formed.

More sunshine can be sought from this novel by Alex Brown. All the way to Greece with Gina, who has left her husband of twenty seven years behind. Now is the time to find herself and also maybe, perhaps the man she really was in love with, Nico.
Travelling alone, she meets new people, strikes up friendships and starts to discover what she may have been missing for the last twenty seven years. There is sandy beaches, art classes, cocktails, sunshine and shopping. But there is also that mission to looks for Gina’s first love. Can it ever be found? And is it ever the same? Gina is prepared to take that chance.
Think Shirley Valentine and you won’t go far wrong with this book, great strong female friendships forged and the reminder that we should not just put up with something.
A refreshing read for the Summer.

A delicious summer read. Shirley Valentine x Mama Mia. A heartwarming tale of friendship and discovery.
It was good to read a story of this kind with the lead female character being in her 50s. I found it more relatable.
Add this to your summer reading collection, and be whisked off to a beautiful Greek Island.

This is the second book about Greece that I have recently read and just based on the descriptions this one made me want to run away to Greece.
It was a page turner from the beginning. It was fun to see Gina go to Greece despite her husband deciding not to go. He thought she shouldn't go either but I am glad she went alone. She had a lot of fun , made some once in a lifetime friends and was able to soul search. The women she met were also there alone, they became the best of friends and supported one another on this amazing journey. The way that the story ended was heart warming and not how I expected it to end. It's a book that many will enjoy!
