Someone wants it all and when they have it, they will do anything to keep it at any cost.

There is someone out for revenge and when they feel the time is right, they go for it.

They don't take any prisoners. Those who suffer in the process, are considered collateral damage.

It's you against the world, because nobody believes you. When you need them the most, there is always that one friend who will have your back.

I felt terribly sorry for Emmerson and I disliked Shep very much. He really is one selfish so and so.

The author created a great story I enjoyed reading very much. I was very pleased that, in the end, everybody got what they deserved. 5 stars

Thank you

First, I love the really creepy cover! There are two women, one is the ex wife, and one is the girlfriend. They are both wanting the perfect life, husband, and son. Who will get it, and how far will they go?

I found this to be a slow burner but enjoyable once it got going. I wasn't sure who to trust, if any of them. The ending was satisfying and it's an author I'd be keen to read more of in future.

Actually OBSESSED?! I didn't know what the expect going into this one, but I really loved reading the story unfold and I didn't see the end coming at all. The book follows the story of Emmy, who is accused of killing her newborn baby and her fight to get her child back, which means a nice feud with her ex husbands new girl. However, they both are in for a major surprise at the end....and I'll leave it at that. You NEED to read it Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC :)

Loved the plot as well as the suspense. I had to know who did it and why. Love being suprised and this one certainly did it for me.

This book does have trigger warnings for mental illness because the mother spends time in a mental institution. The story appears simple at first. A mother wants her child back from her husband and his new girlfriend but in reality the story is anything but simple. Many plots twist together into a thrilling book. It is told from Emerson (the mother) and Talia (the girlfriend) and I really enjoyed the dual POV. The author will keep you guessing.

I really loved this book. I haven’t read anything by this author before but I can say for certain I’ll be on the look out for more by Cara Reinard.
This book has lots of twists and turns and it really was a thrill ride that had me gripped from the beginning.

This book had so many twists and turns!
At first, I found both FMCs to be annoying and unlikable. I felt like Emmerson kept making the wrong choices while she was trying to make changes to get her son back.
I couldn't get behind any of what Talia was trying to do even though it seemed like she wanted to keep Leo safe.
I liked that just when you thought maybe they could work together to save Leo, Talia stays the villain. It was a really good twist!
Overall, this book kept me on my toes, and I kept wanting to see what happened next!

This is the first book that I have read by this author. I’ll be keeping my eye out for more in the future. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read psychological thrillers.

This psychological thriller is addictive & gripping.

I immediately sided with Emerson. I’ve come to think that my pick for favorite character is because my mind goes to the first person’s point of view I get. However, I won’t spoil if I was right to trust my instinct or not. I’ll leave that for you to find out when you read this! And it’s a good one!!

Thank you, Cara Reinard, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

This domestic thriller had lots of drama and suspense, which made it very enjoyable. The story develops through dual POVs - Emerson who is the mom of Leo and his deceased sister Thea as well the ex-wife to Shep, and Talia, Shep's new live-in girlfriend who has taken to Leo like he is her own. Talia has been after Shep since before Emerson was out of the picture. Can Talia be trusted? Can Emerson? Who has Leo's best interests at heart?

Despite a slight lull in the middle, I really enjoyed the plot and thought it was different from the typical domestic thrillers out there. There was great character development. I truly disliked Talia, but I was rooting for Emerson the entire way through the book. This book had a very solid ending, and the twists throughout the book were great. The twist at the end was jaw dropping!

I really enjoyed this one, the heartbreaking loss of a baby tears a family apart, leaving the mum needing to spend a year in a mental health facility and the dad to look after the older child, at only four Leo doesn’t really understand what’s going on, he knows that mummy is poorly, Thea is gone and daddy now has a new friend called Talia.

This is a multi POV thrilller which we all know is one of my favourite kinds, we have Emerson, who has just been released from a mental health facility and is going through the motions of being allowed supervised visits with her son Leo.

Talia is Sheps new girlfriend who has been there from the get go since the loss of baby Thea and now sees Leo has her child, to love and protect from everyone including Emerson and she will go to any lengths to make sure that she doesn’t get the contact she is so desperately craving.

It’s fast paced, gripping and utterly chilling because it just feels so real, like something that could so easily happen to any one.

It had me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages on my kindle so fast that I’m surprised I didn’t get friction burn,

I went through stages throughout the book of hating and loving both main characters for different reasons and I’ll be completely honest, I didn’t know which way the story was going to go, or even which way I WANTED the story to go and that’s a completely new feeling for me.

I am loving all the new psychological thrillers I am finding this year. Although after further investigation I can see Cara has a whole back list of stories for me to sink my teeth into!

The Wife at the Window was a pretty solid read for me. I definitely had the twist wrong in this one, and the twist is really what brought this one up from the 3-star that I was initially thinking.

My heart poured out to Emerson throughout this book. I thought Shep was an idiot. I wanted to punch Talia in the face every time there was a chapter about her. She was incredibly fake, vindictive and vile, which is everything the reader was supposed to feel about her, I think.

The writing was solid but I wish the author had given a more in-depth ending to the story. The ending felt lacking to me after all the build-up throughout the story. Overall, it's a good read.

I’ve read dozens of domestic thrillers, but this author was new to me and now I hope to read more. Each page kept me wanting to read more as I read it on a few flights I had last week. There were a couple twists that seemed a bit of a stretch but overall I enjoyed the book.

If you are looking for a new thriller to entertain you this summer, then make sure to pick up a copy of this book. Emerson is just released from the hospital that is associated with the prison. She was sent there after the death of her baby daughter, but she insists it wasn't her fault. Someone broke in and she did everything she could to protect her child. However, no one believes her story. Now released, she realizes that another woman. Talia has stepped into her role and is very much taking over the life Emerson is desperate to get back. Overall a great read.
