So many people say "natural" is good and better for you. Boy, are they wrong! This is a fun exploration of the darker side of Mother Nature. Dan Riskin's love of animals (bats in particular) shines through every page, and his delight make for a quick and enjoyable read. I would happily read or watch this man talk about bats for a long, long time.
The theme of the book is rather clunky. The book itself is organized into categories based on the seven deadly sins. In each, the author discusses animal behavior that (very loosely) falls into these. The sin-based structure didn't flow well for me (especially since many of them were a stretch), and it gave the book a scattered feel despite the clear organization. Otherwise, a lot of fun!
