My first read by author Lindsey Cord and it won't be my last!
Darcy, the most head strong character I've had the pleasure of reading goes up against Penn Murphy in a hilarious rom-com. I was transported to a small town where everyone indeed looks out for one another and bickers endlessly. The fun references to How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days gave me all the nostalgic 90's feels. The parallels between this storyline and Gilmore Girls was a favorite aspect of mine. Also if you are a fan of epilogue's like me, your going to LOVE this one.
Lindsey is a phenomenal author and I'm looking forward to getting lost in more of her books in the future!
Small town vibes - check

This book had a real feel good, cheesy vibe to it and I have to say- I’m absolutely here for it! If you’re a lover of Gilmore girls like me then you can totally appreciate this small, quirky town love story. I feel like the chemistry between Darcy and Penn could be felt from the pages, I was invested in their growth from the start. I thought this was a really nice read and I’m excited to see what else Lindsey produces!
I made it two chapters into this book and messaged the author to tell her I already loved it lol who by the way is the sweetest person ! From start to finish I enjoyed this book! I was lucky enough to be given the chance to read this as an ARC, if you love small town rom coms PLEASE read this when it releases on May 28th. If Gilmore Girls or How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a favorite of yours….READ THIS BOOK👏🏻
After a hilarious meet, Darcy realizes Penn is in her small town and sniffing around her dad’s hardware store that’s for sale, she’s not happy and knows there’s more to why he’s here. This book is set in an adorable town reminiscent of Stars Hollow with characters so lovable, nosey, and hilarious added with the town events that are adorable. Bound and determined Darcy sets to “Andie Anderson” Penn right out of this town if it’s the last thing she does. The scenes and dialogue in this book were my cup of coffee 😉☕️ and with no spoilers of course but that first bar scene 🤌🏻
Penn and Darcy were the ultimate rivals to lovers and it was so fun to read their story! I loved the small
Town setting and seeing these two butt heads and compete. This was a fun one! Also, the cover is stunning!
This was such a fun book to read. From the hilarious meet-cute and the introduction of sassy Darcy this story had me chuckling. Full of witty banter back and forth the characters just meshed. What big city boy wouldn’t fall in love with small town Aveline and it’s quirky residents. Thank you NetGalley for this free advanced copy. I am voluntarily leaving this review

This book gave all of the small town, romcom vibes!! I was immediately intrigued by this when the description mentioned Gilmore Girls x How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days (which are two of my favs).
There’s just something about a small town with a bunch of cute & fun festivals that makes you feel all warm inside. This was one of my first Lindsey books and I really enjoyed it! Darcy & Penn were quite the pair. From having a “you hit me with you car” moment to then transitioning into “how to loose a guy in 10 days” mindset made them such an interesting duo. I truly enjoyed the banter between these two.
Thank you NetGalley & Lindsey Cord for proving me the arc!!
Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing and author Lindsey Cord for this eARC.
A cute and fun small-town romance. If you love Gilmore Girls or How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days you will most certainly enjoy No Vacancy.
I really hated Darcy in the beginning. She came off as such a drama queen and I just wasn't here for it. However that didn't last long and I quickly came around and started really enjoying her character.
I liked Penn from the first page and think he was a great counter part to Darcy.
While at times a bit cringy and over the top, as a whole No Vacancy was super cute and definitely worth the read.
3.5 stars
Thank you NetGalley. Free book and now to review.
So unfortunately I just could not get into this book the characters aren’t likeable. Especially the MFC I really like to see myself in characters and I just saw a drama queen.
I like the calm and the peaceful romances this wasn’t one of them.
MMC just a carbon copy of some others I need more depth than this thanks for the book
Wholesome, Funny! Totally Gilmore Girls meets How to loose a guy in 10 days vibe!
Darcy is hilarious! The way Lindsey Cord has captured Darcy’s personality is incredible talent! I felt as if I was there with her, the jokes and humour were keeping me smiling all the way through! Penn Murphy really hit it off with the city slicker in small town! Aveline is a dream place to live for me, the added bonus of Green Gable quotes and theme are incredibly special as I’m a huge fan of this book too!
A great following to Tuck and Letties journey through No Vacancy too! RUN DONT walk!!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a charming, delightful, small town romance. I enjoyed it so much!
Another cute story in the town of Aveline!
Overall a good play on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days + small town Gilmore Girls vibes. I think I enjoyed Lettie and Tuck’s story better, but it could just be because I’m a sucker for second chance romance. I found Darcy to be a little bit annoying at times as a character and I felt like the pacing was a little off. For a while it felt like a slow burn but then absolutely sped through the last 1/3 of the book. Still was a cute book. Would read other works by this author.
I will be honest and say I did not realize this was the second book in the series before starting it but it didn't matter because I was swept away in the world of Aveline from the first sentence. Darcy had me laughing and cringing so many times, in the best way possible, that I had to physically get up and take a breath. Combined with Penn's fish out of water experiences, this small town enemies to lovers romance was a fun and easy read. If you want a light, low stakes read with a lot of heart and love for community and family this is the perfect book to kick back and relax with.

Darcy Miller loves her quiet life in the small town of Aveline. In a tight knit town where everyone knows everyone, a handsome new stranger in town has everyone excited. When Penn shows interest in purchasing her dad’s hardware store and making changes to their town, Darcy decides it’s her job to run him out of town. Her plan looks great on paper, but she quickly learns she may have gotten more than she bargained for with this one.
If you’re looking for a laugh out loud rom-com with hilarious characters, a quirky, small town of endearing people, and a love story you’ll be rooting for - look no further!
This was such a cute book! I laughed so many times at the silliness of Darcy and her quips to Penn. Their banter and back and forth kept me engaged and excited for what was to come. The town of Aveline was adorable and I was finding myself engrossed in the story, imagining myself in the town square, at the gazebo, or the town meetings with all the quirky and loving towns folk.
I definitely recommend this cute romantic comedy with a lot of laughs, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days references, and adorable banter.
An amazing story . Darcy is living in a small town working at the vet clinic helping her best friend and she doesn't like changes . When in Aveline come a handsome man Darcy is suspicious of him . Penn has arrived because is interested in buying her father's hardstore and making it hotel so their city will became tourist destination , but he tells everyone that he wants to open a restaurant . Darcy with her college friend make a plan to drive him away from their city . While they dating they both fall in love . What will happen when the truth is revealed ?
I received this book from netgalley and the publicer as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for this ARC.
I read No Vacancy without reading the previous Aveline Series book and it was still so good. I think I'll go back and read the Lettie and Tuck story now too (I love that they are included in this story).
Lindsey Cord did a great job of making me fall in love with this little town and made me laugh out loud multiple times. I loved the references to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days as well as other pop culture. I'm most impressed with how lovable all of the characters in this book are.
Something else I enjoyed about this book is the fun spins on normal tropes. This was a different grumpy x sunshine vibe than I've previously read. Also, a different take on "fake dating" as well.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy storylines like in the movies "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "The Proposal." Also, if you enjoy quirky small towns, this book definitely delivers.
This review will also be present on my instagram account within 48 hours, I will be linking later.
Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and Netgalley for this ARC of No Vacanxy. All opinions are mine.
Marketed with Gilmore Girls and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, I was ready for this. Darcy is a small town girl who meets city boy, Penn, a guy who's set on creating an inherited building into a hotel meant to make Aveline the next tourist hotspot. And it is Darcy's new life misson to prevent that at all costs.
I expected small town cozy with a hint of drama, comedy and romance inspired by our beloved 2000s romance. Ehhh 😀 Darcy is immature and dramatic in the most cringe way, which may have been the author's way of portraying her as quirky and fun. The writing also reads very young when the character are (I think) late 20s. Speaking of characters, the depth to them is ankle deep at best. I've never seen dramatic comedy from a 2000s rom com translate well to books. If the writing was matured (especially the dialogue, ugh the dialogue) and left readers the ability to infer the minor details, I think I would have loved this.
I loved this book! I just watched how to lose a guy in 10 days and I wanted a book that was like that movie and this one was perfect. The story was amazing and the romance was so sweet and to developed very nicely!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Lindsey Cord for the opportunity to receive an arc of “No Vacancy” my final rating is a 3.5 ⭐️

This was my first book by the author and while I’m not blown away by this book or the writing, I enjoyed reading and am highly considering reading the first book in the series. At about the 60 chapter mark is where it fell flat for me. I was hooked early in however if you want a slow burn feel this one isn’t it. Although the book takes place over the span of a couple of months, it doesn’t feel like it. I also found Darcy to be annoying and unbearable sometimes. Lindsey did a great job at the small town feel, I wanted to so badly visit Aveline!! I absolutely loved the romcom feel, I just wish the slow burn would’ve been there and we get to see the moments of Darcy and Penn falling in love more. Altogether I think if anyone is considering reading this or starting the series to do it!
As an avid Gilmore Girls fan I expected to love this but it was just… a little too over the top. Darcy is a very intense character that did not have a lot of redeeming qualities. The town has too many similarities to Stars Hollow including the gazebo and the gavel. I wasn’t able to get past it to enjoy the story. I wanted to love this story so bad!
