In general, I like this book. The illustrations are great, the story is funny, etc. However, the messaging bothers me. This is a dad that’s constantly busy with his kids and just needs a break. Part of it, are the kids misbehaving or are they just rambunctious.
Squirrel's just about had it with taking care of his three rambunctious kids, so his animal pals step in to help out. They take turns entertaining squirrel and babysitting the tykes. By the end of the day, everyone is worn out.
There's a nice message here about being kind to others, but I was kind of creeped out by the human-looking faces on all the animals, and the hair on the hare.
Hopefully kids will enjoy this one more than I did.
A cute story that is very relatable. Great lessons presented in a fun story. I love to see the characters looking after and helping each other out
First of all, I love that the squirrel parent in the book is a dad- while I do think moms need more credit for all we do, dads do a lot- especially a single dad like Squirrel!
Such a cute story about how hard life with kids is but while also highlighting ways to relax. I loved how each animal took a turn watching the squirrel kits and felt so relatable!
Pjs, cuddling, and story-time before bed is a favorite at our house! The last couple weeks the kids had so much fun reading some new material I was given advanced copies of. It’s cute how now they ask what new books I have to read. As soon as I’m finished they will tell me what they loved about the book. My great little reviewers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📚📖 @netgalley #netgalley
