I will read anything in this series! It ran like the first book, full of action and sexual tension. The FMC annoyed me sometimes but they made her dumb to have the good character arc. I need another one asap

I had a tought time deciding between the three and the four. I enjoyed the story. I loved Chan, but Andee, I had a tough time feeling for her. I never felt like I really knew her.

I loved this book - I found it hugely entertaining and couldn't put it down. It had action, it was fast and there was a huge dose of romance. Was it believable - not at all - but I didn't care because the rest was good enough. A fun, easy read.

Wow! This book is packed full of entertainment. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

Andee and Chans story was very heartwarming. These two go through a lot. Poor, Andee. One day her whole world changes. Everything she ever thought had been majorly wrong. The only light she gets is from Chan, but even then she’s not sure she can trust him. These two go through the wringer but they go through it side by side.

A great story with lots of action. I would recommend to any reader.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I need to preface this by saying I have not read the first book in this series, nor did I realize it was a sequel to anything. The book started out good, I really liked Andee and as the story progressed she grew on me even more. While I enjoyed the story as a whole, I think I would have benefited from reading book 1 and think that the execution of this one was off. (Again, I did not read the first book and regret not doing so)

Mr Nice spy is a perfect book to read if your looking for romance, action, and humor. After reading the spy and I, I just knew I was going to have a ride with this story. It’s such a refresher and filled with everything I could ask for. It genuinely feels like I’m watching Tom Cruises film “mission impossible” and that’s all you need to know to understand that this book is a MUST read. And perfect to get you out of a reading slump too

Thank you Berkley for the ARC, but I am DNF'ing at 37% with untold hatred in my heart.

In no world can you convince me this isn't a fourteen-year-old's first foray into writing fan fiction after watching a certain spy movie awoke something in them. Being inside this main character's head is the mental equivalent of nails on chalkboard. She is so dumb, yet apparently knows everything, and her priorities actually make this book unreadable. Personally, if I had been kidnapped by one of the most internationally notorious and dangerous criminals (who, surprise, is also my father) to France and locked in a high security bunker, my only thoughts would not be how I can f**k the absolutely useless CIA agent I fell in insta-lust with.

This trend in romance novels where the plot I actually picked up the book for is thrown aside as soon as possible so the characters can potentially have sex as much as possible with zero chemistry needs to stop.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this book because I really dislike the writing and Andee, who is annoying. I wasn't sure at first, but the more I read, the more unlikely I'm finding the premise to be. It's taking me out of it. Cute cover, though.

We are back in action with the follow up to “The Spy & I” and let me tell you this sequel packs a punch. My best advice don’t start this book at 8 PM because you won’t be able to put it down.

Mr. Nice Spy picks up following the events of “The Spy & I” with dangerous arms dealer Holt still at large and our friends at the CIA still actively on the hunt for him. This book is lead by Andee a pyrotechnic engineer, who is unaware of who her father is. After taking a at home DNA tests Andee then has the CIA knocking on her door. Which leads to the CIA dropping a bombshell on her lap. The CIA needs Andee’s help to take down Holt. However, before the CIA can act, Andee and Officer Adam Chan are kidnapped. Ensuing non-stop chaos and action.

I cannot stress this enough how much I loved this book. I loved how it wasn’t a typical romcom and kept me on the edge of my seat like I was watching an action movie. Andee, our MFC is quirky, brave and hella sassy. Chan, our MMC is kind, funny and crazy smart. Making them both easy to read and relate to. I also loved the disability representation through the use of ASL.

If you haven’t already guessed from my earlier gushing I highly recommend you check this book out. It’s a fast paced action romance you don’t want to miss!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for providing this book, with my honest review below.

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 While many DNA tests warn users that results could provide unexpected or unwelcome information, Andee Paxton was not prepared to learn that her biological father is a notorious criminal and that the CIA wants her help to bring him down. And while she is used to explosive situations (she is a pyrotechnic engineer after all), nothing could have prepared her for this wild ride! Mr. Nice Spy is a delightfully gripping read from start to finish. Tiana Smith masterfully writes in such a manner that keeps you turning the page in delicious suspense while simultaneously feeling confident that Andee and her new main squeeze, Agent Adam Chan will figure their way out of any tough situation thrown their way! Kudos to Smith for showcasing that differently abled people are superheroes and can use their talents in amazing ways! What a fun treat this book is!

Really enjoyed this fast-paced, adventurous and fun-bang-tastic book! Loved the representation with MMC and the chemistry between him and Andee! Will definitely be recommending this to our readers when it comes out!

Explosively fun with a relatable main character, Annee, who's a bit of a hot mess, finds herself in a big one, but with the help of the CIA & charming officer Chan she can turn it around!

📣 I stan a CIA operative who’s all in for the heroine from the word go

Thanks to the publisher & Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

📖 how would you rate your Wednesday so far on a scale of 1-5 ⭐️? I’m giving mine a 4. My body is a little tired still from the work I did yesterday (painting! Trim!), but it’s been pretty quiet & I’ve been sitting in peace which always raises my score 🤣.

If you’re looking for a book that gives Julie James’ law enforcement vibes but with a toned down not-quite-alpha hero, you might like Mr. Nice Spy by Tiana Smith.

Though there’s no on-page shenanigans in this romance, I totally believed the chemistry between Andee Paxton, a pyrotechnic engineer who just realized her father is a crime boss, & Adam Chan, a CIA officer who’s assigned to her case.

In other books the fact that he’s on the case might be the source of the conflict between them, but in this one, it comes down to the fake dating they have to do when Andee’s dad kidnaps them.

I always love the back & forth between two people who are attracted to each other but who are fake dating & in this scenario, it’s extra interesting given that the stakes are so big!

Other things that I loved about this one are the disability rep—Chan is hard of hearing, he isn’t afraid to express his insecurities when it comes to his job, & just his general willingness to put himself out there when it comes to her. Their first exchange is adorable.

Andee, too, is such a fun lead who totally knows how to keep things interesting.

I wish there had been more in the romance department, if not physically, then just with verbal declarations, but this is an entertaining & fast-paced cutie of a romance that I really enjoyed.

4.33 ⭐️. Out 11/05.

CWs: attempted murder, murder, kidnapping.

ɴᴇᴛɢᴀʟʟᴇʏ ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ || MR. NICE SPY [thank you to @tianasmith, @berkleyromance, and @netgalley for my #gifted copy!]

Title: Mr. Nice Spy by Tiana Smith
Genre: Romance
Format: Digital
Star Rating: ★★★★☆

ꜱᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ:
Andee Paxton excels as a fireworks designer, but she's unaware that her biological father, Holt, is a dangerous arms dealer who has escaped prison and is now searching for her. The CIA informs Andee of her father's identity and their plan to use her as bait to capture him. However, before the CIA can act, Andee and Officer Adam Chan are kidnapped due to their mutual distraction from safety protocols. Forced into a fake relationship for protection, Andee and Chan's bond grows as they face multiple explosions and dangers. With Holt's plan threatening global destruction, they must rely on each other to stop him, or risk everything—including their burgeoning romance—blowing up in their faces.

ᴍʏ ᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛꜱ:
The scream I screamed when I saw that Smith’s next spy romance novel was going to feature Adam “Jackie” Chan himself! Chan was a standout character in THE SPY & I, and he grew even more in my affection with this one! He is funny, and kind, and ridiculously smart. Plus - he’s a top book boyfriend (man risked his life to come back for Andee, I mean, come on). This book requires some suspended disbelief as it’s very James Bond, action movie-esque, but that’s what I love about it! Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for an action-packed, steamy romance.

These are so fun and fast paced. I will absolutely be reading everything by this author! I received an early copy from NetGalley. I read Spy and I and when I saw Mr. Nice Spy on the list I hoped I would be approved. This fun and fast paced spy romance was everything I could have asked for. With an amazing main male character who is hearing impaired and a smart main character who can make sure thing happen with a bang you won't want to miss it. Huge thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Romance and to the amazing author herself! I will be recommending this author to anyone who will listen!

I just as easily got absorbed into this story as I did with the first book. Once I started reading, I could not put it down. I will read any book Smith writes in this series, they are so fun, easy to read and it's just very actiony which I enjoy.

This book can be a standalone but you really should reach the first book in the My Spy series. It's technically a romance but there's a lot of thriller and suspense components, too. I just as easily got absorbed into this story as.I did last time. Once I started reading, I could not put it down. I will read any book Smith writes in this series (and I do hope there are more!).

In this book, Officer Adam Chan is the MMC. It's not typical for a main character, especially the MMC, to be hard of hearing so I really appreciated this representation. He meets Andee, our pyrotechnic engineer heroine. After a lifetime of her mother telling her that Andee's father was a famous actor, Andee decides to take a DNA test to prove it. It turns out that she does have a famous father, it's just not someone she could have ever imagined. Andee's father is Holt, the villain from the previous book (The Spy and I), and he's been looking for her.

Quickly after the story starts, so does the adventure. Andee and Chan, who is mistaken as Andee's boyfriend, are kidnapped by Holt. Honestly, I was on the edge of my seat for most of it, trying to figure out how Andee and Chan would escape, if they would get a HEA, or if they could ever be free of Holt.

Andee and Chan definitely have chemistry. The story is told in a single POV, so we know how Andee is feeling. While she's interested in Chan, she's unsure if he reciprocates her feelings or if he's only playing a part/doing his job to keep them both alive.

This is a fast-paced story that'll leave you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend picking up a copy once it's published!

Thanks to Berkley for the eARC, via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I loved Tiana's first book, The Spy and I, and was thrilled when Mr. Nice Spy was announced, and that the MMC would be Adam Chan. I was even more thrilled when I received the eARC of the book. I devoured it in a day, and loved it all!

In this book, the Big Bad from book one, Holt, is still active and the CIA is determined to track him down. When the FMC, Andee, takes a DNA test and discovers Holt is her father, so does the CIA. And so does Holt. What happens next requires Andee and Chan to trust each other and work together to secure their freedom, in part by pretending to date.

I love a suspense romance, and this book did not let me down. There was chemistry between Andee and Chan, as well as healthy doses of conflict to keep me wondering how we would get to an HEA, in addition to the two MCs being free of Holt.

I think readers who enjoyed The Spy and I won't be disappointed by Mr. Nice Spy. I really hope Tiana writes more books in this universe; I particularly would love one with Madison, the sister of the FMC from The Spy and I, as the lead character!

This genre is kind of new to me. It's kind of like a clean, contemporary romance suspense I'd say. It definitely kept me entertained and on my toes. It can be read as a standalone, even though it is the second in the series. I believe the MMC in the 1st one shows up in here a few times. The main characters in here were very easy to like and relate to. You definitely have to suspend your disbelief in here. There are a lot of inaccuracies but this story is fictional and meant to be entertaining. I did not want to put it down at all. It's a quick entertaining read and I'd recommend it.

Tiana Smith is back with an explosive spy rom-com that had me on the edge of my seat! Full of heart, humor, and fireworks, Smith delivers on a nice spy getting the girl. I had so much fun and her writing gave me heart palpitations while Andee and Chan were trapped in the catacombs by the deranged Holt but there were so many moments that made me chuckle, especially the beginning and end!
