A pretty good sampler with a variety of different titles; would have liked for the samples to be a little longer, just to get a better grasp of each title, but the lengths were pretty good.
This was a fantastic sampler! Thank you to Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for putting this one together. There were several books of which I wasn't aware that have now been added to my TBR. (I've already read and LOVED Thirsty by Jas Hammonds.) I'm also looking forward to reading I Wish You Would by Eva Des Lauriers and The Great Cool Ranch Dorito in the Sky by Josh Galarza.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing access to this digital sampler.
This was a good sampler and highlighted some books that I can't wait to read coming up!
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this review copy
This sampler is a great way to see what books are upcoming and ever better to use during book club meeting to decide on future reads. Thanks for these and keep them coming!
A Crane Among Wolves by June Hur
- I am absolutely entranced by this book’s premise. This is the sort of story that I’m certain I just will not be able to put down. I have a strong suspicion that I’m going to be quite impressed and fond of this one.
In Repair by A. L. Graziadei
- Honestly, I just wasn’t pulled into the story. In all fairness, I’ve found college set stories to be very hit or miss for me lately.
Thirsty by Jas Hammonds
- I’m not sure yet if I’ll be reading this one. It’s a heavy topic, certainly, and one that I think is of great importance for young adult readers. My hope is that it resonates with a large number of students, but I’ll admit that this one is somewhat lower on my TBR.
I Wish You Would by Eva Des Lauriers
- I LOVED I Wish You Would. It was such a fun and brilliant story! And the characters are so relatable and engaging.
In the Shallows by Tanya Byrne
- I’m a little torn on In the Shadows. On the one hand, I’m not really very interested in the premise, but I have to say that the mystery of what has happened to this poor girl is certainly one that I have some mild interest in figuring out.
Flawless Girls by Anna-Marie McLemore
- Meh, I just couldn’t get into this one.
Four Eids and a Funeral by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé and Adiba Jaigirdar
- I have been eyeing Four Eids and a Funeral for a while now, but I’m just not sure that it’s a book I’m very interested in. I think the biggest reason I’m interested in the first place lies with the fact that I really enjoyed the show remake of the inspiration material for this book—but, if I’m being truthful, I never cared enough about the original and I don’t know that I’m really all that interested in this book.
Crashing into You by Rocky Callen
- Haha, this is one of those books that I’ll probably pick up if I ever find myself in the mood, but I doubt I’ll go seeking. I think it’s just that the premise isn’t one that immediately pulls me in but the writing and the simple nature of the story is moderately appealing. Kind of reminds me of those light movies that you watch to pass the time—this is a light read to pick up when you’re not looking for something crazy substantial.
The Darkness Within Us by Tricia Levenseller
- Ugh, no. I did not like The Darkness Within Us. To be honest, I really don’t understand Levenseller’s appeal. I’ve been disappointed with near every book I’ve read of hers.
Portrait of a Shadow by Meriam Metoui
- I’d have to be in the right mood for this book and I’m just really not in that space right now.
The Great Cool Ranch Dorito in the Sky by Josh Galarza
- TW: Cancer — I skipped this one solely for that trigger concern. Not something I’m capable of reading at the present moment in time.
Medici Heist by Caitlin Schneiderhan
- I’m actually really excited about Medici Heist! I don’t know when I’ll have the chance to sit down and finish it, but this is off to a great start and I love the ideas!
Kisses, Codes, and Conspiracies by Abigail Hing Wen
- Oh my goodness, this book is unquestionably going to be so much fun! Can’t wait to get a full copy.
The Fierce Reads Spring 2024 digital sampler was excellent! I especially enjoyed the previews from A Crane Among Wolves (June Hur), I Wish You Would (Eva Des Lauriers) and Flawless Girls (Anna-Marie McLemore). Four Eids and A Funeral and Medici Heist were new to me but I will definitely be adding them to my TBR.
Thank you to Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group and Netgalley for a free sampler in exchange for honest feedback.
Love a digital sampler as a way to try out a ton of new releases!
Thank you to #NetGalley and #MacmillanChildren'sPublishingGroup for a free copy of #FierceReadsSpring2024DigitalSampler. All opinions are my own.
Great sampler. Some books I look forward reading more of are Thirsty, Four Eids and a funeral, a crane among wolves and kisses codes and conspiracies
I was already planning on reading The Darkness Within Us and this glimpse into the book made me anticipate its release even more and on top of that it also got me interested in Flawless girls! Thank you to NetGalley and Fierce reads for the chance to preview these upcoming releases!
I always love to read Macmillan Children's Publishing Group's Fierce Reads, and its early view of the most highly anticipated YA titles. This edition was definitely fierce and fun, featuring fantasy, historical fiction, debuts and more. Enjoy!
So eager to read these.. A few of these books are new to me and I’m glad to have the chance to check them out. I’m most excited for Flawless Girls and Kisses, Codes and Conspiracies. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
I love this so much! So many of these books are ones I want to read, and I've been waiting for them to come out. I loved the sneak peaks for the different books
Cannot help but be extremely hyped over the titles in this digital sampler! Thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for the chance to have a sneak peek!
I was so excited to see this collection available! I really value these previews as somebody who always has FOMO about missing out on a book I’ll love but does not have the time to read everything that interests me these types of collections really help me narrow down what I will love and want to read right away and what I can maybe tuck away for later on a TBR. I was particularly interested in A Crane Among Wolves, In The Shallows, Four Eids and a Funeral, and The Darkness Within Us. The other books in the collection I hadn’t heard anything about but was excited to be able to see if they were books I would enjoy.
Ooh thank you to the publishers and netgalley for letting me get a hand on this. So excited for the new Jas Hammonds and also Fairdah book.
Love samplers…found several books that I want to read the full stories.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Always looking forward to reading a sample of books on my TBR. Downloaded this one specifically to read a preview of Thirsty, Flawless Girls, and the Great Cool Ranch Dorito, which are all on my TBR. Looking forward to those! Already read and enjoyed I Wish You Would
