I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
I did not have a chance to read this book, but it is effecting my feedback rating. I am giving books 5 stars that I haven't read to improve my feedback rating. I am not recommending the book for my classroom or students since I have not read the book. There needs to be a better system of leaving feedback for books not read.
This book had a mix of contemporary with a bit of fabulism that reminded me a bit of Dreamology, with the whole vivid dreaming and dream bleeding going on. It was fascinating and a bonus that the characters work at a library. Kind of a enemies to lovers trope thrown in. I enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed the dream world in this novel—especially Christine’s interactions with the character Leo within that world. I thought some of that dialogue and storytelling was the best in the novel and I would have liked to see their relationship fleshed out more.
Although they just met, Christine is all Gabriel has hoped for. She's friendly, considerate, and she cares about him. But Gabriel lives half in the normal world and half in dreams, so spending time with him puts Christine in danger. A bit of fantasy, some science fiction, young love, and it's an entertaining story. Ideally, I'd see this as teen/young adult, and it's a pretty quick read.
