I don't usually get these books from NetGalley because they tend to blow up my to-read pile, and yes, this was no exception. I was happy to see so many terrific books on the horizon—some out now, others into the new year. I am looking forward to some new Fiction, especially Entitlement, A Reason to See You Again, The Fabled Earth, Tartufo, Homeseeking, The Sequel, Harlem Rhapsody, This is a Love Story, Rental House, and Every Moment Since, among others. (and this is just the fiction section, you can see why this is a problem for my budget and my toppling piles :) I added The Resurrectionist, The Teller of Small Fortunes, The Stone Witch of Florence, and The UnderCurrent from Debuts, and The Harder I Fight, the More I Love from Non-Fiction.
Honestly, writing this out like this just reminds me how books like these do all they can to hinder me from chipping away at my to-read list. :)
Happy New Year, folks, 2025 is looking promising, for readers, at least.
Another good sampler of upcoming titles. Always helpful and useful! I look forward to when these come out and getting familiar with titles for the upcoming season.
As always this collection of books is full of tempting previews. Recommend for introductions to new authors. Thanks for the opportunity to read it NetGalley!
This is a good resource for anyone who is in charge of making book group selections and would like a preview of potential picks.
For the chosen titles, descriptions and sample pages are generous. Will look forward to the next Buzz Books!
Thank you so much to Publishers Lunch, the authors featured in this guide, and NetGalley for the opportunity to take a look at Buzz Books 2024: Fall/Winter. This collection is awesome! This guide has a list and exerpts from new books in all kinds of genres being released, as well as the covers of the books and links to read/request the galley from NetGalley. This is super helpful to discover new books and be able to see if those books and the writing style interests you. Sometimes, a summary is not quite enough to decide whether a book will be for you. If you are a bit indecisive or want to be particular with your time and energy when it comes to discovering new reads, this guide is a great way to test out books to find the ones you'd like to request or later purchase. I've already found a few books that I would like to request and I'm sure the more time I spend with this guide, my TBR will grow even further. Thank you again!
Always love to see these samplers because I'm pretty deep into my own niche, so there's always tons of titles I wouldn't have heard of otherwise!
As always, a great collection is coming in this fall.
I have always loved these previews and excerpts that help us decide which books to read/review/request.
Tartufo sounds interesting, The Book of George sounds fun, and Shred Sisters had one of the strongest openings I've ever read!
Brightly Shining seems like a heartwarming Christmas read too. Rental House gave me Wellness vibes.
Among the debuts,
Libby Lost and found has the most compelling plot. I have been seeing a lot of I'll get Back to You over my bookstagram.
Super helpful for deciding what to put on my TBR and what to prioritize with my reading. Looking forward to the next edition.
Wow! This is stacked with so many excerpts! I love the opportunity to sample the book before I put in a request.
This selection includes so many that are outside of my typical genres (although I am a genre hopper) and I love that I have the chance to test the waters before putting in a request! I especially like the debut section! I love supporting debut authors.
I do wish the link for read/request was within the first page for easy access via the table of contents.
Love the summary and preview of various books to come and how it is laid out. This one does not contain authors I normally read from, but there were a few stories from authors that were new to me, or I don't normally read, that this did whet the appetite for me for their new releases. I will definitely keep an eye out for their upcoming works.
Hooray! Now most of these titles have been released and I can find them at my library or bookstore. I love how the Buzz Books series helps me prioritize my TBR.
As always an excellent selection of excerpts from upcoming titles, several of which caught my interest and are now on my reading list. Always worth checking these compilations out for authors I haven't read before as well as favourite authors and those making their debuts.
Once again, Buzz Books has increased my already lengthy to-be-read list by at least a dozen books! I look forward to this collection of noteworthy up and coming books and always find my new favorite among its titles. Thank you NetGalley for the privilege of reading this book-I love being the first of my circle to know about upcoming releases!
Like always, the Buzz Book is a mix of good, great, and just ok. Like always, I have made a list of the books I absolutely NEED to finish reading.
Some highpoints-
Old Soul-
A chance encounter by two people who miss their flight leads to a search for the stories of the woman who has been around for many horrible deaths. She always has different names and she is possibly ageless. Jake seeks out others who have encountered this woman to compare their stories and try to solve who she is. I need to know, too.
W1ll1am-
An agoraphobic but brilliant scientist is obsessed with creating his perfect AI. When he does, his smart house starts to become a little too smart. His wife invites some people over and it is not going to go well. I still want to know how it goes.
The Stolen Queen-
I guess I have not gotten over my childhood fascination with Egypt and all of the mysteries of the pharaohs. Knowing Fiona Davis has a way with entertaining stories in different timelines, is probably the reason I will buy this book.
Exposure-
What happened one night a dozen years ago? Four different people all saw it four different ways. I need to know.
The Sequel-
This is a bit of a cheat because I've already read this one. But anyone who read The Plot will want to read The Sequel. The woman you love to hate is back.
Shred Sisters-
Sisters! Am I right?
Every Moment Since-
Another cheat. I've already read this one. But the author handles the horrifying loss of a child with straight forward honesty.
Penitence-
The opening scene of tragedy amongst two young siblings and the complex nature of the relationships that grow from that one incident was enough to want to finish this story.
I'm Sorry for My Loss-
Perfect for this time. Reproductive care in the US has never been in a more precarious position. We all need to understand what is at stake.
I always look forward to planning out my TBR each season, and loved getting a list of the books coming out!
*many thanks to Netgalley for the gifted copy
Really excited for so many solid upcoming titles! Please keep putting out these guides - the previews are super helpful.
I love getting to see the previews of books to come. This is a great resource for people. Thanks for having this on here.
Yes!!!! This is such a great idea. I love that netgalley has a book with all the upcoming titles that are either released
Or about to be at a future date. I had no idea that they did this but it makes it so much easier to go through and see what peaks my interest and then look for it in netgalley. I will be on the lookout for the next one .
I look forward to the seasonal Buzz Books samplers. It's always great to read about debut authors, as well as get an overview of what's upcoming from authors that I follow. Thanks so much for putting these samplers together.
