Buzz books are a favorite of mine - always enjoy browsing through these and find new books to add for my TBR for the next season.

These are always a fantastic read. I love reading parts of upcoming books...it gives me something to look forward to.

Don't skip this one!! There are some really great book intro's in here to really get you interested in the new releases.

I'm most excited about The Stolen Queen, Old Soul, William, The Sequel, Clever Little Thing, Penitence, The Teller of Small Fortunes, This Cursed House, Old Wounds but there were so many more to enjoy, hopefully a little something for everyone!!

Working in publishing means always keeping a pulse on what new books are on the horizon. One of the most invaluable resources each season is the Buzz Books series, now on their 25th release. They’ve just shared their Buzz Books 2024: Fall/Winter sampler, calling out hundreds of upcoming fiction and nonfiction releases and previewing dozens of them in lengthy excerpts. The listed books are divided into Fiction, Nonfiction, and Young Adult, with further breakdowns within each section. They range genres, from literary fiction and historical fiction to horror, thriller, and fantasy. I especially appreciate the section highlighting debut authors. Within Nonfiction, there are sections dedicated to memoirs and biographies, politics, history, business, and more.

The end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 have a ton of incredible new books to look forward to. Here are some titles that stood out to me:

Of the books that come with an excerpt, some that I am particularly interested in reading in full include City of Night Birds by Juhea Kim; Shred Sisters by Betsy Lerner; Harlem Rhapsody by Victoria Christopher Murray; North Is the Night by Emily Rath; The Resurrectionist by A. Rae Dunlap; Clever Little Thing by Helena Echlin; The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong; The Stone Witch of Florence by Anna Rasche; This Cursed House by Del Sandeen; The Lotus Shoes by Jane Yang; and I’m Sorry for My Loss: An Urgent Examination of Reproductive Care in America by Rebecca Little and Colleen Long.

Other listed fiction books, without excerpts, that stand out include The Wood at Midwinter by Susanna Clarke; A Sunny Place for Shady People by Mariana Enriquez; Sister Snake by Amanda Lee Koe; A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang; The Devil by Name by Keith Rosson; Songs for the Brokenhearted by Ayelet Tsabari; The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak; and The Puzzle Box by Danielle Trussoni. Several books within nonfiction—especially relating to music and books, immigration, and rights and social issues—are also now on my short list to read once they’re available.

Buzz Books 2024: Fall/Winter is an excellent resource for avid readers, book influencers, librarians and bookstore workers, and anyone else who works in the publishing industry. There is no shortage of original, connective, and fascinating books to read, and this coming fall and winter will offer a plethora of options for all reading tastes. Seeing this list of books and these curated excerpts has only heightened my excitement for the publications that are coming.

I look forward to Buzz Books every season. I enjoy being able to read an excerpt from upcoming titles. It helps me to judge if I would enjoy the books or not. I like the convenience of having the link to the galley embedded. I learned that one of my favorite authors, Fiona Davis, is coming out with a new title and after reading the excerpt I am very excited for the release!

I always look forward to Buzz Books, it is undoubtedly a favourite, although as I make my way through it and the books it covers, it is also true to say that I do groan, time and time again. This is because I am tempted by so many, it is just not possible all that I want to read. Along with new and debut writers, I am drawn to familiar authors, including Rumaan Alam and Jean Hanff Korelitz, and some non-fiction too. Always appreciate the depth and breadth of the books covered, a must read for book lovers. Many thanks Buzz Books!,

This is a very detailed compilation of authors and their books that are coming out Fall this year. I’m much appreciative of the list of authors and books to read as the year progresses. I really look forward to getting to know some new authors works.

Useful for finding out the new books coming from my favorite authors, but not enough samples from books that I want to read.

I always love these catalogues to get a feeling for upcoming releases for the next season. Although 2024 has been quite "frontloaded" when it comes to my most anticipated releases, I'm still looking forward to quite a few. My top 5:
