This catalogue contains covers, blurbs and extracts from nearly fifty books coming out in Fall/Winter 2024. I liked that for each book we get an excerpt of the first chapter which is a good way to get a feel for the writing style and characters if you found the blurb intriguing. This document is very easy to navigate as the contents page contains hyperlinks to each book and each book has a link to the NetGalley page for that book so you can request/download the book. I thought it was great that the sampler was split into four distinct parts: Fiction, Debut, Non-Fiction and Young Adult which added to the accessibility of this document and made it very easy to find books you are interested in.

Overall this was great way to discover some new releases this Fall/Winter and I will definitely be adding some of these books to my TBR pile!

Yet another great collection of upcoming books. I am very excited for some of them, and I even added a few on my wishlist. I've been excited to get the Buzz Books collection for years now and it never disappoints. Cannot wait for the next one.

I love Buzz Books! I always find several books that I wouldn’t have had on my radar if not reading about them in Buzz Books. This one did not have as many as usual that appealed to me, but I still love reading about them, and I always look forward to the next one!

I love the Buzzi books series and end the 2024 fall/winter edition there’s so many books to add to your TBR pile. There’s great books that represent mini genre in many walks of life from sci-fi to fiction to mystery you won’t closest book without finding more books you want to read. I cannot wait to read Old Wounds by Logan Ashley Kisner I can’t wait to read love advice from the great Duke of hell, Sylvia Doe and the hundred year flood i’ve only named three but there’s so many there’s a new one by Rick Riordan presents a few from Walt Disney and there’s even non-fiction books in the mix read it and find your own favorites there really is a lot of them. Love these starter sampler books I just can’t get enough of them.#NetGalley, #BuzziestBooks,#Publisher‘s lunch,

I skipped several excerpts that I knew wouldn’t interest me based on the summary. Here are my thoughts on all the rest!

Fiction

Entitlement: I like the perspective of a black woman working for a wealthy white man in this specific context, but I wonder where the story’s going. Would I read the rest? Maybe.

A Reason to See You Again: not enough story to make a fair judgment.

Old Soul: The story starts rolling very quickly, and it has just the right amount of spookiness to draw the reader in. I’d keep reading this one, but I’d be a little scared (in a good way).

The Fabled Earth: Not the right mood for me.

The Forty Year Kiss: Interesting enough, but I don’t really do second-chance romance.

Tartufo, The Undercurrent: interesting but not enough in this excerpt to get the plot moving.

William: Now that was interesting. I’d read this one scared, too.

The Stolen Queen: Very cool! I want to keep reading!

Exposure; The Book of George, City of Night Birds, Shred Sisters, Brightly Shining, Sky Full of Elephants, This Cursed House: Not enough in these excerpts to tell. Maybe, leaning towards no.

The Ancients: Interesting but not my kind of story.

The Other March Sisters: Interesting, but I don’t read queer romances.

Harlem Rhapsody: Yes except that I don’t like stories about cheaters who prosper. I don’t even like The Notebook!

This is a Love Story: Too hard to follow the plot, so no.

Rental House: Interesting, but I need more plot.

Every Moment Since, Libby Lost and Found: Yes! I want to keep reading.

The Resurrectionist: Maybe, leaning towards yes. I like Frankenstein.

Clever Little Thing, Penitence: Maybe, but I don’t really read domestic thrillers.

The Teller of Small Fortunes, The Lotus Shoes: Maybe, leaning towards yes.

The Stone Witch of Florence: Nope. Tired of the same old “religious people are evil hypocrites” garbage.

YA

Sylvia Doe: Not magical enough yet to get me interested.

Divine Mortals: I’ve never read a protagonist quite like this. Hints of Katniss Everdeen. Lots of mythology and world-building info-dumping for this short of an excerpt, though. That was confusing. This is a maybe.

Jax Freeman: The protagonist’s voice is annoying since I work with actual 12-year-olds already. Also a lot of world-building but not in a way that makes sense yet. Maybe, leaning towards no. Maybe if I read Tristan Strong and like that.

The Dividing Sky: Another big chunk of world-building, but I understand the inciting event in this one, at least. Maybe, leaning towards yes.

I love these Buzz Books and I always read them each season. I can usually get at least three or four new requests from the excerpts. This time I only got two but still adored the excerpts of each book.

This is a really clever idea and I look forward to reading these sample books. Ebook samples is an excellent way to have a taster of books you might like before committing to buying them. The beauty of the Buzz Books samplers is that these are books you may never ever come across. I’ve heard of some of the authors but 95% are new to me.

The non fiction includes an excellent opener about winter and, reading it during a summer heatwave, it still made me feel the snow and the biting wind. The Marie Curie biography is well worth reading, but no surprise given it’s written by Dava Sobel. There is fiction by debutant authors as well as more established writers and the joy is discovering something you’d never know to pick up but that instantly hooks you.

Certainly reading these compilations always adds a few books to my TBR pile.

Buzz Books 2024: Fall/Winter edition serves as a great resource for books. This was my first time reading it but definitely won't be my last.

Another great list of books to tempt me! After choosing no fewer than fourteen to read, i requested, so far, three, trying to keep in mind that my list is very long already, Reading the buzz books summaries makes me excited for literature... so many wonderful books to choose from. I truly appreciate the summaries and book comps as I'd like to get ahead of my book club recommendations for the year, and our rule is that books must be read by the person recommending before they bring it to the club. Very excited about Anna Montague, as the book club loved Shelby Van Pelts Remarkably Bright Creatures. I suspect they will love all 14 of the ones I've flagged.

This is the 25th installment highlighting about 50 titles that publisher relict will generate a lot of buzz. It features fiction, debut titles, nonfiction, and young adult. Each has a summary and an excerpt. This is an invaluable tool for librarians and book reviewers to sample titles without committing to downloading the full book and risk having the burden to finish it.
