I read the book., yet throughout something was missing. It seemed to be just scratching the surface on this story about Dr. Lin, a Doctor at a hospital, targeted by a hate filled, dangerous and frightening adversary!! His patients files are anonymously changed to the fatal at some points. Throughout the book, we read his thoughts, his feelings, what he eats, what he sees and the fear he experiences. It’s a frightening story, yet somehow just misses the mark. It culminates in an encounter, finally, with the enemy, so to speak. It’s kind of a dumb premise, but nevertheless, I did like the book…again, it just missed that something. Anthony Lee, the author, having studied medicine, can sure throw in the correct terminology of medications and procedures that are anatomically correct. It resolved but I give the book 3 stars.

This book-- a hacker attacking a doctor's patients, plays on the fears of many people and computer records. The story kept me engaged the entire time and even now I'm wondering how secure can things really be?

Doctor Lucifer, the first novel by Anthony Lee, was well done and kept my interest. I found myself fully engaged at the start and remained that way throughout. The story was heavy on. medical jargon which was not needed and it did slow down towards the end. The ending of the story seemed forced, however, overall it was a good read.

☆Medical cybercrime☆

This story follows Dr. Mark Lin, who's trying to stop a cyber hacker that's trying to kill his patients by changing their medical records. The author wrote a truly gripping crime novel filled with drama, suspense, compelling storyline, and more! I was highly engaged throughout every chapter. I never found myself bored with this story, I just wanted more! I'll absolutely be reading more from this author in the future.

Anyone with medical experience, particularly in a hospital on the weekends and nights will find fault in this book. The main character is an established resident and on the surface likeable. However, once the contact with patients and their families begins his behavior is ludicrous and would not be allowed. The author is not writing satire. The story lost momentum at 50%.

The book depicts a major teaching hospital and the author writes a middle grade story.

The genre legal thriller is incorrect; threatening suit by a patient and a family is all that takes place.

The ending was childish and stayed with the middle grade boy mind set.

You can't take it seriously; there are some funny moments.

The beginning had me pretty hooked as I was getting into it because I really was fascinated by the idea of this happening and what it would be like in real life. It did get super repetitive and drawn out resulting in it being very slow paced for me. It didn’t have a whole lot of heart-racing thrill I was searching for in this scenario playing out. There was a LOT of name dropping references to everyday life things, which kind of put me off from it. There was parts that were too detailed and drawn out that made it difficult for me to keep reading and pushing through. Still I’m glad I kept going because the ending was more than satisfactory and I’m glad it ended the way it did. I will say the reveal of who Doctor Lucifer was, was honestly not that surprising as he was one of my top suspects from the get go. I did enjoy the riddle and ending the most overall. Thank you for the chance to read your book.

I greatly enjoyed reading this book as someone who has doctors in the family. I truly believe that the author knows what it's like being a doctor and was able to express the frustration, stress, battle within or doctors. Unlike my typical genre of books, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I kept reading until I was completed. The book is engaging and speaks from Dr. Mark Lin's point of view. It is scary to think what could happen if medicine falls into the wrong hands.

Medical thriller mixed with computer technology story. Overall not a bad story but nothing exciting or too entertaining. Medical portions were too drawn out and explained in way too much detail which were not necessary to the plot and took too long. I felt like I was given a CPR and code blue lesson at one point. Some parts could have been cut and made the book shorter without compromising the story. Give it a read but don’t expect too much.

This was an okay book for me and I was glad when it was over. I was excited to read it once I read the synopsis and it appeared to tie cyber attacks in a way I never thought possible. The main chapter is a doctor that is targeted by a cyber attack, switching up medicine on patience or hiding their blood type when a transfusion is required. So I thought it had good promise. But it was a slow build and a lot of it was so unbelievable, it had me rolling my eyes at moments. The doctor has been bullied, targeted and shamed in public, but he just says "It's okay, I won't press charges". The book also repetitive and could have been eliminated, but made me think it was just filler on the pages. The ending was the best part and that is why I gave this book 2 1/2 stars overall. I think this author has promise and I would try another book by him in the future. Just want more substance in the book.

It was okay…

Long explanations of medical terminology, didn’t really like the main character
His qualities
- a bit self centered
- lacked empathy
- loves music (especially his Spotify playlists) *can’t forget this one*

mystery/thriller but didn’t start to get into the action part until about halfway through. By that point I was ready for what was next, more suspense and some plot twists but nope. Perfect book if you’re a doctor or in the medical field and understand the terminology that’s thrown out there.

Unfortunately thus didn't work for me.. I got pretty irritated within the first few pages pushing politics in the way of vaccines. Just not my thing and I wouldn't honestly recommend to many

The premise was interesting but the book dragged and it was just not for me. I don't mind medical thrillers, it was just this particular book. it started off very good but by half way I was losing interest

A computer hacker has hacked into a bunch of patient charts and are killing patients. But one doctor is trying to stop it one patient at a time.

I was not a fan of this book and it felt boring. In the beginning it started off okay but by halfway through I was contemplating putting it down. I thought it was too simple and there wasnt enough thrill or anything in it.

I liked Dr. Mark Lin right from the beginning. It’s easy to feel sorry for him as bad things start happening to him. The plot was intriguing but lost it’s way about half way through and became preachy, redundant, and frankly, boring. Thankfully, the author got off his soap box and the last quarter of the book kicked in. The middle is the reason for three stars as opposed to four stars.

My review is voluntary and all comments and opinions are my own.
