Romance
There is much to taste and appreciate in this romance by Tarah Dewitt. First, the setting of Spunes, Oregon is small town, coastal, and charming. Female lead, Sage Byrd, lives here, teaches here, and raises misfit animals. When things go wrong in his job as a New York chef, Fisher Lange come to the community on a consulting job for a new restaurant. He brings along his niece, Indy.
Dewitt adds spice, romance, and drama to the mix when the two meet. The dual narration of Vacker and Webber is phenomenal with their emotional and heartfelt audio performances. This well-written and narrated story draws you in from the beginning, and you stay for the Festival of Spunes. Enjoy your summer in Spunes with Sage and Fisher!
I am grateful to be a member of the Macmillan Audio Influencer Program. I received an advance listener's copy from Macmillan Audio through Net Galley. My review is my own.
I love Tarah Dewitt’s books! Savor It was delightful. I loved the characters and the setting and their story. I love a slightly chaotic meddling small town setting. This had that but like not to an extreme level where it was annoying, just like the right amount of the small town charm shenanigans.
The couple were so great together. I loved them both and their love story. Tarah can do no wrong for me! She always makes me fall in love with both of them!
The audiobook was great, the narrators were both excellent and fit the characters really well.
Savor It, by Tarah Dewitt, was a thoroughly enjoyable romance. I loved the quirky heroine, Sage, and her array of rescue pets. Fisher was the perfect hero for her and I loved how he navigated his relationship with his niece, Indy. Narrators Karissa Backer & Zachary Webber are two of my absolute faves, and they were pitch perfect as always!
(Small note- one of the chapters from Fisher's POV [I believe it's ch 19 but can't swear to it] cuts out at the very end. I don't think I missed anything important, and I went back twice to be sure it wasn't just an issue on my end, and there is a distinct mangling of Fisher's voice at the very end of that chapter, then jumping too soon into Sage's POV for the next chapter.)
Highly recommend!
I loved this book. it was quirky, cute, reflective, and heartwarming. there are a few different relationships in here that enjoyed watching blossom. of course Fisher and Sage being our two mcs; i really enjoyed seeing their friendship grow into a relationship that had actual depth to it and as the reader, you could understand and feel their connection. Both sage and fisher are working through some emotional wounds and they definitely lean on each other to get to a better place. the tension between them was chefs kiss, and i thought the pace their relationship developed was perfect. i really loved the way that they both easily fit into each other's day to day to smoothly and came to understand each other in a short amount of time. things that like speak to a love story more to me, rather than a steamy/lusty interaction. another relationship that i feel is almost just as important in this storyline is Fisher's relationship with his niece Indy. he has a lot of guilt to work through regarding his sister and their relationship, along with his relationship/guardianship with Indy. the story starts off with them not being in the most ideal place, but as they come to understand each other better and open up more; you definitely see their relationship grow. and then with Sage also being a part of that, plus the animals... it is the cutest little family. the other relationships i loved were the animals and Sage, and then of course Fisher and the goats. this was such a cozy read that i can see myself revisiting again in the future and will definitely recommend to everyone.
I haven’t read Tarah DeWitt’s previous books (though I have bought them), and I’m not sure why, other than lack of time. After reading this one, I’m moving them all to the top of my TBR! Savor It was such a well written and enjoyable storyline that tugged on the heartstrings and filled all my needs for tropes and steam and romance in one place.
Fisher and Sage were excellent characters and I really loved his niece, Indy. Fisher took custody of her when his sister passed in an accident… though there’s a lot more to that story involving his parents and her living with them a while… Fisher is a Michelin-starred chef coming to the small town of Spunes, Oregon (not unlike Forks, Washington… you know, spoons? With the audio you couldn’t tell the difference until I grabbed the ebook again!), to oversee the finalizing and opening of the new location of his boss and partner’s latest restaurant location, which the town is causing roadblocks against.
Sage is a teacher and neighbors to Fisher and Indy. She’s there when they arrive and befriends them from the start. Helps them settle into the town and new beginning. Helps Fisher get in everyone’s good books. Become friends with her brothers after their terrible meet-cute (is it a meet cute with unromantic male friends?).
I loved the dynamics of this whole book! Every part of it came across perfectly - perfect chemistry between everyone, perfect teen drama, perfect romance, perfect town and all of the pushback surrounding the restaurant (gosh I loved the whole thing about the… observatory!). Sage and Fisher had a great slow burn and I loved it. Definitely recommend this one and I can’t wait to read her other books which are sitting in my audio library. The audio version is definitely worth it here! Narrated by long-time beloved Zachary Webber who will and get a standing ovation from me (I’d listen to him read me absolutely anything, honestly), and new-to-me voice Karissa Vacker, who I thought did a great job as Sage. They both get 5-stars for their performances. Perfectly cast!
I received an advance read and listen copy from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press (St. Martin's Griffin), and Macmillan Audio, and this is my honest feedback.
I had the pleasure of listening to Savor It by Tarah DeWitt. Savor It is narrated by two of my favorite narrators, Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber. Once again, both narrators did a terrific job. Gosh, I just love these two narrators. Both voices are so easy to listen to.
Sage Byrd lives in a small coastal town in Oregon. A year ago, she broke up with Ian after a five-year relationship. In just one year, she sees Ian fall in love and get in engaged. Sage inherited her parents' house, where she lives and has a bunch of random animals on her hobby farm. When Sage's neighbors go out of town, Sage looks after their house and helps them lease out their home.
Fisher Lange is headed from NYC to Oregon to help open a restaurant. Fisher has custody of his niece, Indy, who joins him for the summer adventure.
Welp, girl meets boy. They fall in love. Well, maybe not that fast. But, a romantic relationship ensues. And, I am here for it. It was a sweet story. and I loved every single bit of it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have this book a four. I genuinely enjoyed both characters and the kid in this book. This story was wholesome and an overall good time. Cheers to love 😘
The book is as beautiful as the cover! I just love Tarah's writing, it's so heartfelt and her characters are too. This was also so funny to me, the banter and thoughts from Sage and Fisher was the best (I love Tarah's humor). I loved the love between Sage and Fisher and following that love. All the emotions that came from these two for each other and what was going on in their own lives. The animals Sage had were so precious and I really appreciated Fisher's career and the conversations around the restaurant scene/being a chef. This book gives that small town giddy feeling that I love and the fact that it was in the PNW was everything! The audiobook??? A MUST. It was so well done, I loved it!
Where to start with this one? Tarah DeWitt's 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳 𝘐𝘵 is full of heart and easily the best work she has done yet. From our main characters, Sage and Fisher, who are unapologetically human and smitten with one another, to the fun town of Spunes, Oregon - I. am. obsessed.
Tarah does something so magical with all of the characters she creates. Sage and Fisher, along with Indy, Wren, Sam, etc., are no different. She makes them feel so tangible; they are flawed, funny, and all at the same time, incredibly relatable and sincere. Sage and Fisher are both trying to make sense of their life while dealing with their own two versions of grief, and while its confusing and at times very frustrating, they lean on each other - finding moments of clarity, peace, and love with one another. Its incredibly tender the way they care for each other and Tarah does an exceptional job at showing that to us in her writing. Getting both POVs was a gift.
I know in my heart that the next book in this series will be amazing, if not more, especially with what was previewed. 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳 𝘐𝘵 will be hands down be a fan favorite next year; there's no question about it.
I just absolutely loved this book! Sage & Fishers love story was so realistic and refreshing and gave me all the good, cozy vibes. I loved the mental health representation (specifically in regard to burnout and grief) and the fact that they actually communicated their feelings. If a book can make me tear up, it immediately deserves alllllll the stars!
I listened to this particular book on audio and the narration was phenomenal! I usually struggle to focus on audiobooks and this one had me hooked from the start.

"Love me, Love me, Love me.. Before we're out of time."
I adored every single minute of this book. Tarah Dewitt's writing is poetic and beautiful and I was scrambling to bookmark and highlight so many quotes while I was listening to this audiobook. This book is about truly finding happiness- however big or small it might look on the outside. I fell for Sage and her menagerie of animals instantaneously. I love her outlook on life and I think I even learned some things from her. And wow could I relate to Fisher and all his feelings about his career, burnout, and deciding to live life differently. I loved Indie and her struggle to find herself. I loved the small town and all the crazy people and how they ended up being exactly what all three of them needed. I loved this book and it will definitely be one I read more than once.
"I'll take the life I have at my fingertips and make something of it. I'll spend more time with people outside of work. I'll say yes when people invite me out for drinks...I'll stop to listen to the musicians in the park for once...I'll experience those small joys I too often ignored."

I listened to the audiobook and loved both narrators so much. Their voices matched the characters perfectly. There was a slight whistle at the end of some words that annoyed me just a bit but other than that, it was perfect!
Thank you so much to Tarah Dewitt and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

A big thank you to @netgalley @stmartinspress for the ARC & @macmillianaudio for the ALC of this book!
Pretty sure the queen of the slow burn just took it up a notch & earned every jewel in said queen’s crown! 👑
The small town setting of Spunes Oregon has the perfect backdrop for Sage & Fisher’s story. The townies in this book truly cracked me up & reminded me a lot of small towns near where I live - which added a even more to my enjoyment of the witty banter, unique personalities and small town dynamics.
I appreciated the way in which I could see what I know of Tarah’s humor from following her on Instagram, across the pages of this book. Hilarious, witty & smart-ass — and I love it!
All of the characters (including the precious animals) were so fun to get to know, navigate their various dynamics and root for them along the way!
The audiobook is so well done & the narration is spot on! It gave such life to the characters & immersed me in their story - which I loved.
As always, I’ll read whatever Tarah writes & I hope you do as well! 🤍
Perfect summer romance!
I was in the mood for something sweet & steamy and this fit the bill. I thought both characters added a lot of heart to the story and I enjoyed their romance. There are small town shenanigans, steamy nights and a fun grumpy x sunshine dynamic. This is low angst so not much drama wise happens but I didn't mind that. This felt like watching a feel-good romcom.
I thought the audiobook was done really well too. Narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life.
Would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for small town, opposites attract/grumpy x sunshine trope, friends with benefits to more, low angst and feel good romance. Perfect summer or beach read!
Nothing like pulling an all nighter to finish a book because you can’t stop reading! But let me tell you, this one was so worth it! This is the second book I’ve read by this author and they are quickly becoming one of my favorites! Tara just has a way to suck you in with her writing and it makes you feel like you are right there with the characters.
Sage is one of my favorite FMCs! She is so full of love and lives her life to the fullest. She believes in living life as if no one is watching and enjoying every second of it. Fisher is struggling with losing his sister and now raising his niece. He is also dealing with job burn out. I absolutely adored these two together! I laughed and cried with them. This one really hits the emotions! Overall, this was an amazing story and I couldn’t get enough of Sage and Fisher!
I was lucky enough to listen to the audio and Zachary Webber and Karissa Vacker both did an amazing job at portraying these characters. They really made this story come alive for me.
Oh my goodness this was my first Tarah DeWitt book and I was not disappointed! This book was so sweet, surprising and vulnerable! If this book had taught me anything it’s taught me that being present in the moment is so important and to savor all your moments as they are happening! This audiobook was incredible and brought the story to life in a new way! Tarah DeWitt you have a new reader!!!
I listened to an audio story recently and enjoyed the characters and their conversations. There weren't many misunderstandings, which made it easy to follow.
I liked the idea that when one door closes, another one opens, often leading to something more exciting. This was a nice part of the story.
The story also reminded me to appreciate the small things in life, which was a good message. It highlighted how often we overlook the little details that bring joy and meaning to our everyday experiences. From simple gestures of kindness to the beauty of nature, the narrative encouraged me to slow down and savor these moments. It was a gentle reminder that life’s true richness often lies in the small, seemingly insignificant things that we tend to take for granted.
Overall, it was a pleasant and thoughtful experience, highlighting the value of being mindful and optimistic about new
Whether you savor it, or end up binging it like I did, this is a good one. Savor It is a delicious small town romance with just enough spice to add a nice bit of flavor. Add in a healthy serving of chemistry and a couple of well-drawn and likable leads, and you have the recipe for a fantastic and fun romance. I highly recommend adding this to your summer beach reading list. Bon appétit!
Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber did an excellent job narrating the audiobook.
Thank you Tarah DeWitt, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
Loved this one! My favorite part of this book was the quirkiness of the main characters; they didn’t fit the traditional romance molds. Their personalities felt so real and I appreciated that the author developed their background in a plausible way. I felt so many emotions reading this and I can’t help but hope that some of those fire fighting brothers get a book of their own by this author!
I have mixed feelings! I loved the characters for the most part. I loved how Sage and Fisher were together. The spice and romance was great! But…the plot was a little weak. Small town, competition, pairing up for the competition to show her ex that she’s ok…who was only mentioned maybe one more time in the story. I don’t even know if Sage is a farmer, librarian, or flower farmer? And why was Fischer even in the town? It all got lost in there at some point. But in the end I was definitely rooting for them and was happy with their HEA. 😌
Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Tarah Dewitt for the complementary advanced audio copy in exchange for my honest review.
Savor It by Tarah Dewitt is perfect to me! I love how Sage and Fisher first built a friendship and then the relationship came naturally at a perfect pace. The romantic scenes are amazing and the heartbreak within is believable.
(From early on, it seems like this will be a series with the next book focusing on Wren and Ellis. I hope this is true...!)
Karissa Vacker as Sage and Zachary Webber as Fisher are both amazing to listen to.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing me with an ALC.
