What a super cute read!
It follows Sage and Fisher. Fisher who is a hotshot chef coming from New York City has lost his sister and is now in charge of his teenage niece Indy. When Fisher loses his Michelin, he is sent by his boss to Spunce on a sabbatical and consultation on a restaurant opening. He meets Sage and things go from there.
I loved how the author took the time to develop Sage's and Fisher's relationship. I loved the attraction between the two of them.
Though the story did cover some difficult topics, I did like the way the author handled it and how well it flowed within the story.
The only thing I wish it had covered maybe Fisher's and his niece's relationship more as she had suddenly become such a big part of his life.
This was such a quick and fun read that I think is perfect for the summer. The romance is super sweet, the writing is quick and engaging, I found myself hooked into the story fairly quickly.
I got a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange of my honest opinion.
I loved this book so much. This was so sweet and everything I look for in a small town romance. I bounced back and forth between reading this and listening to the audio and it was such an easy read. I absolutely adored Sage. She is the type of woman that I would find myself wanting to be friends with. She is strong willed, funny, caring, and just honestly a good character. I equally loved Fisher, and loved the way he really tried to understand his emotions and was doing his best trying to raise his niece. And he is. chef...YES PLEASE
This was honestly just so a great book. I loved the mental health rep. It seems like just a simple small town story, but there is so much more in depth to this story of difficult things that our main character need to over come. This is a perfect rainy day read or beach read!
A sweet and spicy love story! I really enjoyed it and loved their back and forth! I loved learning about each of their lives and the hardships and wins they had gone through. It made their relationship a lot more meaningful.
CW: it is open door and lots of swears.
Fisher, a previously big-time chef in New York, moves to town to start over. He is grieving the death of his sister, and now he is also raising his rebellious teenage niece, Indy. All the town ladies are curious about the new guy, so they tend to knock on his door just to get the scoop, which becomes quite frustrating for Fisher. He moves in right next door to Sage, who is bright, cheerful, and fun. The two strike a deal which soon turns into more. I absolutely LOVE the fake dating trope!! The characters are well developed and likable. The narrator does a fantastic job. I was about halfway through this book when the arc ended-- I was super bummed! Oh, how I wish I could have finished this one! Not to worry, I will definitely be finishing this one as soon as I am able to obtain a copy! Thank you to Netgalley, Tara Dewitt, and Macmillan Audio for allowing me easy access to the ARC version of this in exchange for an honest review, I will most certainly be posting my updated review ASAP.
Not going to lie, I picked Savor It because I loved the beautiful cover and the story did not disappoint. This was my first book by Tarah DeWitt and I loved it. But I’m kind of a sucker for small town romances.
It has everything I love…

Such a cute book.
I really enjoyed the narrators. They really brought the story to life.
Thanks to NetGalley and MacMillian Audiofor a chance to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
"Savor It" by Tarah DeWitt is a delightful read that I thoroughly enjoyed. With its engaging narrative and compelling characters, it earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me.
I thought this was a very lovely book, and I really liked the audiobook narrators! The plot was sweet, if simple, but still enjoyable. I feel like I was left wanting a little bit more, I appreciated the character's growth throughout the book but I would have loved to see a bit of a stronger ending. Still a lovely read though!
🌈Queer rep: none
Thank you St. Martin's Griffin for the advanced reading copy and Macmillan Audio for the advanced listening copy, receipt of which did not impact my review. #MacAudio2024 Savor It is a beautiful small-town romance set in Spunes, OR. Chef Fisher is on assignment after losing his big city career with his niece, Indy. Many locals aren't sure about the work he's there to do - so some fake dating with beloved local Sage will do the trick, right? Their romance is a great slow burn that was lush and beautifully written, definitely one to savor *ha* this summer! There's a whole cast of characters, including animals, that add to the story. I recommend this one as an ideal summer or fall read! Narrators Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber were also superb; I adored both of their voices and how much extra depth they added to the story.
I’m so glad I requested this tittle. It was my first book by this author but I have to say that it wont be my last. Main reason I requested this book was because one of my favorite narrators was on it. And I love using that as an excuse to read new (to me) authors. And I wasn’t disappointed.
I’m not usually a small town romance person unless there are elements that make me fall in love with the town. One thing I loved was Sage and all her animals. The names were just too funny and the situations involving them always made laugh. I have to say the main reason I loved this town was Sage. Small town romances always have the same recipe. There is one character thats from that town and loves it and raves about it while the other character doesn’t care for it or see the appeal. Sage’s love for the history of the town was what drew me in. It was contagious.
Then we had the side characters. Indy was definitely my fave. That girl had all the sass and wasn’t afraid to show it. I just loved her so much. And her relationship with Sage was too cute.
Overall this book was great and one of my favorites of the year. Can’t wait to read more from the author.
The cover of this book is just so beautiful! That's why I picked it up, but there is so much more charm than just the cover!!
●Set in a small town with sweeping views of the Pacific Northwest which are vividly described, making you feel like your there.
●The connection between Fisher and Sage is authentic and adds depth to the story, while the wit and humor bring the characters to life!
●The book is filled with puns and jokes that add to its charm and will have you laughing out loud.
●Overall, I truly enjoyed this heartwarming rom-com that balances spicy romance with emotional depth.
🎧The narration by Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber brings strength and humor to the characters, making this summer romance even more compelling and enjoyable!!
It was impossible not to fall in love with Savor It. Sage is a teacher in the small town of Spunes, OR. She's a bit quirky and wears her heart on her sleeve. Fisher is sent by his boss to Spunes to help open a restaurant after losing his Michelin stars and a bit of his sanity in the process. He also comes as a package deal as he is also raising his niece. Sage and Fisher end up striking up a deal: Fisher will help Sage with her canoe race and Sage will help Fisher make the town move a bit faster in the permits part of the restaurant. I thought Sage and FIsher worked really well together, complimenting each other nicely. I also loved that Fisher didn't dismiss Sage's "small town" thoughts on what the restaurant should feature on the menu.
At times Savor It was emotionally charged, but there is plenty of banter and humor to lighten things up.
This book has got me headed down another backlist rabbit hole! I need more Tarah DeWitt in my life!
Savor It is incredible! Sage is a strong female character, she finds the beauty in the little things that make a big difference and doesn’t sell herself short. Fisher is burnt out, navigating parenting and his grief after loosing his sister.
In comes a rabid vacuum and suddenly Sage and Fisher’s worlds collide in Spunes. It was a slow burn, but oh so worth it!
The banter is laugh out loud in public funny. Sage's empathy, and Fisher’s unwavering support! These two show their love over and over again in the most thoughtful and kind ways. The cast of characters is phenomenal, I especially love Fisher and Indy's dynamic. Sage's homestead is perfection and her outfits are even better!
I read the ARC and immediately did a reread when I received an ALC. The narration was perfection. I felt like I was listening to Sage and Fisher! I highly recommend listening.
Karissa Vacker might be one of my fav narrators! She does such a great job with the fmc in this novel. I was drawn to Sage in such a good way that it helped me enjoy listening to this book.
This is actually my first book by this author, but I have been wanting to read Funny Feelings for a while now and since I have finally read one of her books, I have found that I like her writing. This book had an easy small town romance flow that I am always seeking. All the characters were likable and I am glad the book ended how it did. It’s hard to voice my opinion on it without giving anything away, but I am glad it wasn’t your typical main characters having an epiphany. The author allowed others to be a part of it which I thought was nice.
Unfortunately there weren’t any parts of the book where I was completely blown away, I felt like this was a great filler book with some emotion. One that makes you feel good but doesn’t have you sweating or gripping the arm of your chair for, which isn’t always a bad thing in my eyes! Still recommend for those in search of something like that. 🤍
As some who is not normally an audiobook person, this book may have changed my mind. I absolutely loved the story and the narrators were perfect. I could picture them as Sage and Fisher. The dual POV was perfect. I will 100% be recommending the aduibook version of this book as much as the print copy.
Fun, summer romance. I don’t think I’ve read a #fakerelationship trope before and honestly it was not exactly what I expected, but the book was good, very punny in several aspects.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Absolute perfection! This audiobook was everything I ever dreamed of. I had already read and loved Savor It, but listening to it was a whole different experience. The narrators completely brought these characters to life and PERFECTLY captured their personalities. 10/10 recommend this audio!!
Audiobook review:
Savor It by Tarah Dewitt
This contemporary romance brings together a small town teacher, female MC, Sage and famous chef and city boy, Fisher together. Fisher is sent to the small town to try and get a fresh start again after loosing one of his Michelin stars. He is given another chance to start up another restaurant in the town. He’s been struggling with his passion for cooking and is now the main guardian of his, niece. There, he meets animal lover, Sage. Sage is bothered that everyone is pitying her after her ex or 5 years broke up with her and is now engaged. They come up with a plan to fake date each other so that Fisher can win over the townspeople in order to open up the restaurant sooner and Sage plans to win a canoe competition with the help of Fisher. She wants to prove to herself and others that she can do it without her ex. Fake dating leads to real feelings and the two fall for each other. Only, Fisher’s niece isn’t happy about staying in the small town and reminds him that he has a life in the city. The two think it won’t workout after all, but Fisher’s road to self discovery puts him on a different path.
This book was so fun to listen to. It was light, funny, endearing, and delightful. I found it refreshing and a great palate cleanser between heavier reads. This book was full of heartfelt moments and just the right amount of spice. The narration was superb, making the storyline easy to follow, feel the emotions in the story, and find the characters relatable.
This is my second Tarah Dewitt book and it won’t be my last. I love her style of writing and plan to pick up more of her books. I highly recommend this audiobook!
Thank you @macmillan.audio for the free ALC in exchange for my own opinions.

#SavorIt
Swoony, steamy, and heart achingly sweet.
This is the comforting small town romance I didn’t know I needed. A perfect blend of what is so lovable about hallmark movies, without too much cheesy melodrama. Believable characters and a sweet slow build, everything about reading this was exactly what the title implies. A treat, something to savor.
There’s nothing more refreshing than leading characters than can be OPEN about their feelings! No miscommunication, no hiding how they felt, both MCs were honest and vulnerable throughout this book and my goodness it was SO nice to see!
I adored this book and both Fisher & Sage were loveable main characters that you wanted to cheer for from the get go.
It was sexy, it was funny, and it was full of love. Such a great read!
Thank you Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to listen to this one before its release day!
Tarah DeWitt’s new novel Savor It is a grumpy-sunshine, friends-to-lovers romance that is set in the small town of Spunes, Oregon. The story follows Sage Byrd, a young woman who has lived in Spunes all her life. In fact, she was practically raised by the townsfolk and her brothers after losing her parents when she was only five. The people of Spunes love Sage and worry about her when her ex announces he is marrying someone else. Sage wants to do something to prove to everyone that she is fine and so she enters The Festival of Spunes, the town’s annual summer competition.
Sage needs help though and that’s where the male love interest, chef Fisher Lange, enters the picture. Fired from his job for costing his restaurant a Michelin star, Fisher has been given a chance to redeem himself by coming to Spunes to help open up a new restaurant.
Fisher isn’t excited about relocating to Spunes, even if it is only temporary, but he doesn’t have a choice. Plus, it will give him a chance to bond with his niece Indy, now that he has custody of her. Fisher ends up renting a place right next to Sage, & as soon as Sage and Fisher meet, the sparks flew between them and I was hooked!
The chemistry between Sage and Fisher is everything. Once Sage gets past Fisher’s gruff exterior, they immediately bond and they’re just so cute and fun together. I was especially amused by their mutual love of puns, which made their banter especially hilarious.
What I enjoyed most though was how they banded together to help and support each other. Fisher helps Sage with her competition, while Sage helps Fisher come up with a menu that will appeal to both locals and to tourists. Along the way, Sage even helps Fisher when it comes to bonding with Indy. That special bond between Sage and Fisher had me rooting so hard for Fisher to decide to stay in Spunes.
The audiobook was narrated by Karissa Vacker & Zachary Webber. They do a fantastic job & I ended up binge-listening to the book in a day!
