"Trouble is always with us. It's how we react in trouble that matters."

The unflappable and rock-solid Moose definitely gets unmoored in this book as he tries to protect Tillie and her daughter from dangerous thugs and law enforcement alike. It's a wild ride through Alaska as Tillie and Hazel's story unravels and Tillie gets in too deep with the tentacles from her past. Moose is so dependable, trust-worthy, and protective to the core but also needs faith lessons and reminders from his little brother Axel as circumstances spin out of control. Tillie is one tough cookie and has all the credentials to take care of herself but Moose's tenderness and persistence dig under her armor to let love and vulnerability in. There is plenty of fast-paced action and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I loved the subplot between Shep and London and can't wait to read their story next. Cameo appearances from the Kingston siblings were quite delightful throughout the book.

ONE LAST PROMISE, the third book in Susan May Warren's popular Alaska Air One Rescue series, features Moose Mulligan, a former Navy rescue chopper pilot now leader of a successful search and rescue team and Tillie Young, the mysterious waitress Moose can't get out of his head even though she disappears without a trace after turning down his request for a date. Moose is shocked when Tillie shows up on his doorstop, savagely beaten and begging for his help in rescuing her kidnapped daughter, Hazel, from an evil man from her past. Moose promises to bring her daughter home safely and with his SAR Team covering his back, he begins a search that quickly spirals out of control. As the story progresses, readers learn there's more to the kidnapping than Tillie admits to, putting everyone involved in dire danger; however, Moose gave his word and while he's failed before, this time failure is not an option.

Author Susan May Warren expertly draws readers in and keeps them on high alert from beginning to end in her latest high-octane, action-packed thriller. The Alaskan wilderness provides a dramatic, breath-taking backdrop for the action exploding on each page, while a torrid pace keeps readers fully engaged in the tautly delivered plot line. Main and support characters are authentic and supportive, welcoming readers into their lives. Rounding out the suspense thriller vibes, a sweet, emotional romance ignites despite Moose and Tillie's reluctance to commit to a relationship before each settles their disturbing pasts.

ONE LAST PROMISE is a well-plotted, highly entertaining romance suspense story with strong Christian themes woven throughout. Characters are repeatedly challenged to trust in their faith while looking to a higher power for answers to prayers. Fans of romance suspense with strong Christian overtones will enjoy this book.

"One Last Promise is an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride from start to finish. From the Alaskan wilderness to Miami vibes, this book has all the action—with a healthy dose of romance on the side. Perfect!

Moose spent a year eating late-night meals just to have a few minutes with Tillie, the waitress who drew his interest. She shoots him down when he asks for a date, then disappears shortly after. Showing up out of the blue, battered and bruised, asking for help is the last thing he expects to see. What is going on?

Tillie has no place to turn when her daughter is taken by an evil man, but maybe the answer is Moose, the one person she wishes she could trust with her story. Will he help her without pushing for something she can never give?

As the stakes become higher and the danger more intense, will they get Hazel back before it’s too late? Both have relied on their own strength for a long time, but maybe this is where they need to grab onto faith and trust the One who already has Hazel in His hands.

I lived in Alaska for years and felt like I was traveling along through familiar territory with the characters. I loved this book.

I was given a copy courtesy of Revell through NetGalley and Interviews & Reviews. This is my honest opinion of the book."
