Since the Day We Fell by Kerk Murray is a sweet, feel-good romance with a lot of heart. The chemistry between the characters is charming, and the small-town setting adds a cozy touch. However, the story feels a bit predictable and lacks depth in some areas, with the plot moving in familiar directions. While it’s a pleasant read, it doesn't bring anything particularly new or surprising to the genre. A solid 3 stars—lovely, but a bit formulaic.

Lisa has inherited a run down inn. Money is owed and she doesn't know how she will come up with money to pay by the deadline. So many bills are behind. Yet she is struggling to recover from her mother's death. Noah is a writer that is needing an escape to rekindle is love of writing. Together they can possibly rebuild the inn. This is a nice romance that was enjoyable to read.

An unlikely pair, Lisa and Noah must decide whether they have the courage to restart and rewrite their futures. This story of hope and possibilities is fraught will challenges and potential detours.
A good book for a commute or vacation. The ending will leave you smiling and satisfied.

Kerk Murray’s Since the Day We Fell is a heartwarming addition to the Hadley Cove Sweet Romance series, delivering a touching story of love, healing, and resilience. With its endearing characters, a charming coastal setting, and a healthy dose of emotional depth, this novel is a delightful escape for readers who appreciate clean, feel-good romances.
The story follows Lisa Miller, a dedicated innkeeper grappling with grief after the recent loss of her mother. Determined to save the family inn, she pours her energy into her work, though the weight of her emotional struggles looms large. Enter Noah Jacobs, a bestselling author seeking solace from his own challenges. When a mischievous dog named Daisy brings them together, the pair embarks on a journey of mutual support and discovery.
Murray excels at crafting characters who feel authentic and relatable. Lisa’s strength in the face of adversity and her journey toward self-reclamation are inspiring. Noah’s struggles with writer’s block and his lingering grief lend depth to his character, making him more than just a romantic lead. Their chemistry is built on meaningful conversations, shared vulnerabilities, and a slow-burn connection that blossoms naturally over the course of the story.
The setting of Hadley Cove plays a significant role in the book’s charm. Murray paints a vivid picture of a tight-knit community where kindness and camaraderie prevail. The locals rally around Lisa and Noah in ways that feel heartwarming and genuine, adding to the cozy, Hallmark-like atmosphere of the narrative.
While the romance is sweet and uplifting, the novel doesn’t shy away from heavier themes, such as domestic abuse and grief. These elements are handled with care and sensitivity, adding emotional weight and depth to the story. However, some readers might find the pacing a bit slow in places, as the characters’ personal growth and the development of their relationship take precedence over dramatic twists or action-packed moments.
Overall, Since the Day We Fell is a tender and hopeful tale about finding love and support in unexpected places. With its richly drawn characters, heartfelt themes, and an idyllic setting, this book will resonate with fans of clean, character-driven romances. Whether you’re a newcomer to Hadley Cove or a returning visitor, this story is sure to leave you with a smile.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Lisa and Noah. Lisa’s mother passed away two months ago, she left the family’s inn to Lisa. Noah is an author. He is having writers block so he comes to Lisa’s hometown. He meets Lisa at the beach while he deciding what to do. Lisa tells him about her family’s inn. He goes there and gets a room. They start dating. They fall in love.

This book felt a little too Hallmark movie to me, and not in a great way. Although there was nothing inherently wrong with the story, it felt very cliche and the romance was not believable for me. It was basically instant-love and there wasn’t really any tension. The secondary plot of the MFC’s abusive ex was very sporadic. If you love fluffy romances, you may enjoy this book. I give it 2.5 stars rounded up.

At forty-two, Lisa Miller's life takes an unexpected turn when she inherits her late mother's struggling beachside bed-and-breakfast and her rescue dog, Daisy. Just as she's finding her footing, in walks Noah Jacobs—a famous author plagued by writer's block, looking for a change of scenery in Hadley Cove. A charming mishap with Daisy sets the stage for a creative collaboration that could save both Noah's novel and Lisa's business.
But when past secrets and ex-lovers come knocking, their newfound love is put to the test.
Loved it to the moon and back. Will recommend to others.

This was a wonderful romance. The kind you want to read and dream about always. So many delightful moments.

About the Book: Lisa Miller and Noah Jacobs meet via a charming misadventure by her dog Daisy. The strangers quickly become friends and soon advance toward something much more special. When their collective pasts storm into their lives causing havoc, the two have to decide the course of action they are willing to take, if they are to make things work.
About the Characters:
Lisa - > Driven to succeed, still emotionally raw from her recent losses, learning how to heal from domestic abuse, learning how to be strong, anxious about the current stressors in her life, very supportive of Noah
Noah - > Writer's block, still dealing with the loss of his loved one, good guy who genuinely tries to help where needed, good friend to Lisa, doesn't always look before he leaps, fights for what he wants
About the Community: Hadley Cove is a charming place. The community of people are helpful to those they care about. I loved how they rallied around Lisa when she stood up for herself. I also like how they accepted Noah into the fold.
My Final Say: This was a lovely story. The characters were kind and had good hearts. They suited each other well. The community was compassionate; I appreciated that they cheered for one of their own in such a big way.

Lisa and Noah don’t know each other. But Noah needs a place to stay in Hadley Cove to,finish writing his book. So he ends up staying at Lisa’s Inn.
However, both Lisa and Noah have problems going on their lives. Lisa needs to pay back money on the inn when her Mother owned it, as well as a ex. Noah, is escaping an ex also.
Both Lisa and Noah seem to have a connection after ex’s keep trying to cause problems and the inn needing work, they are still trying to work a way to measure their feelings.
A touching story of moving on.

This was a very sweet and enjoyable romance between Noah and Lisa. I love that they are both in their 40's and having a second chance at love.
This is book 2 that takes place in Hadley Cove and I'm planning on reading book 3 for sure!
If you like Irene Hannon's Hope Harbor, you'd definitely enjoy this as well.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

A sweet romance. I appreciated how the story hit the highlights of the events in their lives. It did not go into endless detail of how they spent their time refurbishing the inn. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I loved this book! It’s book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading book 1 just because it’s also amazing. The writing is so easy to read and the story is beautiful. It’s about love, second chances and healing but so much more. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series as am sure they will also be amazing. Also there is a little something extra at the end of the book that adds a nice touch. Loved it!

My Opinion:
This book was the cutest beach read. I enjoyed the whole book, I felt like it was a hallmark movie waiting to happen. I did not read the first book in the series but this read great as a stand alone. I was rooting for both main characters, Lisa and Noah. Noah is an author from New York, looking to clear his mind. Lisa is an Inn owner trying to save her Inn. It does involve some trigger warnings, domestic abuse and assault. It had no smut or bad language which was enjoyable to read.

After the death of her mother Lisa inherits her beachside bed-and-breakfast and her rescue dog, Daisy. The and she is trying to make things work. A famous author, Noah, walks into her life and struggling with his latest book they collaborate in a most unusual way.
What will the outcome be for them both?

This is a book for a weekend beach read. I didn't feel drawn in to the characters emotions or stories - so it was more an objective read rather than an immersive read. It seemed like the drama and love story were a bit forced and unrealistic.
However, sometimes that's what you might be in the mood for. It can be overwhelming to get caught up in some stories when you just want an easy escape from reality. And in that case, this is a perfect book.
Enjoy.

This book was pretty good, though it honestly felt a bit rushed. I didn’t recognize how much time had passed until a specific mention of weeks having passed was noted.
I did like the characters, but it feels there was more depth to both of them to be explored. Honestly, I feel as though more time could have been spent exploring their personalities instead of overly verbose descriptions in every other sentence.

Since the Day We Fell is book two in the Hadley Cove Sweet Romance series by Kerk Murray. I enjoyed this story. An endearing read with a heartwarming romance. A feel good story that will make you smile.

I received this book from NetGalley.
Lisa sometimes acts much younger than her age. When she says she would 'literally die' if these people followed her back on Instagram - it just seems like something someone much younger would say.
Also, I know that Lisa is a huge fan of Noah but she almost immediately tells him about the financial difficulties. That seems a bit odd, especially knowing who he is.
Noah and Lisa get into a relationship but they're still keeping secrets from each other about their past relationships. Noah gets texts from his ex and doesn't even say anything, even after the ex rocks up in the same place as them!
Lisa just giving up on Noah and not believing him is just annoying. Even after she's seen what his ex has done in tabloids before, she doesn't even give him the benefit of the doubt, knowing how she knows him.
Also, Lisa needs money for the inn but what does she do? She doesn't seem to actually have a real job at the beginning. Surely she could be working and earning some kind of decent money while waiting for the inn to be up and running?
The whole Justin storyline seems forced. He just pops up randomly a couple of times and then there's a huge scene right towards the end. I don't know if the book needed it or if it added anything.
