I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book, which is part health book and part cookbook, had some interesting information about insulin resistance. I found the information helpful. There were also a lot of delicious looking recipes!

I read Why We Get Sick a few years ago and it was full of valueable information. This cookbook starts with a summarization of that book. I really liked the approach this book has, not laying blame on anyone as other "diet" or "self-help" type books I've read in the past.

The recipes are well written with ingredients you can easily find in most supermarkets. I appreciated the focus on protein which is unlike keto that focuses more on fat. From personal experience, I have found having a higher protein intake helps with managing a lower carb intake.

Overall, this is a well done book and I look forward to incorporating a lot of what I learned and the recipes into my everyday life.

Thank you to NetGalley and BenBella books for this E-ARC.

It is so extremely interesting how we work out, do our health care routine, take care of our outside body. But we really don’t know that much about what we eat.

Growing up in Sweden and then moving to America was weird. The things that are allowed to be in American food versus what is banned in most other countries is wild.

I have just changed my eating habits to being vegan. There was mostly meat recipes in this book but I will be trying them without the meat for sure.
