Kind is a strange story of people having split personalities, and using that to frame the lead for murder. Didn’t really enjoy this one…the writing seemed very simple.
I had high hopes for this book and although it let me down in the end, I did manage to finish it without much trouble. Although some proof reading needs to be done, it was a simple, easy read.
However, nothing happens, the idea for the plot is there but for me it lacked depth, all the characters were just one dimensional, nothing was offered to help build their personality or make me warm to them, they were just names on a page unfortunately, and there seemed to be a few of them that were jusy unnecessary for the storyline.
Loads of good ideas and plot twists here but again they fell short, 115 pages wasn't enough to go in depth into any topic, for example; the multiple personalities topic was skimmed over, the other personalities only mentioned by name breifly., which left me almost thinking "what was even the point of making it a thing" a lot of the times I felt nothing tied together much and was unrelated to each other, everything was rushed.
A thing that irked me about Simon is that he kept "plopping" himself down in seats? Can't you sit normally man? Although I do like the word plopped
A bit of unnecessary repeating at the end where we go through an incident with Simon and then he relays the exact same incident word for word to a police officer, seems like a waste of a page, we were there with him, we know, no need for repeating it, felt like there was a word count to be reached at this point.
All in all a disappointing read, not much happening although the bones were there and could be such a great story if it only dug a bit deeper into characters backgrounds and the plot to create more of a creepy, psychological feel.
