This book had many twists and turns that, at times made it impossible to stop! Overall, I found the book really enjoyable and a fun read exploring different perspectives and time jumps. However, the story felt like at times it was quick and suspenseful but then slowed down and dragged until the next fast plot point making parts of it less enjoyable. Also, the ending seemed to be lacklustre and didn’t really answer many questions when it felt like the plot was building up to answer all these questions. The book was an enjoyable read overall but it just felt like it fell short at the end. I would love to check out other stories by the author though as I did enjoy the writing style overall!
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!

Well, this one had me hooked right from start to finish and I raced through this to find out just what had happened.
Lauren and Alex met at grief counselling and bonded over the shared experience of their siblings having gone missing. Through their support for each other, their love grew and now married, they continue to support each other as they search for answers.
Having spent the last twelve years searching, Lauren finally receives the call she's been dreading - Ellie's body has been found!
I really loved the early twist that a photo was found on Ellie's body, showing Lauren's husband, Alex, and his brother Clive, had actually known and met Ellie around the time of their disappearance.
I'm hoping this isn't too big of a spoiler because there's so much more to this than that!
I actually found the early chapters (after the photo discovery) a little repetitive.
We keep going over the same narrative of doubt that Lauren has for her husband - and this is emphasised in quite a few ways - which made me a little suspicious....and made me try to come up with alternative theories for this photo.
Once we got past this and onto the rest of the story and investigation, the pace picks up and we race through more and more clues and discoveries.
The book is told purely from Lauren's pov so it was easy to get sucked into this perspective and I really sympathised with her and what she was going through - especially now not having the support of her husband.
This was packed with twists and turns throughout the second half of the book, which turned things on its head and made us start to see things from a different angle.
I felt that Lauren's personality changed abruptly at this point - but after being a bit shocked by the change, it soon became clear why.
I really liked the plot of this one - I definitely didn't see much of it coming before it was revealed and the ending definitely took on a strange kind of twisted vibe - but this really worked.
A quick and intriguing read - maybe not so much thriller but more family drama/mystery - but enjoyable all the same.
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

Special thank you to @thrillerbookloversthepulse and @netgalley for my the opportunity to read and review this book!
Twelve years have passed since Lauren’s sister, Ellie, had gone missing. Each day she waits for any piece of news that could explain what happened to her. When the call finally comes it isn’t good news. Ellie’s body had been found. Photos were recovered as well. Photos of her husband, Alex, with Ellie the day she went missing.
My thoughts:
Any book that has someone go missing immediately catches my interest. Especially when you add in the mystery surrounding the sister’s husband.
I do have to say that this is more of a slow burn thriller. So, if you make it through the slow moving middle the ending will most likely shock you! At least that was the case for me!
The description of the New Orleans setting was so fun. It was so immersive and really made me feel as if I was there again.
I’m lucky I had to opportunity to listen to this one as an audiobook. The narration was done by Stephanie Cannon and I felt she did an amazing job with the many characters.
I sped through this book in no time! I loved that the setting was in New Orleans and that the author used such vivid descriptions I felt like I was there. This was a quickly paced and very entertaining popcorn thriller. While being fast paced, there were points where I felt it dragged and was slightly repetitive. I would've liked to have heard more from the husband's perspective. The story was told in dual timelines, which I absolutely love! They added to the suspense building, and kept me guessing about what would happen at the end. The characters were well developed. I found myself questioning everyone at one point or another. Stephanie Cannon did a great job with the narration. She really brought these characters to life! Overall this was a fun and entertaining read.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

Gripping and it kept me guessing!
When the beginning of the story already kept my hooked, I knew I had to finish this. One of the sisters was killed, a photo was found. The other sister recognized the man who was in the photo was her beloved husband. The story then led you to trust your husband or not.
The secrets behind which created the perfect backbone of the thriller. The characters were smartly crafted. The sisterhood and the husband. Who to trust?
The twists were great and exciting and surprising. I love the storyplot and such an enjoyable read.
Many thanks to NetGalley, bookouture and the author for my copy.

This proved to be an enjoyable listen with a few twists along the way. I enjoyed the flashbacks to Lauren and Ellie's childhood, and as the past was unveiled, I began to develop my suspicions about what was going on in the present. However, the conclusion was stunning and unexpected! I had both a digital and audio copy of this book and I prefered the digital version. I didn't feel the narrator did a good job altering her voice and after a time, I switched to the digital version.
When I found out Bookouture was publishing & organizing a tour for one of my automatic read authors, Georgina Cross, I was ecstatic! One of my favorite publishers and one of my favorite authors teaming up was so exciting!
Georgina Cross, Amazon charts bestseller, again delivers a jaw dropping twisted ending in another amazing piece of exceptional work that she nails every time! She took me on a roller coaster ride until the chilling end in this psychological thriller!
The audiobook is narrated by Stephanie Cannon, who provides the perfect voice to capture this story.
Thank you, Georgina Cross, Bookouture, Bookouture audio & Netgalley for my copy & audiobook! All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I was hooked from the start. It kept me on the edge of my seat. It had some many twists and turns that you don’t see that ending coming.
• Spouses with missing siblings
• Secrets
• 12 years later
• Flashbacks to childhood
I really enjoyed the narrator Stephanie Canon did a really good job. I was able to complete the audio in one day. You just want to keep listening!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ARC.
I won’t lie, I definitely have mixed feelings about this new release… I really enjoyed listening to this book, and was dying to find out the connection Lauren’s husband had in her sister’s disappearance!
As the a story plays out and new information is uncovered I was completely wrapped up! That is until the twist…
I really try not to give away spoilers in my reviews, and while I promise I am not going to give away the ending, the next portion of my review may give away information that could help piece things together…
I love thrillers, especially when there is a twist that completely catches you off guard! This book definitely had an unexpected end, but I really struggled with the lies and misconceptions the main character had us as the reader believing throughout the whole book. And the book ended with a slight cliffhanger that to me left things feeling unresolved.
Overall I really did enjoy the book, and even the ending was alright. I just personally wasn’t the biggest fan of how it was all put together….
Thank you to #netgalley and @bookouture for the advance audiobook copy!
4/5 Stars! Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this audiobook of My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross narrated by Stephanie Cannon.
I love NetGalley for this purpose. This is my first book for this author and she did not disappoint! It was seriously a fast pace audiobook that I really enjoyed and had to listen through. I listened to it in one day and very easy to follow. The characters were easy to follow and not annoying! haha. I like how direct this book was and it was too mysterious. It actually felt realistic and the end was a pretty good twist at the end, will Lauren or Alex confess first?
Thanks to the narrator, Stephanie Cannon, for delivering the different characters and energy she had for this story. Great job!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I could not predict what was going to happen! You think you know what all happened but the reveal is shocking and it ends on a little bit of a cliffhanger!
What happened to Lauren's sister? And was her husband involved in any way? There are a lot of secrets that come out in this one and putting the pieces together seems easy enough but it for sure isn't!
This one is perfect for Frieda McFadden fans!
⭐⭐⭐⭐
My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross, an audiobook narrated by Stephanie Cannon is a fast-paced, engaging page-turning domestic drama with a good twist at the end.
The storyline was promising to reach five stars but something was missing. I liked that the book felt realistic but it was missing the suspense, heart-pounding feelings, and situations that are making you gasp.
It's a good twist at the end but I can't say it made me feel surprised. You could easily guess all involved parties.
What was positive - I wanted to know what would be at the end so I kept reading. I liked the characters. I liked that they weren't keeping things to relieve at the end of the book. That was the first existing thing that caught my attention! Usually, it would be "OMG I must keep this secret until..."
In this book, Lauren went straight to the point! I was secretly excited "You go, girl!"
Special shout out to Stephanie Cannon! I loved her narration! In some way, I believe she made this book more enjoyable! The voices she made! So cute!
Lauren and Alex both lost their younger siblings so they know how to emotionally support each other. Alex ticks all the boxes of the perfect husband until Lauren gets a call from the New Orleans police department, saying they've found her sister's body and along with the body, they also find some pictures. Pictures from the day her sister went missing. Pictures where Lauren can see her husband... Alex never said he knew her sister... what else is he lying about?
Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this audiobook!
A good thriller that keeps you asking what happened and what aren’t we being told. I definitely had thoughts of what i thought happened and was pleasantly surprised that I had it wrong. Just wish the ending was more complete.
Thank you Georgina Cross, Netgalley and Bookouture for the audio Arc of My Perfect Husband.
Narrated by Stephanie Cannon
This is the first book I've read of Georgina's book and really liked the overall structure and pace of the book. The narrative starts off with the main character's sister ( first POV ) has gone missing and a body turns up with photos in the pocket. With the police investigating and the photos linking her dead sister to Alex, her husband, the plot takes some great twists and turns which has a great final pay off at the end. The writing is well paced, building tension with every twist and new information that comes to light via the police investigation. There is also some chapters dedicated to the sisters lives which builds up their characters and what they were like within school.
I have listened to a few books by Bookouture which have used Stephanie Cannon as the narrator and I find her voice easy to listen to, recognisable and relatable. I find her voice has great pace and emphasis is placed correctly depending on if she is building tension within the narrative, surprise or candor.
Im looking forward to reading more of Georgina's books and hearing more narrations from Stephanie Cannon!
I was approved as an ARC for this book, I was excited going into this book and had no clue what to expect. It started very slowly but I promise you when it started to pick up boy did it pick all the way up. With a twist that I never expected or saw coming this book turned into something else. I highly recommend reading this book. Such a well told and amazing story with unpredictable twists.
This book had me guessing from the very beginning! There were many twists that I absolutely did not see coming. Just when I thought I had something figured out - TWIST! It was a great book from the beginning to the end. I would recommend this book to others to read.
Unfortunately although I was excited to listen to this one and it really had potential , I just can’t get past the simplistic and repetitive writing style.
We heard the same story about the missing sister and how she didn’t trust her husband anymore multiple times through out the story. The “twists” were not all shocking.
I was hoping the ending would salvage it but alas it didn’t.
I did think the narration was good so that kept me from DNF this one.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book! The pacing was excellent, and the suspense was built up brilliantly. My only critique would be that I wish there was a more conclusive ending, which is why I didn't give it an extra star.
The story might seem predictable at first, but it's actually full of surprises. It's a unique and engaging book.
Lauren and her husband Alex both have siblings that disappeared years ago. When new information about Lauren's missing sister, Ellie, comes to light, it sets off a series of unexpected twists and jaw-dropping revelations.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was hooked by chapter one. This story started right away and I NEEDED to know what happened.
Lauren and her husband, Alex, appear to have built a strong marriage and a picture perfect life together. Some lies strengthen marriages and some lies destroy life as you know it.
Lauren’s little sister, Ellie, went missing one night in New Orleans 12 years ago. Even though its been more than a decade, Ellie and her father still hold out hope that she will come how safe and sounds. Over the course of these 12 years though, life has continued for Lauren. She meets the love of her life at a community grief meeting and the bond over the lost of a sibling. Alex also has a missing brother, Clive.
One day Lauren receives a phone call from the New Orleans police saying they found Ellie‘s body and photos were found with her. Who’s keeping secret’s? How knows what happened that night 12 years ago?
Spoilers ahead….. (won’t be posted on good reads)
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I think the few things I didn’t love are 100% just personal preference and no fault of the authors.
The way the twist was written, of Lauren actually being there in New Orleans, made me feel like I couldn’t trust the Lauren. I like when twists like this are written in a way that even the main character learns she can’t even trust her own memory. I almost feel like if Lauren some how got hit in the head and lost all memory of that night, I would have continues to love her character.
Second, I didn’t love was how 12 years later Lauren and her dad kind of acted like not finding her body would have been better and they are besides themselves learning Ellie, in fact, has passed away. I know this isn’t a real story, but I don’t think too many people would still think their child is still alive and most times finding the body does give the family closure.
Lastly, I wish there was a true ending!!!! I need to know what happened. It felt like getting super in to a true crime case but learning its still unsolved. This is a personal preference but I can’t stand when the author leaves the ending to be interpreted by the reader. I need to at least know what is going on in Alex’s head because I need to know if he masterminded this situation or if Lauren is the villain who played victim the entire book. After writhing this point out, it does make me (frustratingly) like the book more. (Laughing to myself).
Overall, if you like Stacy Willingham, Mary Kubica, or Sally Hepworth books, you’ll enjoy this one.
I received the audio book from NetGalley. The narration by Stephanie Cannon was great! I listened to it in one sitting!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for an arc of My Perfect Husband!
Well, I didn't see that last twist coming! You never really know someone... even someone you married. 🕵️♂️🕵️♂️🕵️♂️
Publisher's summary
My sister is dead. Did I marry her killer?
The moment I first gazed into Alex's soulful gray eyes, I knew I'd met the man I wanted to spend my life with. And I was right. When my beloved sister vanished, Alex put up posters and wiped away my tears after bad dream—she put me back together. But when police pull a crumpled photo from my dead sister's pocket, and I see my husband's familiar face smiling back at me, my perfect world shatters.
Smoothing out the faded picture, I get shivers down my spine. I pray it's a mistake, because I thought they'd never met. Was I wrong to trust the man I married?
The color drains from Alex's face when I hand the photograph to him, and his explanation just doesn't add up. I wonder if my sister called him out on his lies. Did she push Alex too far? Or did he push her?
As I look at the man I promised to love forever, I realize he must not know that I don't trust him. If he killed my sister, am I next?
But I won't let him hurt me. My husband has no idea what I'm capable of, and how far I'll go to keep myself alive.
