This book was written really well, it was cute and fast-paced. Really enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading more from this author.
This was a VERY funny twist on one of my favorite tropes. I love reading romances that feature older protagonists, as I feel like a lot of what I read are college-aged main characters. This was a fun change!
I love the second chance romance trope but not sure this book was for me. The FMC was a little annoying and frustrating at times but still enjoyable largely.
I generally try to read books with characters around my age or younger, a life chapter I’ve lived through and can identify with, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone with this and give it a shot — just not up my alley.
Onjectively though, the banter and the writing was REALLY GOOD and funny, so i’m still giving it four stars. Maybe I’ll try again in 10 years when I (hopefully) have kids and life experience and can relate a little bit more.
This was a just a great read. I was just all in the story.
Loved the MCs. Lovely written book. i enjoyed more than I expected I would
I requested this book solely on the momma Mia reverse trope mentioned. And it did not disappoint. This is was such a good book!!
I will Definitely be on the lookout for more by this author!
Thank you NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for a copy of this book.
First of all, a huge thank you to NetGalley for this ARC! This book was so much fun to read! It was refreshing, witty and endearing. The banter was top notch, the characters were great and the tension was 🔥! I would definitely be interested to read more!
I binge read this book in one night. I found it to be very witty. This was make a perfect summer read. Moira and Frank’s story was so much fun. I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and the banter between these two was * chefs kiss*👌. The story is set between mostly LA and Greece, and I loved how the writing was so descriptive and detailed that I could easily visualize these locations. Super cute read!
I enjoyed this book. It was the first book by this author for me and I think I will read more in the future.
This was a refreshing read by Carol Mason - it's rare to find a fun, flirty rom-com with the main characters in their 40s! I am a huge Mamma Mia fan so anything even remotely adjacent will catch my eye, and this book certainly did! The plot was surprisingly unique and I was able to connect with Moira a lot throughout the story. When winter rolls around and you need an escape, don't miss this one!! I'll be over here, patiently waiting for Mason to write a sequel...
Loved this book! It was a good book to read on the beach. I really like second chance romance books!
I I picked up and put this book down so many times but in the end it just wasn’t for me. Just wasn’t a huge fan of parents meddling in their children’s love life.
I gave his 3.5 stars. It was an engaging book but at
Times I felt frustrated with the female main character. It felt like she was the roadblock to things she wanted.
Second chance romances are one of my favorite tropes. These characters were hilarious, dazzling, and so unbelievably lovable! I really hope that the author keeps writing more!!
I will happily admit that it was the gorgeous brightly coloured covered that captured my initial attention but after glancing at the blurb it confirmed that I definitely had to give this book a go...
.. and the author too as I've not read anything by them before. And I'm glad I gave this a shot as it was highly enjoyable.
I loved the dynamics between Moira and Frank, and their plotting to split up their children's relationship, and their text message exchanges are great fun.
And the following their kids half way around the world from LA to Greece is brilliant, and the story between them really gets going once they are on Greek soil.
The scenes in Athens around the Plaka reminded me of my short time of Athens and everything that was described in Santorini off season, reminded me of the start of season in Zante the summer I worked there - complete with the cold and weather!
Oh to be Harriet and Aiden, young and in love, they really made me envious, of things that I never had, and I'm more Moira's age but without any of her experiences.
Moira spends the book torn in what to do about her husband back in England, she is convinced he is cheating, but instead of talking it through rationally, she basically spends 3 months ignoring of all his messages - ok that sounds like something I would do!
This was just a highly enjoyable escapist novel that made my cold fade away into the background, and I was totally focused on my enjoyment of the words of this story. Definitely a great introduction for me to this author, and I'll be curious to see what she writes next.
Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This was a cute book! It started out slow for me, but the characters grew on me..
I was surprised to read in the summary that the characters were 45 and 42, when they read much older to me. Ultimately, however, the romance felt exciting and made for a fun summer read.
Carol Mason's "Second Chance Romance" is akin to a wild ride through the highs and lows of romantic relationships! I was engrossed with Moira and Frank's journey from beginning to end, from dislike at first sight to surprising romance.
Mason crafts a charming story that is full of heart, comedy, and unexpected turns. For those who like a little romance and adventure, this book is the ideal getaway because of its gorgeous Greek backdrop and sizzling hot tub scenes.
Since I can't relate to Moira's situation—being over 40, married, and having kids—I did find it difficult to connect with her at first. However, as they started traveling to Greece, I found it much easier to read. It was wonderful to see Moira becoming a little more gregarious, and the tone and scenery shift were excellent. Despite the aforementioned, I found it a little easier to relate to and connect with her.
The perfect romance book for the summer, a bingeable read on the beach!
Wonderful, fun and engaging, I really had a great time getting to know the characters and explore the story. 4 shiny stars and recommended.
It wasn't my cup of tea. The writing style is missing something for me. It seems very superficial, the plot is not really thought deeply and so are the characters.
And I'm sorry but you can't call that an Enemies to Lovers.
I'm sure it's someone cup of tea, but not mine.

Second Chance Romance by Carol Mason tells of Moira, recovering frrom the breakup of her marriage due to the infidelity of her husband.
The last thing Moira wants is for her daughter to make the same mistake. This brings her into an unlikely pact with Frank, whose son is engaged to Moira's daughter. This book as not quite what I was expecting and oh my goodness, Moira is an FMC I love to hate, but overall, the comedy was the winner for me in this book
