Just finished it is a delightful read that had me hooked from the very beginning. The story’s unique blend of humor and heartfelt moments made it stand out. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Moira and Frank; their banter and evolving relationship added a layer of depth and realism to the narrative. The way Mason portrays the complexities of love and second chances felt genuine and was a refreshing take on the romantic comedy genre. It’s a book that not only entertains but also resonates with anyone who believes in the possibility of finding love again. The unexpected twists and the emotional journey of the characters truly made this a memorable story.

I found Carol Mason’s work to be captivating and amazing, unable to put her books down. The brilliant writing and compelling characters stayed with me long after I finished the story. Her novels are some of the best I’ve ever read, filled with emotional depth and beautiful storytelling. Each book was unputdownable, and I devoured them in a single sitting. The lasting impact of her writing makes me eager to explore more of her work. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I absolutely loved this! Frank and Moria circle each other endlessly in a way that puts all other 'miscommunication' tropes to shame. Carol's writing of the feelings passing between the characters is palpable but not cringe inducing. Her writing of intimate moments is tender, and the settings are so lush it makes me crave a warm white sand beach.

I would highly recommend this for romance reader and non-romance readers alike!

I was sick today so I managed to binge read this in one sitting. What a way to take a sick day! This was such a fun read! The conversations between Moira and Frank are truly hilarious. And you can almost see yourself in this situation. It feels believable and sincere, in a When Harry Met Sally way almost, or Before Sunrise. I thought from the description that there would be more crazy pranks when they try to split their barely adult kids up but instead of turning silly it stays true and believable. I loved the description of his famous writer's home life on the gorgeous shores of Malibu, and their aimless wandering around Athens which I've never thought of as a beautiful city before but this book makes me want to go back. While i'm not a fan of graphic sex in a novel, when Frank and Moira come together it's hot. Smoking. But the author's beautiful writing stops it from being tacky. There were some deep themes here which you might not expect by the fun cover. So if you just want to chuckle and be entertained, then it might not be for you. It shows how life and love are complicated even for people who are not in their twenties and our dreams of meeting that one person who would be thoroughly right for us never die, even if we blend with other people along the way. I re-read quite a few of the author's wisdoms that crept in and found myself making a note. It's a book you will think about on so many levels. I could definitely see it as a movie or a sequel. And I LOVED the ending. OMG I actually burst into tears of relief. I will look for more by this author.

This book had me hooked the entire time. When I read the blurb, I knew I would love this story immediately, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much it exceeded my expectations. What is familiar about a romance book is how predictable the plot usually is, so it can be very challenging to add elements of surprise. Still, Carol had me gasping throughout the entire book. It was refreshing how this love story was full of real pain and real complications that we usually do not see in other novels.

Sometimes love is complicated and the timing is wrong, and basically all planets align for relationships to be extra hard rather than easygoing and straightforward. I loved the way how Moira was shown as a flawed and conflicted woman who was going through many doubts in her life. I don’t think the plot was meant to criticize or judge her for the life decisions she’s made but to show the real side of life while still making it entertaining for readers. The banter and constant bickering between Moira and Frank are the real reasons why this story is so captivating. You can sense that they have been made for each other since their first interaction. They are literal soulmates who complement each other in their own special way.

The only thing I would have loved about this book is to get an epilogue to see where life has taken Moira and Frank and how the whole family situation is working with them being a couple.

The book made me laugh, feel butterflies, and gasp out loud. It has many ups and downs and is a real love story set in a fictional world.

5* Excellent, far better than I expected

A great plot with believable and likeable characters, I managed to read it in under 24 hours.

The conversations between Frank and Moira, and the texts they sent each other, were genuinely funny. From the moment they first met when they actively disliked each other, they behaved as if they'd known each other for years by teasing, insulting and ending each other's sentences. These two people were made for each other.

A good plot of parents desperately trying to prevent their child from making a relationship mistake. The young couple, Aiden and Harriet, seemed far more mature than their parents.

Well described with lots of atmosphere and a perfect ending.

If you enjoy romantic comedies, this one is quick, lighthearted, with a handful of good surprises tossed in, and you'll be rooting for Moira the whole way through. She's fiery, jaded, and fun.

Moira's life is already in crisis when her only child tells her she's in love with a boy she's only just met. Moira, though impossibly cynical, agrees to meet the boyfriend and his father. She is surprised to find that the father is not the weird-looking man from LinkedIn that she thought she found online; he's handsome. Unfortunately, as Moira puts it, he's also an asshat. He then gets right to work on trying to convince Moira to work with him to show their children that they are too young to be in a serious relationship.

This book had me HOOKED. Enemies to lovers. Whirlwind romance. 6 weeks. This book follows the parents of their children in love and in the process they’re navigating themselves. The only thing I found to be a little weird was the parents and the children part. I wish the book had an epilogue to see how things turn out for them all. It was nice seeing Moira let her guard down and make decisions for herself. I think Frank really helped her with that. This was an easy read and a beautiful read.

Hmmm, this one was just….. not it for me. As a reader, the blurb is always what attracts me to the book and this one had one of my favorite tropes- enemies to lovers!!!!! But the lovers aspect between Moira and Frank fell so flat for me and it was hard for me to connect with both the characters and their romance.

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC!
