Alex takes a break from wedding planning and her intern research on the 666 Killer to attend her bachelorette party with her best friends, Melody and Lainey. They have booked the house where presumed killer, Eric, killed Nicole and wrote 666 in her blood on the walls.. In the morning, Alex wakes to find both of her friends gone and blood all over she starts to wonder if Eric could have been innocent as he claims and if so, is the real killer out to get her next?

First of all, Melody and Lainey might be the worst friends ever. I see the appeal of a "murder mystery" party for their true crime loving friend, but drugging her, leading her to think she is a killer, letting her explore the grounds in a blizzard, etc is absolutely awful.

I would rate this a 2.5, so I will round up to 3 stars. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was an absolute roller coaster! I loved the true crime angle how Alex’s research into the 666 Killer was interwoven in the present, which kept me wanting to turn the page! I was not a fan of Lainey and Melody and you’ll see why when you read it (I mean, wtf were they thinking) but it was definitely an interesting story! The twist at the end wasn’t entirely surprising but it was still an enjoyable ride.

Alex, a true crime junkie and crime reporter, is obsessed with the 666 Killings. The 10 year anniversary of the killings is approaching and Alex wants to interview the killer that is incarcerated for a new in-depth story. Also approaching is her wedding and unbeknownst to her two best friends are taking her to the house where the 666 killings occurred for her bachelorette party.
Although necessary for the back story, told in the ‘then’ and ‘now’ format, I found it confusing at times. However the shocking ending filled with twists and red herrings, definitely redeemed the ‘then’ for me.

I really wanted to like this book but it just fell flat. It was hard to follow along. Some of it was the format of the book since so was not a final copy. Usually galleys are in decent shape but this one needed a lot of work to get into shape. I’ve have liked other works by Sandra Block so It disappointed me even more.

I honestly am scratching my head wondering what I just read. For a person who reads a book a day, this took me 5 days to get through as I had to keep putting it down for something else as it was so disjointed, especially with the flashbacks and such .

This title comes out on September 3rd 2024 but sadly I would skip it.

The premise of the story is really good, although I would not really say it was a thriller at any point. I figured out the first twist pretty early on. The story does go back and forth between the party weekend and her investigation into the serial killer in prior weeks. Some parts of the story do seem to drag, but it is a fast read that can be finished in a day if you are so inclined.

Though getting snowed in by a blizzard wasn't part of the plan, the three girls make the most of their celebration. Then Alex wakes up to find her friends have vanished, blood spattered all over their sleeping bags and on her hands. With no idea what happened, Alex worries the decade-old murder has come back to haunt them and she is the one to blame. Her recent prison interview with the 666 Killer seems to have stirred up past demons, throwing her friends into danger. The prisoner has always maintained his innocence, claiming the "real killer" was still out there. Has the true 666 Killer finally returned? Alex must rely on her years of following true crime stories to try to solve the case and save her friends. But even she does not see the final, staggering twist coming, and the shocking truth just might kill her.
I don't like the characters as We as the ending. The middle section was ok.

I liked this book. The characters are kinda ridiculous, most of them have an unhealthy obsession with true crime. But it’s a page turner.

She is obsessed with this 666 killer and recently interviewed him in prison. But after a night of fun and Bachelorette party hijinks, Alex wakes up to find her friends missing and there is blood all over their sleeping bags and her hands. Cut off from the world in a sudden snow storm, Alex has to figure out what happened to her girlfriends and wonders if the real killer is actually in jail or if is he still out there. Even having a character with my unusual name --Lainey-- didn't make my enjoy reading this book. The formatting of my ARC was messed up & it took me a while to figure out why THE BACHELORETTE PARTY with a random number kept appearing. Because of crazy formatting issues, it was difficult for me to immediately enjoy the book. I'm tired of authors jumping back and forth in 2 different timelines. The book felt YA and juvenile to me. Nothing felt real or serious to me. It felt like a bad prank.

I have to say that I enjoy thrillers where the characters are in a remote area and trapped, and this was no exception. The FMC and her besties go to a remote cabin in the Catskills where a famous serial killer had laid carnage, celebrate her engagement. Chaos ensues from here with the FMC wondering if the real killer had been caught. I definitely enjoyed the twists and turns!

As someone who got married this year but did not have a bachelorette party, I thought the title was fitting. A thriller based around a bachelorette party, what could happen?

I'll tell you what could happen: a lot.

Alex is engaged to Jay, and they have only known each other for six months at most. He has a twelve-year old son named Greg. Alex is a journalist for Crimeline, and essentially a crime junkie but gets paid to be one. Her fiance and the wedding planner are hounding her to do all things wedding related, but she's more interested in trying to re-open the 666 serial killer case. Eric Meyers attacked one girl and killed another, and he was found out because of he had a 666 tattoo on his wrist. Alex starts interviewing people involved in the case and listening to podcasts and getting her hands on whatever she can about this case. Because there's a part of her that thinks Eric might be innocent. But is he? They start to video chat about the case, and more and more details are starting to come to light.

This story is told in alternating timelines, past and present. In the present, Alex and her two friends plan a surprise bachelorette weekend to the exact house that the 666 murders happened. But when they go to sleep, Alex wakes up in the shower covered in blood. She's afraid that she hurt her friends (she has night terrors or sleepwalking to the point that she gets violent, and has punched a wall and also her fiance's face in her sleep). But when she goes into the living room, the only thing there is blood. Lots of blood. Did she hurt her friends? Are her suspicions correct and Eric Meyers isn't the 666 killer and the real 666 killer took her friends?

Let me start out by saying the writing was good. The descriptions and story building were great. I like the alternating timelines because it helps with the suspense factor of the book. Every time a new character was introduced, I was trying to figure out if they were the killer/kidnappers or not. There is one big (and one smaller one) plot hole at the end that I wish we could tie up. I will not mention them here because it contains spoilers, but I go into this further on my Goodreads review.
Overall a decent thriller with suspense that I would recommend to my followers and friends.

DNF - unfortunately, I can’t tolerate ebook ARCs that are not formatted with proper line breaks, it makes reading way too difficult.

This book was very disappointing. It had a very intriguing premise but I think the mark was severely missed on this one. Every time something new was revealed I was more annoyed than surprised. I honestly wasn’t impressed with this book at all.

No. I can not get through this book. DNF. This was awful. It's hard to follow. The layout (which I'm sure is just because it's not fully formated yet since it's an arc) makes everything so much harder to read.
The characters get on my nerves. I just couldn't do it.

I was going to give two stars but I really didn’t see the final twist coming so I bumped it to three. The second to last twist is just so unbelievable and unrealistic that it ruined the entire story for me. *SPOILERS AHEAD*


Additionally, there are a lot of unnecessary and unbelievable details, such as the MC’s stepson-to-be sending her flowers with threatening notes then being found out because his DNA was on file because he went on a field trip to the police station?? In what world?? And then the MC says oh it’s fine just forget about it. Very silly.

I was a bit disappointed with this book. I guessed a majority of the plot pretty early on. That removed a bunch of the intrigue for me on what happened to the friends. The twists at the end didn't really make sense to me either. This one was entertaining enough that I finished it, but it didn't have me on the edge of my seat.

Honestly don’t see that ending coming, which I always love. This book was super twisty but the end had me shoooook. A few loose ends nagged at me but otherwise would definitely recommend to anyone who loves a twisty turny read!

I’ll be honest, when I began The Bachelorette Party by Sandra Block, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. Three girls riding to a bachelorette party woefully unprepared for the winter storm they were receiving seemed like a cliche set up. But this book ended up being anything but! It was so fun trying to figure out what the actual hell was going on. I liked how the present was intertwined with the past, with lots of questions popping up with each quick chapter. The characters were intriguing, and the story sucked me in. It did take me a little while to read it, but not a lot of brainpower. Perfect for a light read on the beach or a flight.

This book was interesting and definitely had twists and turns but wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea. Almost become too unbelievable at times.
