A well written story of political intrigue, dodgy dealings, FBI, eco warriors and suspect election practices, all set in USA. A basic understanding of how USA politics functions is useful, if reading from a UK perspective.
My patience with the many acronyms wore thin, even though there is a glossary at the beginning of the book. It interrupted the flow of the narrative for me, to have to keep referring back to it.

A suspense thriller, The Gray Anarchist (2024) by Jeffrey Marcus Oshins is an action tale of an eco-terrorist. Lauren Bastini is a seventy-three-year-old woman environmental activist who is the target of a major FBI hunt. Complicating matters is Senator Allan Hansen’s re-election and voice against the president’s new security bill, causing an investigation into his former college activism. An intricate tale of subterfuge involving politics, law enforcement, and one woman’s determination to exact her revenge and seek some form of recompense for environmental degradation. A handy list of acronyms is provided at the start of the story, yet the list of characters appears afterward. A solid, enjoyable thriller with plenty of action, interesting characters and political intrigue makes for three and a half stars read rating. An interesting novel full of spies and political intrigue. The plot charts the reelection of a senator and the administration’s attempt to derail it through inappropriate use of the FBI.

An interesting book which is, unfortunately, very realistic in today’s world. I enjoyed reading it and give it 5 stars.

I was intrigued by the book from the start. The character building, political intrigue and the overall feel of the book left me wanting more. This isn’t a genre I I’ve been gravitating towards for a while, but now I want to devour more books like this.

As the corrupt government thrillers go, a cut above the rest. The author causes you to change who you are rooting for as the story goes along. Truth is the first casualty in war, even if you don't know the war is on.

I received an ARC through "NetGalley" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

As I read the story that was written last year, it reminded me of what kind of world we would be living in if a certain political party has their way in this year's election. This story details the efforts that one political party was willing to take in stopping the reelection of a California senator. It speaks of how willing they are to disobey the law just because they are in power at the present time.

The story relays the effort that the legal system is willing to take disregarding an agreement that they made with a witness 29 years earlier. They have attempted to have the individuals that this person testified bring into the conversation the fact that he was a part of the group that was convicted. The 1st party was killed when a party kept pushing him to tell a story that would damage the candidate. The 2nd party was to be approached with the same request. In this instance, this individual who had been minding her own business and not causing any trouble, decided that she would revert back to the time when she was convicted and make those people who were damaging the environment pay.

You need to read the story to discover what kind of actions this woman took as revenge and what steps the Govt. took to capture her. Discover also the high-ranking politicians' complicity in their quest to have the Senator lose his reelection bid.

This book is definitely an eyeopener and should be read. It will hopefully open your eyes as to what the future might look like.
