This is the prequel to the Beautiful Creatures series, which I did enjoy the first book of years ago, but I am no longer interested in stories like this as I have gotten older!
Catch up with Lena, Ethan and Link as graduation has finally approached. As with any situation that involves the trio – Ridley is bound to make an appearance. After picking a fight with Link, Ridley heads to the latest club on the Caster scene. As with any ‘good time’ involving Ridley, things get stirred up in the most interesting ways.
Dangerous Dream is a novella that I would coin a ‘companion piece’ to the Dangerous Creatures series. It offers an added glimpse into the lives of our favorite Beautiful Creatures that doesn’t necessarily make its way into the novels. While there are no ‘aha’ additions, I always love extra glimpses into the lives of Ridley, Link, Lena and Ethan. Ridley’s latest dance with trouble adds another layer to the dark caster that adds to the character’s intrigue.
This was a nice complimentary novella to an already established series. The writing is a little dry, but that's on par for this author.
I received a copy of this story from Net Galley years ago in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story and the world that Kami Garcia created.
I wasn't quite connecting with this one and I had to DNF with the possibility of picking up in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to read the book and I apologize for the inconvenience.
This was a digital exclusive for a established series. While the story seemed interesting, I have not read all the other ones so I felt a little lost.
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!
I got accepted to review this book years ago, but unfortunately never got around to reading it. Apologies for this.
The focus here is on Link and Ridley; and they're well developed characters. A decent prequel novella that provided a taste of the full series to come.
This is a novella, only 45 pages and the prequel to the spin-off from Beautiful Creatures leading on to the Dangerous Creatures series. Now I have read the Beautiful Creature series so I knew what had happened but for people who have not I am sure the 'it's a long story' bits would annoy them because they don't know any of the story. This did not effect me though and it has made me want to start the Dangerous Creatures series now
I was unable to finish the book, but thank you for the opportunity.
I had not requested this title - it was auto-loaded to my shelf by the publisher and I have chosen not to read/review at this time.
Netgalley has required me to leave a rating in order to give feedback so I chose the 5 star.
Thank you
Did not read because I haven't read all the books that go before it.
I've enjoyed other Beautiful Creatures stories in the past and found this one to be just as mysterious and engaging.
