The book contains two stories.
Marriage Wanted: Savannah Charles runs a bridal business she is working with a new client whose brother is a lawyer who doesn't believe in the HEA. Dash Davenport shows up at her shop and is trying to find out info on his sister's upcoming wedding. He challenges Savannah on if there is really a HEA. As they strike sparks off each other can they learn to trust each other and open up to a HEA of their own.
Frist Comes Marriage: Zach Thomas has merged his business with Janine Hartman's grandfathers' business. Gramps is old school and thinks that the young couple should get married; after all he had an arranged marriage that worked out. Zach isn't interested in marriage to anyone, and Janine is a little gun shy after her last boyfriend. Gramps keeps throwing them together; can they open up to a marriage?
Because sometimes you need a little Debbie Macomber in your life! I've been reading a bit too many "heavy" books lately. So just like a little sorbet between courses, I enjoyed Debbie Macomber's two novellas in Under the Summer Sky. Yes, rather predictable ... but sometimes that's exactly what one needs. I have MANY books downloaded to be read, but this one went to the top of the list.
Both stories are reprinted and originally published in 1991 and 1993 by Harlequin Romance.
Many thanks to Debbie Macomber, NetGalley and Harlequin Romance/MIRA for approving my request to review the advance review copy of Under the Summer Sky in exchange for an honest review. Expected publication date is July 2024. 362 pages. Not sure if i had read these stories previously, if I had ... I didn't remember the details. Definitely before I started keeping track on GoodReads. Somewhere between 4 & 5 stars, rounding up because ... well ... its Debbie Macomber. Ever subscribe to her newsletters? Love them. And if you send her an email, she sends a reply. Love her!
Great novel. Her storytelling and writing style never disappoint! Can’t wait to read more of her novels.
This book questions the institution of marriage in the fact that is it due to the strength of love and emotional connection or is it a conditional partnership that leads to benefits for both parties. Even with Savannah's business based on weddings, she herself does not feel worthy of love as she finds herself lacking due to her injury. To her, people look down on her and on!y focus on what they see in her limp. It is sad to see how shut off from life she was even in something like not participating in dancing at a weddjng. When Nash enters her life as he agreed to pay for his sister's wedding, he and Savannah were at odds from the very beginning. They only knew how to verbally spar with each other. I can understand why they got married in the attempt for her parents to live their lives due to their reluctance to leave Savannah, but it certainly took convincing. I am glad Nash made her feel beautiful and it was a happy ending but I just didn't feel as much of the connection as I saw between Janine and Zach. I get why they got married to honor her grandfather and his wishes, but I felt that there was more magic like their kiss in Scotland. Her great heart and his willingness to let her in created a far better conviction that they would last. I would read more about their love story.
Reprint of two older novels about people finding love when they least expected it. ARC from NetGalley.
Clear skies ahead for Debbie Macomber fans with the upcoming release of #UndertheSummerSky. Featuring couples destined for the alter, the unlikely pairings will delight readers with their shenanigans. While at first glance the couples are drastically different but circumstances and shared desires bring them together.
The stories may seem familiar but don't judge a book by its cover. Sometimes the best stories deserve a second serving. Will they find happiness or remain marriages of convenience. Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition of #UndertheSummerSky in exchange for an honest review. I eagerly awaited the reissue and revisiting familiar characters provides a sizzling summer read.
I got very excited when I seen this one the list. However, I didn't realize that it was two of her older books. It will be nice to revisit the characters again and again.
I enjoyed this book. I didn't realize that both stories were reprints. I loved both of them . I love reading books by Debbie Macomber. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
Under the Summer Sky by Debbie Macomber Was hoping for a new book by Ms Macomber and was disappointed that the stories were reprints. However, did enjoy revisiting two earlier works.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for opportunity to preview the book.
Looks like reprint of two fun books by a popular author. Thought was a new book. Realistic characters and a quick read. In the future, the readers should be informed easily that this is NOT a new book. That being said, reading this author over and over is always fun. Thanks Netgalley.
I enjoy reading Debbie Macomber books and knowing that these are light easy reads I still appreciated NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read them again and give a review.

As a huge Debbie Macomber fan (despite being much younger than her demographic at 25), I was excited to see she had a new release out. However, it took me a minute to see that this book is just two stories from several years ago repackaged in a new edition, however I am not quite sure what years these books were orignially published. The cover made me think it was a brand-new romance novel. Anyhow, these were stories I had read a few years ago (Marriage Wanted and First Comes Marriage) and really enjoyed them when I did read them, so it was nice to revisit them.
5 stars of course!!
Read if you like Elin Hildebrand, Nancy Thayer, Mary Kay Andrews

In her novels, Macomber brings to life compelling relationships that embrace family and enduring friendships, uplifting her readers with stories of connection.
Love finds a way when you least expect it!
I loved all of the characters, the plot/ story line, and how well this book was written.
Thank you Netgalley for my ARC copy
I didn’t realize these were older stories published before and not a full novel. They’re okay, not up to Macomber’s later books, but they’ll do for a quick read on the beach. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher.
