My Royal Showmance is book two in the Park Avenue Promise Series! This is Anika Fox’s story.
I enjoyed this book! This was such a fun and light read. Anika is a big hearted rule follower trying to make her career dreams come true through in the movie industry. I loved the first meeting between Luca and Anika! They had amazing chemistry from the start! This is giving bachelor vibes with a royal twist.
The narration was great and I think Kitty did a wonderful job bringing the book to life! The story is told in Single POV so I sometimes struggled getting through the book. I do enjoy dual as you can see what is going on in both characters head. That being said I still enjoyed the book!
What to Expect:
Reality Dating Show
Secret Relationship
Royal Romance
Forced Proximity
Found Family
Anika works for a production company and is slowly working her ways to be a producer. She respects her boss so when she is asked to work undercover as a production assistant on a reality tv show she agrees. Things are about to become complicated when not only does one of the participants on the dating show withdraw and she is asked to take her place, but she met the royal bachelor the evening before.
Luca will do anything to help his country prosper even if that means participating in a dating show that will not only help financially but give them some publicity as well. Finding a bride is an afterthought but when he sees Anika, whom he met the evening before, things are about to get a lot more interesting.
This is a heartwarming romance and I really enjoyed both characters as they had the best of intentions and tried to do what was right both when it came to their feelings for each other and everyone else involved. I thought that the narrator did a great job with the characters making it easy to discern which voice was which while the cadence and pacing was perfect.
The characters in this story are so much fun. This book is a funny, sweet and emotional all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it.
This is the second book in a series, I didn’t read book one and I was just fine so it’s great as a standalone. I’m a reality tv addict so the premise sounded perfect for me, it’s a modern twist on a classic fairytale with a dating show backdrop. Cute right?! That’s the best way to describe this one, it’s adorable and fluffy and just fun. Lots of swoony moments with the hero being a king and the big grand gestures we know from dating shows. It also has depth too, Anika is undercover to see if the rumors about the shows director are true and the issues were handled with care and grace by the author. It was a fast paced listen that I finished in a day, really easy and fun and the narration by Kitty Bang was effortless.
I really enjoyed this audiobook! The narration was great! The story is amazing! I love Luca and Annika! I am glad they got their HEA. The world Lexi creates is so creative! I loved all the side characters and can't wait to read/listen to more! 💙💜
A funny, flirty, irresistible showstopper. Blake takes heartbreaker to a whole new level. Meet cute meets the bachelor with a splash of royal romance. My Royal Showmance seduces with it's sassy dialogue, spicy humor and irresistible characters. Blake brings the drama of heartache while Bang brings the flair of romance.
Anika is doing her boss a solid by going undercover as a PA on a reality dating show to investigate rumors of onset misconduct. She did not expect to be slotted in as one of the contestants! And she certainly didn’t expect the hot man from the bar the night before to be the bachelor she’s competing for!
Luca is the King of a small country that needs an infusion of tourism cash. He’s determined to highlight his home and bring international interest even if it means taking part in this silly show.
Why I Loved It: You know I’m a sucker for anything royal, but throw in a reality tv show and I’m in romance heaven. This one was a steamy delight.
I will spoiler free be reviewing both the book itself and the audiobook.
Bachelor Nation the book you’ve always wanted has officially arrived! This was a fun and light hearted read about Anika (our FMC) who is a big hearted rule follower trying to work her way up and into her career dreams within the movie industry. She agrees to take on a job keeping an eye on a potentially sus person for her boss with the agreement that her movie will get made if she does this one BIG favor that she’s truly overqualified for. She will pose as a PA for a reality dating show involving the King of a small nation. She’s not keen on doing this, but trust is everything in her industry which is why she was chosen, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get her movie made. She soon realizes that her happenstance stopped me dead in my tracks connection turns out to be someone she never could have possibly expected. The plot twist that drops her into the dating show she’s agreed to keep an eye on slams these two characters together like lightening. But what’s real? What’s a true connection and what’s just for the cameras?! Bachelor fans will love asking this question because it’s oh so common in reality tv. It was such a fun read for someone who loves to watch reality dating shows and I loved the HEA we are given at the end. I’m excited to see what story unfolds for book 3!
Now for the narration! The narration was good, but at times I honestly felt like the narrator felt too much like she was reading rather than it feeling fully immersive. I really enjoyed the varied character voices that were given and I really really enjoyed the voice that was performed for Luca. His accent was great and a distinctive character voice. I just think at times the narration felt like it lacked a little flow. It by no means made this unenjoyable, just needed a bit more of a flow to it to have it feel more immersive in my opinion.
Thank you 1001 Dark Nights Blue Box press for the paperback and PR Box and to Brilliance Audio and NetGalley for the chance to read both versions in exchange for my honest review. My thoughts are my own.
If you love ‘The Bachelor’ and other dating reality shows, you’ll enjoy this story. Anika and Luca’s story is cute, has a little steam and overall a fun listen.
The story is told from a single POV and the narrator brings the story to life in a light and easy to hear way. You can clearly follow the story and hear changes in her voice for differing characters.
it was a great listen.

You've got to dive into "My Royal Showmance" by Lexi Blake—it's like a royal twist on "The Bachelor" and it’s super engaging! Imagine chatting up a cute guy, only to find out he’s a prince on a dating show you’re about to join. Anika, the lead, is super relatable and her rollercoaster romance with the prince is just a blast.
The story doesn’t shy away from deeper issues either, like misconduct in the entertainment industry, adding a layer of depth to the rom-com vibes. Plus, the ending is just perfect. If you're in for a fun read that’s both charming and thoughtful, this one’s a must. The audiobook’s narration is fantastic too, bringing all the spicy and dramatic moments to life. Grab your headphones and get ready for a royally entertaining ride!
Thank you to Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley for my advanced listener copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
This audiobook was such a fun listen! The whole idea of a royal dating show had me from the start as an avid Bachelor/ette watcher. I loved their meet cute and how the story played out. The side characters were fun and I enjoyed getting to know them throughout the book as well. The narrator did a great job and I could not stop listening! I did see some plot points coming, but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this book!
Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this audio!
What a great book! I loved it! Had just the right amount of spice, funny, drama, great characters and great secondary characters. I loved all of the ladies! Such a great story. I loved the love story!
This was really cute. I loved the dating show set up for the backdrop of this romcom. The storyline of men being victims of misconduct especially in the film industry is one that is important and rarely talked about. I thought it was great to address it in this book along with addressing stereotypes that are not true and showing how dismissing these issues hurts everyone.
I thought this book was going to be silly in the beginning but I ended up liking it far more than I thought I would.
It was lovely to have all the contestants at the wedding in the end as friends. I will read more books from this author for sure.
This seemed like such a fun romcom, unfortunately for me it didn't work. I wasn't able to get into or to connect with any of the characters. It just felt off and fell flat for me. I unfortunately had to DNF.
This was such a fun read ❤️🤌 and a quick one too!! This is a romantic comedy but with an unique theme.
Our protagonist, Anika Fox met a charming guy in bar and chatted whole night only to find her getting more and more attracted to him. She wanted to live the moment to the fullest with this stranger but unfortunately he left her at the door of her apartment without anything more hopes or clues to meet in the future.
Next day, when she is at her new place of work, she finds herself replacing the last candidate who had bailed out from the reality show where a price is going to one girl from 13 girls and marry her off to be his BRIDE and queen of Ralavia.
This was such fun and cute read but towards the end , the author had added a brilliant twist focusing on a negative side in the work department which is currently need of concern too . I love this fact about the book.
In total, I absolutely love this book.
