This was my first audiobook on NetGalley & it was a quick fun read! Anytime there’s a wedding setting in a rom com, I’m ready.

While this was cute and full of fluff, the actual description of the books is not really what happens, and the epilogue was over the top.

Cecily is a children's librarian going to an MFA program where she runs into Nate, a well-known published author who is there to run some of the sessions. They enjoy each other's company, but aren't flirty, and part as acquaintances at the end of the session. Cecily writes this "great" story and is ready to start publishing, and gets told to go check out the literary lifestyle, so she ends up at Nate's reading. She gets a little too drunk (having never really drank before), and ends up kissing Nate on what ends up being a special TV segment. Now instead of just telling the dean of the program that it was an accident and it didn't mean anything, Nate panics that he's going to get fired and CJ (which Nate refuses to stop calling her) proposes they get married. Honestly, I get that people in romances are supposed to be a little dumb to make it work, but this was ridiculous. Also, her huge baby-making family doesn't even know about this until the last hour of the audiobook and instead of waiting to take a phone call outside she does it in the middle of the hall. There's some super ridiculous make-up shenanigans, and then the epilogue which is just oh-so-clever we wrote this book about ourselves and it's great and makes us famous.

The narrators are great, I enjoyed listening to them, but as cute as this plot was it just didn't work for me in the end.

This was a fun romance.
I always love a book that deals with writing books. And this one was so sweet and cozy.
CJ is adorably sweet and awkward, she is so excited for her adventure in the book writing world. She’s talented, but also introverted, so when she has too much wine at an event, it leads to some fun, but also can cause some problems, so naturally she proposes a wedding to fix the problem.
This was sweet, relatable, fun and full of friendship, frustration & healing.

I really tried to get into this book. I picked it up several times and just could not get into it. I am not even sure why, but I just couldn't.

After reading The Book Proposal as an ARC, I was super excited for the next book by KJ!! A Storybook Wedding did not disappoint! I am a sucker for enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience tropes. It was a super cute and charming rom-com. I love how KJ paints the story. The characters have so much depth to them and the story goes into a lot of detail about the writing process. I cannot wait to read the next one by KJ!

A special thank you to Netgalley, KJ Micciche, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Just look at that cute cover! I still love this sweet illustrated romance cover trend, and A STORYBOOK WEDDING proved to be as adorable as I hoped it to be.

Cecily is a librarian who has always desired being an author. When she meets Nate at a karaoke night, they hatch a plan to have a marriage of convenience, and it was such a fun plot, seeing where things would go for them.

*many thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

"A Storybook Wedding" by KJ Micciche is a delightful romance that sweeps you off your feet. Narrated by Kelli Tager and Nick Mondelli, the dual narration brings a vibrant energy to the story, making it an enjoyable listen from start to finish.

The plot is engaging, with charming characters that you can’t help but root for. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and Micciche’s writing beautifully captures the ups and downs of planning a wedding while navigating love. The narrators each add their own flair, enhancing the emotional depth of the story.

I’d rate this audiobook 4.25 out of 5 stars. It’s a heartwarming tale that will leave you smiling, perfect for anyone who loves a good romantic romp. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own!

A Storybook Wedding by KJ Micciche is a delightful romance that blends humor, heart, and a touch of wedding chaos. The story follows a charming couple as they navigate the ups and downs of planning their perfect day, encountering quirky characters and unexpected challenges along the way. Micciche’s witty dialogue and relatable characters make this a fun and engaging read, though some of the plot points feel predictable. Overall, it’s a sweet, lighthearted novel perfect for fans of romantic comedies.

3.75⭐, 2🌶️

This book was cute at times, and other just felt a little too kitchy. Like I loved the relatability of it to modern day, and getting to know Cecily's real life struggles as an aspiring author was fun, but then the longer the book went, it got a bit too tired. The marriage of convenience took until the 50% mark to occur which felt oddly paced (and the title and blurb was misleading to the actual plot IMO). And while I like Cecily and Nate's love story, the third act breakup drama felt a tad unnneccesary. So this book was a split for me on the enjoyment scale.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this title. Meh. I didn't finish.

Unfortunately I didn’t finish the audiobook. I got about 30% through when I had to stop. I planned on trying to pick up a physical copy to read it to see if maybe it was the format but never got around to it. Overall the main character is suppose to be a woman in her late twenties (my current age) and I just couldn’t relate to some of the immaturity. The part that really pushed me to my breaking point was when she started referring to wine as “yummy juice” and proceeded to get drunk at what should be a work related event. I’m sure this lead to drunken antics which her mentor and future love interest that set up the rest of the story but this wasn’t a meet cute that I could really get behind and I don’t really get how the title made sense for the synopsis of this book

"A Storybook Wedding" follows librarian Cecily as she pursues her dream of earning an MFA. She finds a program, gets the funding, secures the time off from work, and everything is going according to her (very detailed) plan. Everything, that is, until she meets her instructor Nate. And in a rapid series of events, they find themselves in a position where they both are at risk of being kicked out of the program.

Their only saving grace is the caveat that banishment does not need to be meted out if the student/instructor couple is already married. So, they construct an elaborate tale dating back to before the pandemic began, and tie the knot to "prove" their love to the administration.

But somewhere between the "I do's" and graduation, things get a bit tricky, and they're both left to decide which is more important to them. A degree/job or their relationship.

I can't say that I was especially rooting for this couple to make it, but it was an enjoyable light read.

Thank you to KJ Micciche, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

Loved the narration style, this book was an enjoyable read but I feel like something was missing as well. It had great funny and sweet romantic parts but also a little cringey at times. This is great rom-com/summer read that is perfect for fans of Emily Henry

DNF @ 52%.

I have been actively trying not to DNF books without giving them a solid chance. I think 52% is fairly solid.

This book gave me so much secondhand embarrassment and made me cringe so hard that I decided it would be better to not listen to anything than to listen to this.

Cute, charming, and wonderfully diverting, if you're looking for something that's just plain fun to read, go for K.J. Micciche's A Storybook Wedding: An enemies to lovers marriage of convenience romantice comedy. Phew, how's that for a long title? LOL

The audio version is nicely performed by Kelli Tager and Nick Mondelli.

This was an okay book, a bit hard to get into but it wasn’t boring.
I liked that both of the main characters were writers/authors, the dialog and internal monologue.

The book has an easy plot that don’t take too much brain work to follow, so I could do other tasks while listening which I liked.

Overall, a good book with some funny light romance.

While fake dating isn’t my favorite trope, I really enjoyed it in this story. Micciche’s writing was hilarious, and her development of the protagonists was awe-inspiring. Cecily and Nate’s love story was a rocky one, but I appreciated how they approached their challenges with maturity. I will be keeping my eyes open for Micciche’s next book as I just loved this title.
