This was a very cute story. I loved the premise of it and the marriage of convenience trope was fun. I was a bit disappointed that the literary enemy that set up their downfall didn’t get any consequences though. It would have been nice to see her get a little karma for her revenge plot. Especially since her hatred for Nate was completely unwarranted.
It seemed like a loose end that just wasn’t tied up.

Audio fenomenal. Wow , I enjoyed this way too much. Is a fade to black romance ( for anyone that might need that), loved it every second of the book. The main characters very well done . Cecily is fun , I love her energy and well her character in general, her personality doesn’t feel forced and it flows very well on the book. The MMC character Nate is a bit more stiff, but you warm up to him and halfway thru the book start to see more of his relax personality which iI enjoyed a lot as well. The whole book idea is very fun, and very refreshing little book story .

3.25 Stars
I enjoyed the unconventional love story and gained some insights into the life of a writer. However, some scenes felt cheesy and even caused me some secondhand embarrassment. Additionally, some of the humor didn't resonate with me. But I still thought the overall story was fun and entertaining. If you're in the mood for a light and enjoyable read featuring a fake relationship storyline, this book may be for you.

A Storybook Wedding is for fans of Book Lovers by Emily Henry, but with Jess (New Girl) as the FMC! This book was the perfect laugh-out-loud, light hearted romcom.
Cecily is basically Jess from New Girl. She’s a librarian, can’t lie, follows all rules, hilarious, can get anything she sets her mind to done, and has the most kind heart. She just wants everyone to be happy. I loved how she stayed true to herself the entire story. The way this story was told, with both authors reading parts of their manuscripts, was so cool and different. Sure, this is a romcom and marriage of convenience is a popular trope, but I still found this book unique!!! My heart was so happy at the end!
The narration of this book was done by Kelli Tager and Nick Mondelli. Their voices were absolutely perfect for this story!
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio-arc of A Storybook Wedding! It was fantastic!

This book was cute, nothing revolutionary, but good enough to read on vacation.
Their chemistry was so cute. I liked how their relationship changed throughout the book. Both were authors which I found super cute and I don’t read many marry for convenience books, but this one wasn’t bad.
I don’t really have much to say about this so it’s a win/ win.
3/5 stars.
***AUDIO ARC GIVEN FROM FREE. THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN***

This book is hard one for me because my opinions on it are so polarizing.
First, some things I liked:
I listened to it in audiobook and I really enjoyed the narrators. I thought the female narrator was particularly engaging, helping me feel the worries and joys that Cecily was feeling. The male narrator was also good, just not particularly stand-out to me.
This book was genuinely very funny. I found myself smiling often which is a great sign. And the writing was good. It was clever in so many ways, but these things were overlooked by some of the negatives.
Some things I didn't like...
This book was boring. Things are happening (MFA program, wedding, writing books, etc), but it all dragged. Also, it took a while to get into the "meat" of the story. We don't even get to the wedding bits until about 40% in or so. Considering I thought that was a big part of the story (hello, title!), I was very disappointed.
Maybe along similar lines, I like the FMC, Cecily, but Nate, the MMC, was dull. I think that's part of what made the book drag for me. He lacked that sparkle to really make him shine as a love interest and main character. I wasn't falling for him alongside Cecily, and I was barely rooting for him. Lackluster, unfortunately.
Overall, if you're willing to stick it out, maybe you'll enjoy it. It's slower-paced, but well-written and funny. Not my kind of book, but I can see how others would enjoy it.

Cecily loves her job as a librarian, but deep down she has always wanted to be a writer. When she gets into an MFA program, she is thrilled. Well, until she goes to the professors event, has a bit too much to drink, and forces him to sing karaoke with her ending by kissing him. It would have been fine, except that the clip ended up on tv. If Nate ants to keep his job, the two need to get married and come up with a quick story about their wedding…
This was a very cute and fun rom com! I loved how everything started with the karaoke night and the reason they had to pretend to be married. I really enjoyed that we got both points of view in this one, and how determined they both were to help the other. Cecile’s back story was wild, I don’t know how she dealt with that one! Overall this was a very enjoyable read, perfect for a summer day by the pool!

Set in a post-pandemic world, this book tells the sweet and modern story of librarian Cecily and hotshot author Nate, who enter a marriage of convenience after a compromising situation. The characters are deeply developed, relatable, and their evolving relationship is engaging. The writing style is reminiscent of Emily Henry's works, with a blend of humor and emotional depth, although the narrative could benefit from one more round of editing to address some confusing flashbacks and interludes.
Despite a misleading title and a slow start, the story becomes increasingly captivating around the 35% mark. The audiobook version is particularly well-narrated, enhancing the experience. Overall, this is a charming and heartwarming read for those who enjoy light, fluffy romances with a modern twist and a glimpse into the world of writing.
Thank you to NetGalley and DreamScape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Cecily’s dream since she was a child is to become a writer. But when a kiss in a karaoke with her professor go viral everything they are in trouble. But not only because Nate, famous writer, can lose his job but because their marriage of convenience can help them achieve their dreams or can destroy everything they are fighting for. Funny, sweet, full of emotions and great banter. The audiobook with Kelli Tager and Nick Mondelli makes a great story an amazing one.

Fake relationship (marriage) , haters to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine trope 🤌 I love this combination so much. This romcom stole away my heart as both the protagonists were from the book community and background, which absolutely stole away my heart from the beginning of the book.
The characters were so relatable and the scenario penned down were so charming ones. I had am amazing time reading this book.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I would give it 3.5 if I could. This book talks a lot about writing books and the process that goes along with it, if you enjoy that sort of thing. The beginning and middle of the book fell flat for me. I was a little bored with the tangent stories and they seemed to last a while. I also felt like the first half of the book was young adult and almost no romance, maybe very very light flirting. The romantic terms the characters used were very vague and high school (ish). The FMC was was coming off as a prude to me, but then about 70% way through the book there was a shift of romance action (which I loved!!). The description on the romantic aspects were several levels higher than the rest of the mood of the book. I like both ends of the spectrum, but it seemed inconsistent to me. I do think this book is worth the read if you are willing to get through most of the book the drama and action in last 30% is worth it!
I listened to this book as an ARC from #netgalley

This was a cute, fast read. The FMC is truly adorable, and I was rooting for her success throughout the story.
I docked an entire star because of the Disney-villain reveal and speech at the end. First off, I’d already figured out what the twist would be pretty early on in the book. That’s fine; predictability doesn’t bother me. I couldn’t get on board with the “villain” giving an entire speech recalling her “plan” plot point by plot point. It took me out of a really charming story. Considering that this was a story about authors, I was a bit perplexed by that choice.
HOWEVER… this is still a really cute book. If you love traditional movies with old-fashioned villains set in a beautiful location, this is the book for you. You won’t regret reading it.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! Both fantastic narrators! I really enjoyed the tropes in this story- marriage of convenience, forced proximity, professor/student. So many funny moments as well.

*3.5 stars
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook- the premise, the characters, the plot line, and the chemistry! I always love books about people who read/write books and it made me happy that they wrote together eventually 🥹🫶🏼

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and KJ Micciche for this advanced copy of the audio version of A Storybook Wedding.
Overall, this book was mostly great. The story was sweet. The characters had actual depth and flaws, and was a cute look at falling in love once you’ve achieved other goals. It’s also post pandemic, which gave a very modern feel. The characters felt very personal by the end of the story, like you knew their struggles and their journey.
The biggest things I didn’t like were the title, I felt like it didn’t encompass the story at all. They don’t even get married until 35% into the book, and the wedding is done over zoom. It’s not really the story. The title is misleading in that aspect. Also, the flashbacks and brief interludes from the characters writing is kind of confusing and distracts from the real plot.
In general, id give the book 3.75 stars out of 5. I think a lot of it is great, the writing, the story, and the characters. It reminds me a lot of Emily Henry books. But I feel like it could have benefitted from one more round of editing.

If you want a cute fluffy read about a marriage of convenience this is for you!
If in the book a character is writing a book or reading a book I’m definitely going to read it.
Took me a while to get into it around 35% in and then I was getting attached to the story. I wanted to know if the plan worked lol
I listened to the audio and the narrators did an amazing job.
Librarian Cecily & hotshot author Nate get into a compromising position during a program so a marriage of convenience is a must but can they pull it off?
I really liked the backstory of how authors write and what they go through.
Although I think I unlocked a new ick “when characters sing” 🤭 it was very much needed for this story.
I absolutely loved the ending even with the singing 🎵
Trope:
Marriage of convenience
Forced proximity
Fake/dating
One bed
Forbidden love / relationship

So excited to have been approved to read this book on NetGalley, so I went in very happy. It’s such a cute romantic love story about a writer and one of her mentors. I absolutely Iove when a love story isn’t drawn out and this is very well written and straight to the point. It’s a good feel good book that will leave you wanting more. Absolutely recommend reading this book

Cecily is an aspiring author. She just finished her first novel. Her mentor urges her to go out into the literary scene and become comfortable with it. So she goes to a reading by one of the professors in her program. She is not a drinker, but has a glass of wine. And another. Next thing you know, she is singing karaoke with Questlove backing her up on drums! She drunkenly kisses Nate, the author and professor. And the university finds out- and Nate is about to be fired. Cecily feels guilty and comes up with a solution- they will get married. On paper only. It is fine at first but feelings begin...
This started out rough. I wanted to DNF it, actually. It isn't until Thanksgiving when things pick up, which is probably close to halfway through. The beginning is about Cecily and then the first residency week of her college program. This went on for far too long, in my opinion. The second half was better.
Kelli Tager and Nick Mondelli narrate the audiobook, which is told in two POVs. I always appreciate when dual narrators are used.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was an unexpected one! The more I read/listen to book about writers, the more fascinating the writing process is for me! The narrators were awesome! I really liked their voices and characterization of everyone in the book.
It was a bit of a slow start for me, but once The fmc and mmc started interacting, the story just kept rolling!
