5/5 Stars! Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audiobook of The Language of Letting Go by Melody Beattie narrated by Liz Cole.

I LOVE the author's book, Letting Go of Codependency, and live by her books. Because of her, she has taught me so much about boundaries and I just love her books. I really enjoyed this audiobook because it about her daily meditations and should be listened to daily. This is an audiobook that should not be rushed through - def involves some reflection. The narrator was perfect for this type of audiobook, it was nice and calming...almost soothing actually.

Overall, a great listen, and would highly recommend to everyone.

The Language of Letting Go Audiobook
By Melody Beattie
To me, Melody Beattie gets to the heart, soul and point of the matter in her daily meditations. Her book, Journey to the Heart, is a book I go to for my yoga practice. I pick a meditation at random and it is the one I need for my practice that session. In the audiobook, The Language of Letting Go, Melody Beattie’s still got it. I don’t know if I had heard Ms. Beattie read her own work before but I had an idea of what I thought she would sound like. This isn’t it. The narrator isn’t the author. The narrator doesn’t bother me but doesn’t excite me either. If you do not want mention of God in your mediations then this book isn’t for you. I would recommend Journey to the Heart which is spiritual but doesn’t mention God specifically. I love how Beattie finds hundreds of micro points about a topic and succinctly makes them all different, relevant and enough to ponder on their own for meditation. It’s mini therapy sessions and self help in bite size portions. I hope you will give this book a try. I highly recommend it. I would prefer and plan on getting my own copy in print or digital. There is a mediation for every day of the year. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for advanced listening.

This audiobook is one that requires the listen to pause and really take note of the daily messages and affirmations that are within it. It is definitely for those working towards self improvement and letting go of codependency. If you are looking for a guide with daily tools to help you let go and walk away from unhealthy habits this book is for you! It’s not just for codependents, I believe it is beneficial for all.

Melody Beattie is very well known for her work with codependency. I believe that she has become so popular because of her gentle approach. Many self-care/help books lose their efficacy in their ‘my way or the highway’ delivery. Beattie is always full of kindness, with the expectation that this is hard work, and forgiveness for expected difficulties her audience will have.

This new book is my favorite in her catalog, simply because of its bite-sized nurturing guidance. It’s essentially a year long project, broken into daily readings. For me, this works. I often find myself overwhelmed in following the advice of an entire chapter or book. This format is lovely. It truly allows you to focus on one message at a time, one day at a time.

The narrator, Liz Cole, has a soothing voice and is well suited for this content. I personally might prefer to see this content in a written format, yet could also imagine investing in both versions. I’d start my day reading the written version, and use the audio to reinforce it during the day.

I very much appreciate NetGalley and Dreamscape Media granting access to an advanced audio file in response to mu request.

I really enjoyed listening to The Language of Letting Go. I've been wanting to read it for some time now and after listening to the audio version I ordered the hardcover since I like to underline and highlight passages that I want to go back to and reflect on. I think it'll be great for both my husband and me to read through this together. Such good reminders on what we need to do to take care of ourselves!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audio book and review. All opinions are my own.

I really look forward to listening to my daily prompt since I began listening to this book. It is 1-2 mins. each day that I listen to in the morning, and it sets my day off well and gives me a focus for the day. You will also need to set aside 10-15 mins to journal about the prompts so that you can reflect on the prompt fully. The small bite sized pieces work for me so that I can digest slowly before the next prompt. The narrator’s voice is soothing and easy to listen to.

Thank you Net Galley, Melody Beattie and Dreamscape Audio for the opportunity to preview this audiobook. Opinions shared are my own.

I loved this audio version of daily meditations on codependency. It's great to have the option of listening - I process things differently hearing it rather than seeing it on the page. The narrator did a great job.
