I absolutely loved this book! I have been on a witchy reads kick lately (manifesting Fall to arrive sooner), and Rewitched did not disappoint. Lucy's detail of how the coven formed, its rules, traditions, books, etc., was impressive and clear. She took so much time to ensure that all the details of the wicce-world came together and nothing got lost along the way of the plot. She made it easy to fall in love with the main characters, and wish demise on the characters who proved to be grade-A assholes... looking at you, Christopher! I cannot wait to order this book for our library systems and tell our patrons how much I love it! More witchy reads please, Lucy!
This was a cute cozy witchy read.
There was a true magical/witchy component to this story which I absolutely loved and the characters..
I really enjoyed Belle, Rune, Bonnie and our little angel Arty
The writing was so well done- the story is brought to life and the characters were so easy pictured
I love a little mystery and plot twist with any book so this was a welcomed surprise
This was a bit slow moving- I felt like it took about 50% to really gain momentum and then from there on out, movement/progression came in spurts.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC!
Rewitched was a magical read that is perfect for fans of cozy fantasy. I will admit, it took around 100 pages for me to become fully invested in the story and characters, but once the plot began to thicken, I devoured the remainder of the book. The atmospheric descriptors aided the believability of the magical world. The characters were charming. The writing style and attention to detail ensured that no plot holes were present.
My only gripe: Some of the dialogue didn't flow well for me, as there were too many attempts at one-liners and quips in the banter for my taste. Sometimes this lent to Belle's need to cover up strong emotions with jokes; other times, it was unnecessary and seemed to just follow the conversational formula most mainstream rom-coms succumb to now (though, to be clear, this was NOT a rom-com...there is a romance, but it is not the focal point of the story). Overall, this was a small aspect of the book that I was able to look past and it merely speaks to a stylistic choice that does not appeal to me.
Loved, loved this book. The homey feel of the bookstore was just right to foster the magic in the rest of the story. Highly recommend.
"Rewitched" is a new approach to the witch-fantasy-romance genre that is so popular right moment. "rewitched" is a pleasant read with enough suspense to keep you intrigued and turning the pages. I hope the author, Lucy Jane Wood, will continue the story with more books about Belle and Rune.
This was a fun, cozy, magical, chick lit novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll admit, it started off a bit too cutesy for me with light mayhem in the super quaint bookstore and a somewhat frazzled Belle, but it became more substantial as the story progressed. I enjoyed how the magic was portrayed/explained, especially the impressive visual descriptions of certain settings. I also liked the character development for most of the cast, including the nastiness of the villains.
Given that the storyline wrapped up most of its threads, this could be a standalone novel, but I hope not. It would be great to revisit these characters and find out how things are progressing for Belle, Rune, Arty, Ari, and the coven as a whole.
Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood felt like a cozy fantasy in the same vein of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna.
It is a cozy-feels book filled with just enough danger. I appreciated that Bella, the FMC, loved working in a bookshop. I will say, though, that I didn’t necessarily feel as though she had a real connection to books. But as a cozy setting for portions of the book, I think it worked well.
There were a couple of other elements which confused me a little. For example, Bella did use her magic. Everyday, it seems, in her home and work life. But then it was as if she…didn’t(?)..or not, I suppose, to its full potential. Perhaps this is reader-error and I missed something.
Overall though, I enjoyed the book. Especially the messages of self-acceptance, believing in your abilities, and bonds of friendship! I also loved the house (especially the attic) in which their lessons took place! And I would absolutely live in Bella and Ari’s apartment! Along with the lovely settings, there were a number of satisfying moments in which Bella finally stands up for herself which were quite empowering to read.
Rewitched is that perfect fall cozy read that readers will eat up! While it was a bit slow initially, I had fallen in love with all the characters by the end and decidedly wanted more. I can't wait to recommend this to friends and other readers when it comes out!
I received a free copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group; all opinions expressed are exclusively my own.
Cute, cozy romance with a strong focus on mental health and family. The characters are colorful and vibrant, and the lore of the world is interesting. Would definitely read another book in this series!
For sensitive readers, there are depictions of violence, memory loss, trauma, burnout, and off page historical child death.
I absolutely loved this book! Great character development and well described settings. I could easily picture everything in my mind. I highly recommend!

What a fun read for spooky season! A lovely cozy fantasy with personal growth and a hint of romance, Rewitched is the perfect book for a chilly night and a warm cup of tea. I was so charmed (pun intended) by Rewitched, and I'm really looking forward to recommending this one to my patrons! 4.25/5.
4.25 stars + all the cozy feelings!
Such a cozy, witchy fantasy that was just plain fun to read. The world that the author created is so lush and comforting! The book does start off a little slow, but it allowed me to feel immersed into Belle's life and daily struggles. Once the story picked up around 30% in, I ate it up! Such a heartwarming story filled with cozy magic and personal growth/self-love!
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book might be for someone, but it wasn't me. Which is a shame! The premise was so appealing, but overall, I was just bored.
LOVED. Super cute, easy read and it was very enjoyable. It hit all my romcom spots and I was left feeling satisfied.
