As someone who adores a good mix of magic and emotion, I was thrilled by Veyka’s journey through love and turmoil. The novel weaves a tale that’s both enchanting and heart-wrenching, making it impossible to put down. It’s a story that resonates with the struggle for power and the courage to face one’s destiny. If you’re drawn to the allure of faerie tales with a dark twist, this book will satisfy that craving and leave you yearning for more. A definite page-turner! Loving this series

What a wild ride this series has been so far!
👑 Fated love
👑 Quest
👑 Half-truths & secrets
👑 Supernatural beings
👑 Steamy romance 🤭
👑 Full-figured FMC 🔥

Arran and Veyka take a journey to the unknown and there have been nothing but problems along the way.
The heat between those two is undeniable 🥵. Walls come crashing down and there’s an acceptance of the inevitable.

I was left with a serious cliffhanger at the end and it seems like my mind wants to think of the worst that could happen.
The characters were built up but we see the layers unfold as the story goes on. There is more that meets the eye with just about everyone involved.

I don’t think I want this series to end.

Special thanks to #NetGalley, #CaraMaxwellRomance and Emberly Ash for the #ARC to review.

I really liked this! It was fast paced, adventurous and engaging. I felt like I was a fly on the wall in their world, which is important to me or else Im bored. I hated her on one hand, but was rooting for her with the other! Definitely a fresh story that was much needed.

This series must be read in order as this book picks up where the first book left off. There are a lot of surprises when it comes to Veyka and the powers she possesses, even though she is scared of her powers. The others are determined to help her control her powers before she loses control which happens by accident hurting someone she really cares about. Veyka has disliked humans but even more so for what they have done, however when the group has to travel though the human realm, they realize that Veyka's feelings contradicts her actions with the humans. During their journey Veyka comes face to face with the reality that her twin brother King Arthur kept so much from her while trying to protect her leaving her to feel betrayed. The chemistry between Veyka and Arran is even more undeniable than ever especially with their mate bond, but Veyka is still denying her feelings for Arran which is a bit frustrating for me. Veyka's mother Ingraine is up to something and while Veyka is away she's free to roam and plan. This story is full of suspense, adventure, realizations, prophecies, deaths, friendships, love, steamy scenes and more. I think that the flow of the story is slower than the previous book but I'm enjoying the characters and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

**Review: Throne of Air and Darkness**

Throne of Air and Darkness, the second installment in the series, proves to be an enthralling continuation of the saga. Veyka and Arran embark on another gripping adventure, deepening their relationship along the way and uncovering a profound connection between them.

This high fantasy tale delves even deeper into its world, offering readers a richly layered narrative. With the addition of two other points of view from Annwyn, the story gains breadth and complexity, providing a fuller picture of the unfolding events.

While the storytelling is captivating, there is one notable flaw. The constant emphasis on Veyka's physical appearance becomes repetitive and detracts from the overall enjoyment of the book. Despite this drawback, Throne of Air and Darkness remains a compelling read, filled with magic, intrigue, and captivating characters.

Really enjoyed this just as I did the first one. Some good steamy scenes and some more political focus which was good to read. Onto the third one next!

To finish a book in a day, says it all. Veyka’s quest to unravel the secrets of her power, her past and the darkness that threatens her kingdom was a captivating one. I couldn’t step away from it.
In first book’s review i said that there wasn’t much romanticism. Well, things definitely change in this one.
As Veyka learns to accept the new reality she lives in and her new power, she also comes to terms with her bond with Arran. And if you’re a fan of her falls first and harder than this is definitely for you.
They both open up more and it was heartwarming to see them being vulnerable to each other. However, I still feel like we don’t know much about Arran.
The other members in the group also take an important role in this book and we see more of them and their backstory.
As with the first one we’re still left with a huge plot twist and cliffhanger which damn, i’ll be out for a couple of days at least while I go through her next books.

Throne of Air and Darkness by Emberly Ash
(Secrets of the Faerie Crown #2)
Rating: 4/5

Veyka Pendragon's world ripped apart, her body and heart shattered, until a mysterious voice beckons her back from the brink.

Despite never being fated for the throne, she now rules as High Queen of Annwyn, her side adorned by Arran Earthborn, once her adversary and now something deeper.

As hidden truths unfurl and trust hangs by a thread, they embark on a perilous odyssey to unearth reality, ready to stake everything they hold dear.

This tale elevates Veyka's evolution to staggering heights, from a self-absorbed soul to a guardian of realms and bonds. Her journey is enthralling, resonating with raw authenticity. The bond shared by Veyka and Arran, both as partners and comrades, radiates with a brilliance that cements them as destined allies. Their love is tumultuous, yet its turmoil instils the narrative with a piercing intensity.

The language and vocabulary in this book were much clearer and easier to take on compared to the first book in the series. There was a noticeable increase in dialogue, and the addition of two more points of view. The writing flowed smoothly, avoiding the slight clunkiness and jumbled feel of the first book.

Thank you so much to Cara Maxwell Romance, and the author, Emberly Ash, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

I found this to be a more politically-focused and action-packed installment than book one, and I personally enjoyed this. It still had frequent steamy scenes and a swoon-worthy romance, as well as a cast full of all the most loveable characters, alongside this too. The perfect fae romantasy!

Title: Throne of Air and Darkness by Emberly Ash
Secrets of the Faerie Crown, Book 2
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stars

Veyka Pendragon finds herself torn apart, both physically and emotionally, but a mysterious voice pulls her back from the brink. Despite never being destined for the throne, she now reigns as High Queen of Annwyn, accompanied by Arran Earthborn, once her enemy and now something more. As secrets unravel and trust wavers, they embark on a perilous journey to uncover the truth, even if it means risking everything they hold dear.

This story delivers everything and more, propelling Veyka's character development to astonishing heights. From a self-centered individual to a protector of realms and friends, her transformation is captivating! . Veyka and Arran's dynamic as a couple and a team shines brightly, solidifying them as true soulmates. Plus it’s messy but makes the angst so real that you feel it all!

The narrative is more accessible, with smoother writing and additional POVs that enhance the storytelling. This installment is politically charged and action-packed, offering a thrilling sequel that balances steamy romance with a rich cast of characters.

This is a must read for all romantasy lovers!

This book DESTROYED ME.

This book had me crying. I was just riding along, watching Veyka finally start to give in and be vulnerable with Arran, enjoying the adventure, and then BAM. Parys. I lost it. And that cliffhanger?? My gosh, I couldn't handle it. But it was so good. The details in the world description, the depth of the magic and social systems, and the parallels to Arthurian legend are all so well done. I'm just so eager for the rest of the series!
