dnf. i tried really hard to get into this book and i couldn’t. mainly due to the fmc. it honestly was just her personality and also the fact that she doesn’t support her grandmother after earning the money. she overall just portrayed as selfish to me and overall didn’t like the tiny judgmental remarks she’d make about people in the story. overall, just showed what kind of person she is that i just can’t seem to like.

I'm afraid this wasn't what I was expecting. My mistake, so don't discount if you are interested.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

As an OG fan of Hush Hush, when I saw the news that it was getting traditionally published and revised, I knew I had to get my hands on this early to see what was different and I’m pleasantly surprised that most of the content is the exact same and there’s no major changes!

Tropes:
Forbidden
Age gap
Taboo
Morally questionable
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This isn’t a book for everyone. It’s decadent, thrilling, sexually charged and full of tension. James, isn’t your typical vanilla hero, he was almost an anti-hero for me, based on some of the things he did, but boy is he one fineeeee silver fox! This is the story of Aubrey, a college student who needs money (don’t we all 😭). When she is presented with the opportunity to earn some major cash, she takes it and enters a new world, filled with new sensations and experiences. It’s there that she meets a man old enough to practically be her grandad (kind of hehehe), who has his own secrets that he’s keeping from her.

These two were absolute fire together, and they had me giggling, blushing, screaming and at one point made me want to throw my kindle in the air. Their journey wasn’t easy but love never is and all in all I’m so happy Lucia stayed true to the OG version and that everything important was kept the same.

Thank you so much to netgalley, the publishers and Lucia Franco for my arc in exchange for an honest review!

I had trouble connecting with the story and characters. All the characters seemed to not be fully developed had inconsistent qualities that bugged me throughout reading.

Hands down, one of the spiciest, taboo books I have read this year. I was not expecting that at all, but not mad about it. The cover is beautiful, story line interesting, and spice top notch!

Thank you for the approval!

This book was described as Pretty Woman meets Fifty Shades of Grey, and that is very accurate. It read like fanfic, in the way Fifty Shades does, so I didn't love that. But the story was pretty interesting and the spice was very good. The writing was at times awkward and didn't hold my attention, but it made up for it in the spicy scenes.

I would recommend this book if you are into age gap romance (31 years) and heavy spice.

Wow, what a book. Very very spicy and not for the fainthearted. I loved the storyline and really got on board with the characters. Loved the idea that the girls were high class escorts but I did not like how much drugs and alcohol was used. I think at times it was unnecessary!
I would recommend this book if you like spicy novels.

Where do I begin? This is the first time I read a book blind. I didn’t read the synopsis, I choose to read it because a friend recommended it. Full Disclosure time. I found the beginning to be tedious and slow to take off, I wasn’t feeling much sympathy for Aubrey and her situation. It took awhile for me to get into this book and when I finally did it was WORTH IT. I enjoyed the way Aubrey’s alter ego Valentina developed. I found her to be the perfect counterpart to Aubrey’s true self and her no nonsense approach to her lifestyle choices were oddly liberating. The two halves forming the perfect whole. James, sexy as sin, rich as hell, dirty AF, the perfect Alpha male except we see a soft side to the domineering-commanding older man. I was completely taken by him and his give zero shits attitude. He is the perfect man for Valentina/Aubrey. And then BAM, out of no where the plot twist that had me shaking my head and re-reading the same scene over and over - totally unexpected and it took the storyline to another level. I have to say that I’m glad I read this book and suggest you add it to your TBR list.

I loved everything about this book, from the bantering to how the character's relationships were set up.
I felt like the book was really well-paced and delivered exactly what I was hoping it would

I love the friendship explored between the two main female characters at the start of the book. It really sets the tone for what's to come. I enjoyed reading this story, and I thought it flowed very well. I wasn't bored reading it and actually stayed up late to find out what was going to happen. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Four stars.
