I cannot wait for the final version of this book. The author alone, MrBallen, will entice my kids to grab this book and devour it and the awesome illustrations and stories will keep them flipping the pages. Perfectly executed, easy to follow layout, with graphics to enhance, not take away from the stories. Definitely want to revisit this around a campfire or during spooky season in October. Will be purchasing a copy for the library .

Just as amazing as hearing his tales on youtube! His flair for storytelling thrives in this medium and I look forward to seeing what he does next.

This is a review that I’m super excited to share because I am a huge MrBallen fan! I’ve been watching his videos consistently since 2021. His story that spooked me the most is featured in this book - Bells Canyon!

MrBallen Presents: Strange, Dark, & Mysterious: The Graphic Stories is a graphic novel of some of his most popular stories, and the artwork done by Andrea Mutti is phenomenal! Of course I rated this book 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and would recommend to everyone (even my mom)!

I'm a fan of MrBallen's YouTube channel, so when I saw he wrote a book, I jumped at the opportunity to review it. Making this into a graphic novel was a stroke of genius. The slightly messy illustrations work well with my concept of MrBallen's content. I do wish there were either longer stories or more of a selection.

To be honest, I was a bit surprised when I saw the acual drawings, because I had expected a more elaborate style judging from the cover.
However, the story pulled me in nevertheless and I did not notice the style any more.
Pity that the beast of gevaudin was not part of the book. So my favorite story was the Kandahar Giant. Will buy the book to read the missing stories.

I am obsessed with Mr. Ballen and have watched almost all of his videos on YouTube. I was so excited that he was writing a book and even more excited it was a graphic novel. When I started the book, I planned on reading one story before bed but I ended up finishing the book. It was written perfectly and I could hear Mr. Ballen’s voice as I was reading. The illustrations were amazing as well. I hope this becomes a series because these were amazing!

Alright, I went into this as a (HUGE) MrBallen fan, not a graphic novel reader. I took a chance on it because I absolutely love everything Ballen.

I cannot speak to its quality compared to other graphic novels because I have never, ever, picked up a single one before now. The story-telling stays true to the voice MrBallen has in all of his videos, I could almost hear him reading to me and I think that's exactly what one would want from this type of book. The graphics are beautiful and well done, with the haunting quality that I expect from any creepy, unexplained type of story.

If you are into GNs, you love MrBallen, or just strange, dark and mysterious stories in general, this book will be right up your alley!

The art style is very complementary of Mr. Ballens' stories. A perfect fit, I'm excited for the release to read the exclusive chapters!

I am a big fan of Mr. Ballen and have watched his videos as well as listened to his podcasts. I was so excited to see that he came out with a graphic novel and jumped at the chance to review it. Just like everything else he does he put his heart and soul into this book.

The art style is gorgeous and really translates to Mr. Ballens storytelling style. The stories in the arc copy are ones I've heard on his channel before but seeing them drawn on the page puts a new spin on it. As always he is such a great story teller and I am excited when the full book is out with the new stories.

Fans of the Strange Dark & Mysterious will really enjoy this and I can also see older teens really enjoying this type of graphic novel. I recommend!

As a fan of the strange, dark and mysterious told in story format, I must say I loved this book! The stories are tension filled and the artwork is stunning! The artist did a great job. Was a little disappointed that the four new stories weren't in it, but I understand. He loves to keep his fans on our toes! MrBallen is a talented storyteller and I hope he writes more books!

As I have been an avid fan of Mr Ballen for years now, when I heard he was creating a graphic novel version of the Strange, Dark and Mysterious series, I knew I needed it in my life!

This novel includes a number of tales which can all be read separately and are relatively short, making it a perfect one to pick up when you don't have a lot of time to delve into a book.

I found this to be thoroughly entertaining, eerie and visually pleasing. I'd recommend this one to anyone with an open mind who loves to learn about others' unusual/unorthodox stories.

This graphic novel collection, crafted by John B. Allen, widely known as MrBallen, features nine stories that delve into a mix of paranormal activities, natural world horrors, and psychological threats, all based on true events. These stories range from bizarre and seldom-discussed occurrences like the unexplained screams in Nahanni Valley to the Kandahar Giant in Afghanistan, and mysterious UFO sightings in Utah. The novel pairs MrBallen's gripping storytelling with the artistic talents of comic book artist Andrea Mutti and writer Robert Venditti, offering a chilling exploration of the darker aspects of human experience and the unknown​. Most of the stories have already been told on Ballen's youtube channel, but to see it drawn masterfully, gives it a new appealing spin to the stories.

This was every bit as awesome as I was hoping and expecting it would be. I'm a huge fan of the Mr. Ballen youtube and podcast already, but as a bookworm- I've been dying to have the strange, dark, and mysterious stories in reading format!
The artwork is beautiful and portrays each scene wonderfully. All of the stories are eery and told just as you would expect from Mr. Ballen. There are exclusive stories that are not in the digital version right now, and I can't express how excited I am to read them now once release day comes! Each story also has a section in the back where you can find sources and read more into them. I appreciate that both the author and the artist have an "about" section as well.

I was beyond thrilled to see two of my (and many other's) favorite stories, The Valley of Headless Men and Bell's Canyon, included. I also noticed the original Mr. Ballen story, which is the absolute best addition- where it all began!
This book is so cool, and strange, dark, and mysterious fans everywhere will love it!

I loved the graphics so much! They definitely added to the story telling. I had sent Bette heard of MrBallen before reading this but I was very intrigued through the whole book. This is definitely an author I will look more into!

4. This is one lower level readers in high school will love, spooky stories and strange happenings are the name of the game for Mr. Ballen. I wasn’t sure how it would work in graphic novel from, but it’s great. I like that the stories are all very different and come from a variety of places around the world, it adds nice texture. As a English teacher it would fun to use this as the place to start researching similar tales from other countries. Students could also try to change well know spooky stories into a graphic novel format. Plenty of uses!

As a big fan of MrBallen and his YouTube channel, which has over 7 million subscribers, I was thrilled to get this ARC. It didn't disappoint! The book brings his best stories to life with great illustrations and keeps his storytelling style intact. It feels like his YouTube content in book form, full of strange, dark, and mysterious tales.

As the cover MrBallen's stories suggest, these are the types of scary stories shared at night around a campfire. Whether you believe the stories are true or not is not the point. Their main purpose is to send a shiver down your spine. As with any collection, some stories are stronger than others but overall this is a great collection. The most believable story was "Thorns" and the spookiest was "Bells Canyon."
