Ok, I seriously loved this. I have been in bit of a down with my book selection lately and this one was absolutely fantastic. It feels like a truly innovative take on the isekai genre, which if you follow my reviews you will know I am notoriously critical of. There are just so many places an isekai story can fail and so many ways to feel too derivative of the tropes of the genre. But this book here takes so many of the tropes and adds a fresh new spin to them in a way that feels truly refreshing. I particularly loved how it handles the interaction between the protagonist and the gods that sent her to this new world, it is a surprisingly key part of the plot where other stories would just brush it aside, and it adds an interesting layer to the dynamics of this world.
In addition to that, I found all of the characters to be great. This first volume does a great job of laying out the people we are going to be following in the future and gives everyone a solid foundation to grow from while still leaving room for more characters to be added in as we progress in the story. This is one where I’m pretty sure we are going to follow the MC for many years as she develops her powers and takes control of her destiny and I can’t wait to see who all we meet along the way to do that.
I also want to take a moment to shower the art in here with the utmost praise. It is beautiful. I love the fashion choices, the background choices, and the stylized way of speaking to the gods. There is a great distinction between the new world and the old world and everything inbetween in clearly telegraphed through the art. You wouldn’t think this was important to mention, but let me assure you I’ve read books without these things and let me tell you you notice them when they are gone so appreciate them when they are done well.
Just overall a super strong first volume that shows so much promise for this series. Definitely pick this one up to regain some faith in the isekai genre.

Our main character died in the real world; she transmigrated to a time loop web novel, where she reincarnated as 10-year-old Ailette Rodeline.
Ailette is a strong and smart character; she works hard to earn new skill sets and overcome all the challenges.
The concept of a person dying in the real world and then transmigrating to a web novel is fun to read.
This manhwa is cute and enjoyable. I loved the illustrations and colour, it was beautiful.
I’m looking forward to reading vol. 2.
Thank you to NetGalley and Yen Press/Ize Press for the e-arc!
The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine is about Ailette Rodeline who is a child prodigy with a secret. Ailette is a transmigrator who died in her previous life and is now starting over in a time loop novel as a side character. The world-building in this story is very detailed and combines aspects of not just isekai stories but games as well. At its core, the story is a bit stereotypical but I think the characters and the art style sell it for me. I like Ailette as a character and her journey will be very intriguing. If you are like me and get bored of Isekai stories, this one might be worth checking out.
Thank you to Yen Press and NetGalley for the eGalley to review!
This was every bit of delightful as I had hoped it would be and even funnier! While it's another isekai in which the protagonist realizes they're in another world, particularly one that's based on media that they know, this one takes it up a notch when our main protagonist actively works with the "Voice Who Shaped the World" to guarantee her success and survival. She becomes overpowered, but not too much so, and it dazzles the other characters in the world and sets into motion a new set of events that weren't in the original novel. It reminds me of My Next Life as a Villainess, but with some extra perks for the main protagonist... and I loved it.
I eagerly and heartily devoured this first volume and I'm excited to read more. I can guarantee those who enjoy the genre will too!
This was so cute! I really enjoyed the art (in spite of all the pink), and the plot was a good combination of isekai and video game without skimping on character development.
Will definitely continue this series.
I absolutely adore this Manhwa! This is beautifully colored and the art is stunning from beginning to end. It has such a fun and interesting premise and it really takes it and runs with that idea. It’s over the top, funny, and incredibly entertaining. I feel like I could live inside of this world for ages.
Ailette is dead, but she gets a second chance to live her life as a character in a webtoon comic. She gets to level up and obtain abilities to help her survive the events of the story and make it her own. As she has been tested as an S-class heroine, she obtains some insanely OP abilities and even creates a whole religion by herself.
The story is wild in the best way and it made me smile at all the ridiculousness of it. It has all the mixings of a great webtoon. It makes you feel you are truly living in this alternate reality with a heroine who truly has special abilities beyond all others.
I had a blast with this one! I cannot wait for more. I will definitely keep an eye out for the sequel and beyond when those eventually release. I highly recommend this!
I really enjoyed this one! It's so cute and the storyline was not at all predictable - to me at least. I love the main character, she's strong, smart and a quick thinker, plus she cares about helping people who need it. The concept of a woman dying before her time in real life, then transmigrating to a different world/story thanks to a strange life insurance policy and having to survive in that new story is a lot of fun. It's like she's living in a videogame where she becomes a young girl and is able to purchase skill sets with her life insurance payout and level up with experience. The "gods" there are entertaining and unique and I like that she's brought into a family where she has a father and brother who love her because she didn't have anyone left in her real life. I was fully immersed in this story and the artwork is gorgeous, with lots of bright colors and very clear images. The story flowed seamlessly from panel to panel and was easy to follow. It's definitely a great choice for anyone who's looking for an adventure story or a story with a strong female lead. It's a quick, fun read that I highly recommend and I can't wait for the next volume!
Thanks so much to Yen Press | Ize Press for the digital ARC via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This volume will be published May 21, 2024 so keep an eye out!
Cuteness overload! This is absolutely adorable with a wonderful main character in Allie! On top of that it's has an amazing twist on the Isekai genre and makes Allie the Apostle of a new God to the world she ends up in. I found that to be a refreshing twist on the genre especially since the gods are hilarious. The art is wonderful and this was a full color manga from beginning to end. Full color, a rarity when it comes to manga.
Overall, definitely recommend if you enjoy isekais and absolutely can't wait for volume 2!
As always thanks to Yen Press and NetGalley for the eArc!
This is such a cute story, I was super excited when I saw it and just had to read it. This is a story about a girl who is reincarnated before it's her time to die. The reincarnation goes love books so when you die and get one of their packages and get to live a sceoned life in a story book. Our main character gets put into a hard book and it is super cute getting to see this girl use her smarts to live in her book to the fullest.
In a world where the afterlife consists of gods using their powers to materialize fictional novels as new worlds, our unnamed main character purchases an insurance package before her untimely death. She becomes Ailette Rodeline, an insignificant character who is expoited by her employers in the novel "Infinite Returns to Save The World." The novel follows the premise of groundhog way, with the main character turning back time everytime he dies. With the highest possible difficulty, Ailette tries her best to protect her family and survive the impending desctruction of the world.
The art is absolutely gorgeous. It has your standard anime look, but the amount of detail and consistency is impressive. I loved reading about Aliette and her adventures. It's heartwarming to see how she found a home, family, friends, and a place she belongs in her new life. Even though she's in a child's body, her mentality doesn't regress to one. She's smart, sassy, and quick witted, and the humor actually made me laugh. She's powerful and she can purchase assistance from the gods, but her personality steals the show.
4.5 stars!
The MC before her death purchases a life insurance that allows her to transmigrate into a novel. She utilizes all her knowledge and skills from her previous life to gain new skills and to level up in her current life in the novel. I absolutely enjoyed the story as well as loved the bright colors that were utilized in the story. If you love when the MC has character development and she is OP, then this one is for you!
Thank you netgalley, Ize press, and Yen press for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
In The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine, Vol. 1, our main character gets killed, but just prior to her death purchases a life insurance policy. In her world, once you die, you transmigrate into a story. She gets stuck in a time loop story, but due to her life insurance policy, is able to level up and gain a ton of money right away. She utilizes her purchased skills to create success in this new world.
The story reminded me of your classic level up type manga. The main character has to keep gaining experience to progress. It's humerous though because the main character Ailette can just purchase all the power ups, making her overleveled.
I thought the artwork was unique in that the main girl looked more like your typical manga character (big eyes, bright colors), where the background characters had almost a different style (more toned down colors and less prominent features). It was really well done, and I loved the style and color palette.
I thought the way the panels were ordered made the story clear to read and understand. However, some panels seemed to be blank, like there should have been words there but they were forgotten. These looked like blank white rectangles or ovals that often showed up in the corner of other panels. I'm wondering what they are supposed to say, and also hoping this gets fixed before the book is released. It seemed like I was missing information or story text from the blank panels. There were also a few panels that were blurred, but it didn't seem like it was due to a stylistic choice-it seemed unintentional and I hope these get fixed as well.
Overall the story was enjoyable. I think this would be great for teens and adults. You will like this if you enjoy level up stories with overpowered main characters. 4/5 stars
Thank you so much to netgalley and Yen Press for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few word bubbles that were either blank or impossible to read in this ARC... despite that here's my take-
A young woman is transmigrated into a infinite time-loop novel where she inhabits a young servant girl named Ailette Rodeline. The story has an S-class ranking, meaning it's super hard to live through without dying. Fortunately, she brings with her some nice perks and a hearty resolve!
This was such a fun read! I loved the silly take on transmigration! The story really sold it well and I very much enjoy the characters so far. (I'll have to re-read the webcomic in order to get all the context.)
