The Christmas Catch is the perfect holiday read! Even though the temperature has been in the 90s here, I'm ready for Christmas after reading this novella. Bebe and Jahleel's second chance romance is adorable, and little Hope adds some fun, whimsical moments. I appreciated the reminder to be present in the moment and not forget how to live life because of past hurts. Overall, this is definitely a must-read for the upcoming holiday season!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I did not realize how central religion would be to this story when I picked it up. It was over the top for me, as God, prayer, and the church were mentioned in every (short!) chapter. I went in looking for a holiday romance novella and walked away feeling like I had just read some major Christian propaganda.

Ensure your Christmas TBR list includes The Christmas Catch, republished with a new title, cover facelift and added content.
Toni Shiloh has once again written a book full of
holiday cheer, depth, and a strong message of faith woven seamlessly through out. Readers will be refreshed by this football focused, high school sweethearts, second chance romance as they too consider whether or not to let life sideline them.
This is a sweet Christmas read you’ll return to year after year.

A novella as sweet as southern tea is what you get when reading The Christmas Catch by author Toni Shiloh.
NFL player Jahleel “Jay” Walker is back home in Georgia, recovering from a season-ending injury. He’s got a lot on his mind, dealing with what his future holds, a preacher father who is cold as ice, and the beautiful, kind next door neighbor he dated and dumped over a decade earlier.
Divorcee Bebe Gordon is a wonderful mom to her seven year old daughter, but after the what she went through with Jay, then even worse from her ex-husband, she’s rightfully gun-shy as far as relationships go.
But the sparks she and Jay had in high school didn’t seem to fade one bit. Jay’s throwing Bebe a Hail Mary, but will the Lord direct her to complete the catch for a future together, or are they destined to fumble? You will want to find out in The Christmas Catch, plus it has my favorite, an epilogue!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

I’m a sucker for a beautiful black couple on the cover of a book..then you make it sports related and Christmas themed— why yes please, gimme, gimme!!
The Christmas Cafch was a really cute read and quite bingeable— it’s a short and sweet Christmas romance story with 2 characters who have history. I loved their development with communicating with one another as the story went on especially with Jahleel and his fractured relationship with his dad, Reverend Obadiah. It’s a feel good story that’s perfect to usher you right into the holiday spirit!
The Christmas Catch is a story of second chances, forgiveness and restoration so go ahead & add this one to your winter holiday tbrs!! 🎄

The Christmas Catch was such a sweet story of second change romance and also healing past hurt. The faith content was amazing. The side character plot of Jay and his father probably resonated with me the most given it hit close to home in my own life. Shiloh does such a good job writing even the hard relationships, and seeing these made to rights is always satisfying to read. Thank you Bethany House and the author for my arc, this is my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of The Christmas Catch by Toni Shiloh.
The Christmas Catch was a sweet Christmas romance. It as about learning to trust God and taking second chances on love.
Bebe and Jahleel were in love in high school. Jahleel left Bebe to pursue his dreams of being a pro football player. A knee injury brings Jahleel back home. Bebe and Jahleel reconnect. Jahleel and his father had a fallen out before he left for the NFL. Through forgiveness and faith they reconcile their relationship.

4.5 stars
This was a sweet Christmas romance. I adore Shiloh’s books and I was excited to get my hands on this one. The Christmas Catch has been republished with a new cover and added content but it is still lovely.
Bebe and Jahleel had history but they never expected to have a second chance. I really liked both Bebe and Jahleel, they felt real. They were both trying to figure out life, and God had thrown them some curve balls. Jahleel was back home because of an injury while playing football and Bebe found herself next door to the man who broke her heart when she was in high school. I liked getting to know them more and reading about them learning to trust God.
This was a sweet story of redemption and second chances. I enjoyed the relationship between Bebe and Jahleel as they spent time together. Their romance was sweet and it didn’t feel rushed. I liked how they talked to each other. Hope was a sweetheart and I loved reading about her. The interactions that Bebe and Jahleel had with Hope were the best.
The side characters were interesting. I adored May. She was just so much fun. Jahleel’s relationship with his parents was intriguing and added to the story. The story was engaging and I like the faith themes that were woven into the story.
I would totally recommend The Christmas Catch. The Christmas Catch is a clean Christian Christmas Romance.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

Sweet Christmas romance filled with second chance love and faith.
Lucille “Bebe” was down to earth and easy to like from the start. I agree with her questioning her initial choice with Will. He was SO unlikable and the way he treated his daughter was irksome.
Jahleel was a treat. He is just what Bebe needed and their romance was so sweet. I loved the awkwardness at first and them needing to rekindle their romance from years ago.
This is a fun one to get you into the feel good, holiday spirit!

This was such a wonderful holiday read! Jahleel and Bebe were high school sweethearts who hadn't seen one another in years, until he returns home injured from the NFL. They had a great, easy chemistry between them that I couldn't help but be drawn into. I loved seeing them work through their issues--- not just in their relationship, but in other areas of their life too. Jahleel and his father had had a falling out before he left for the NFL, so seeing the reconciliation in that relationship was also really heartwarming... and seeing his faith journey throughout was really great too. Toni Shiloh is absolutely wonderful at perfectly weaving together romance with strong faith elements and that definitely held true with this one as well. It was the perfect heartfelt, faith-filled romance with just the right amount of Christmas cheer for the holiday season... and I absolutely adored it.

This was my first Toni Shiloh book, and it was a great introduction to her work. I’m eager to read more–and soon!
Second-chance romances are hit or miss for me, and this one was a big hit. Bebe was a delightful leading lady. I loved how much she loved her daughter and wanted the very best for her. She had a crazy ex-husband, yet she wanted so much for him to show up for their daughter. Jahleel, who mostly went by Jay, had some tough lessons to learn, and he was growly about them, but he had some redeeming qualities. I especially liked how chivalrous he was. That is one of my favorite qualities in a man, and it was well highlighted in this novella. Seeing Bebe and Jay come together and re-explore, but in new ways, the love they once shared was wonderful.
“… the twirling action of the skirt was plain fun.” Yeeeeesss! We girls still love a twirly dress after we become women. Cherish the child inside, y’all! May we always retain a bit of whimsy. I love that this author featured this moment. It’s not something I see often, though it’s something I feel every single time I put on one of my twirly dresses or skirts. Well done, Mrs. Shiloh!
“When we place man’s limitations on God, His promises seem impossible. When we remember He is perfect, just, and loving, then His promises shine like the truth they are.” So true! I love, love, love this line. Everything, especially promises, is possible with God, y’all.
I was disappointed in only one line: “She was like a gorgeous Mary Poppins.” I understand the sentiment. Bebe was really, really pretty. However, I also believe that Julie Andrews and Emily Blunt, the two women who have portrayed Mary Poppins in movies, are really, really pretty, and they did spectacular jobs as the exceptional nanny, too! This is a complete reader-preference thing, as I’m sure this line won’t bother many other readers. It just felt noteworthy to me because I’m so fond of Mary Poppins. The Mrs. Andrews version was a part of my childhood, and the Mrs. Blunt version was a charming addition later on.
I’m eager to read another of Toni Shiloh’s books later this year. Any suggestions on which one to pick first?

The Christmas Catch is a touchdown Christmas story for me. Toni Shiloh does a wonderful job painting a picture of life for Jahleel and Bebe. As with all of Shiloh’s stories, each character goes through much personal growth and spiritual growth, even in the short time span of the Christmas season. It is a challenge to the reader to be open to change and willing to grow. This story has its conflict and hard moments, but they are all wrapped up in a warm and cozy story including deep and meaningful moments with a pretty bow that ties up the happy ending, just like a Christmas gift. Pull up a cozy reading spot, grab a blanket, and pour a cup of cocoa to enjoy while you read this heart-warming Christmas book.
I requested a copy of this book for review. The thoughts expressed here are wholly my own.

The Christmas Catch was a delightful Christmas read. Bebe, who is raising her daughter Hope, is afraid to live life after her divorce. Injured football player Jahleel has a strained relationship with his father and left home after having had a falling out with him. Jahleel and Bebe had a history.
Shiloh crafted a wonderful, sweet Christmas read with a great storyline, delightful characters, a wonderful faith thread, reconciliation, and a second chance at romance. You don't want to miss out on reading this, especially if you are a football fan.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a delightful Christmas story! I loved every second of this sweet second-chance romance.
I really liked Bebe and Jahleel. They had amazing chemistry, but they also had history. There were some unresolved issues that they still needed to work out. I was rooting so hard for them!
Jahleel and his dad had a big falling out when he left home years ago. There was a lot of hurt and resentment built up, but I was hoping they could get past all that and reconcile.
This book was a lot of fun, but it also had a lot of depth. I loved the strong message of faith that was woven so seamlessly throughout the pages. If you’re looking for a heartwarming Christmas romance, I highly, highly recommend this story. It was a breath of fresh air and just what I needed during a stressful time.
I received a copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and lovable. The pacing was perfect and left you wanting to read more. I can't wait to read more by this author!

THE CHRISTMAS CATCH by TONI SHILOH is a most delightful holiday read where we find second chances and relationships between family and friends, all wrapped up in a fun filled story. There is a strong sense of God’s unconditional love, the importance of asking Him for wisdom before making decisions, of letting go of past hurts and living life to the full.
I recommend this enjoyable novella for the great characters, the lovely story and the strong Christian message running through it.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publshers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

The Christmas Catch by Toni Shiloh is a Christian romance book and a Christmas novella. An wholesome and sweet read with the Christmas spirit of love, joy, sharing, forgiveness, restoration, etc. I loved the romance between the two main characters and also two supporting characters. The beautiful lessons of communication and forgiveness leading to both emotional and physical healing were also impactful. A good read.
Thank you, Netgalley and Bethany House Publishers for giving me this book. All opinions expressed are mine.
