What a beautiful book about the value of patience, taking our time, and soaking in time with our loved ones! The illustrations and language are so beautiful and inspiring and I highly recommend this both for children and for caregivers as it will touch the hearts of everyone who reads it. I'm excited to read this at my son's bedtime.

Charlie is spending a quiet, gentle day with her grandpa that turns out to be quite magical as they take the time to notice the world around them. As the sun makes its languid arc across the sky, the two companions revel in sights, and smells, and each other's company. This is a lovely sentiment, and a lovely book, made even more special by Lucie Crovatto's warm, lush illustrations.

This gorgeously illustrated picture book depicts a little bear girl spending the day with her grandfather, where he chooses to take the slower routes to their destinations so as to enjoy every moment. A good lesson for us all to slow down, and really admire the world around us!

Charlie is spending the day with her Papa Joe, but things aren't exactly going the way she expected. When she suggests going out to eat Papa Joe teaches her how to make a delicious soup. When they go to town Papa Joe wants to walk instead of drive. In fact, everything they do is done at a much slower pace. Charlie soon finds out when you take your time to slow down you can enjoy and appreciate the things going on around you.

The Sun Never Hurries is delightful, refreshing read. The brilliant color scheme focuses largely on yellow, which really made me feel brighter and happier when I was reading. I love how Papa Joe didn't lecture Charlie, but led by example instead. He met all her needs and wants, but in his own time and his own way. Roxane Turcotte and Lucie Crovatto have created a sweet, charming book about relationships, expectations, experiences, and how we choose to perceive them. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, and will be looking for it in a physical copy.

Such a sweet story between a grandfather and granddaughter. Papa Jo spent the day with his granddaughter teaching her the importance of slowing down and enjoying the little things.

I also really enjoyed seeing a grandfather vs a grandmother prepare a meal with their grandchild and spend time with them.

The illustrations were gorgeous. Both of my children were in awe of the beautiful pictures.

This book was perfect for my oldest (5) but a little long and over the head of my youngest (2)

What a lovely book! Papa Jo is trying to teach Charlie the importance of slowing down and enjoying every moment. A perfect "teachable" moment book for kids. The writing was nice, easy enough for smaller kids to read with their parents, and the illustrations were absolutely wonderful!

My Thoughts: This book has a delightful message about slowing down and enjoying the little things in life. I believe this is a much-needed message in today’s world, and the perfect subject for a children’s book.

The art is fabulous. I love the bright, warm colors, the adorable characters, and the gorgeous scenery throughout the book.

The only thing I thought was quite odd about this book was that the style of the art seems to change half-way through the book. It’s still beautiful, but more distress and collage-y. I don’t know, but I thought it was a little strange.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

It’s got a great message, and beautiful pictures. I enjoyed it!

Such a sweet and adorable book, with beautiful and colourful illustrations. I really enjoyed reading this book and going on an adventure with Charlie and Papa Jo.

This book is a wonderful way to instill in children the wonders of slowing down and smelling the roses (and it doesn't hurt as a reminder for us grownups, either). When Charlie spends the day with her Papa, she's so excited for all of their adventures that she just can't wait! Papa, however, subtly shows her the beauty in taking their time; walking among the wildflowers instead of driving, preparing homemade meals instead of restaurant food, etc. With beautiful illustrations to match, this is a sweet story that everyone can appreciate.

A really wonderful book. Lessons in taking things slowly. Enjoying the journey. Not being rushed.

There is an hourglass in Papa Jo's house. "The hourglass reminds me to take my time to get things done. Just like each grain of sand, every moment of your day is precious," Papa Jo says. Charlie is a bit puzzled by this. Papa Jo smiles. Charlie will gradually grasp what Papa Jo means as the day progresses.

While Charlie wants to go to a restaurant, Papa Jo has other plans. After entering the kitchen, Papa Jo begins peeling carrots and potatoes. Charlie is interested in peeling too. In no time at all, both of them have a mountain of peels. Papa Jo fills the pot with vegetables and broth. They will soon have tasty soup to enjoy. Charlie thinks it's the best soup ever!

There will be more surprises to come. Papa Jo is taking Charlie to the village for another surprise. As Charlie searches for the car, he wonders where it is. They will be walking, Papa Jo says. Along the way, Charlie is amazed by all of the wildflowers. The wildflowers weren't visible to Charlie while in the car. Charlie was thrilled to discover Papa Jo's surprise for her in the village!

Papa Jo wasn't done yet with their adventures. In the next adventure, Charlie would be left in awe and amazement. In the book, Charlie collects something that connects her to Papa Jo.

In Papa Jo's wisdom, Charlie would understand how slowing down and appreciating life can give you a new perspective on everything. It was a wonderful book. Additionally, the illustrations were beautiful and perfectly complemented the text.

I am a sucker for beautiful illustrations in children's books and this one is absolutely the best! It's just gorgeous! And the story of a little girl and her grandfather taking it slow and enjoying a day together is just precious!

It's a gorgeous story about patience and taking your time. The relationship between the grandchild and her grandfather is beautiful and touching. It makes me yearn for a simpler time when I could spend time with my grandfathers.

The Sun Never Hurries is a wonderful picture book about a young bear named Charlie and her grandfather, Papa Jo. Papa Jo teaches Charlie about all of the wonderful things in the world that you can see, when you slow down to look for them. I really enjoyed this book. I think the text was just right, and it would be a wonderful bedtime story for kiddos. The illustrations were gorgeous and definitely stood out. I can see The Sun Never Hurries being a new classic for picture book readers everywhere!

Scooper and Dumper and the Pumpkin Parade by Lindsay Ward comes out July 8th. My three boys loved the trucks adventures with the pumpkins.

A Rubbish Journey by Jonah Rideout was a really cute chapter book my daughter loved. The story was fun, and entertaining. It comes out June 24.

Keep Trucking by Raven Howell was an adorable book. The illustrations were super cute and my boys again loved the truck story. It comes out May 10.

Ain’t It Funny by Margaret Gurevich was another fun chapter book about following your dreams. My daughter really enjoyed this one. It comes out October 14.

What Are They Feeling by the School of Life is one that is so sweet and great to explain emotions. The kids and I had some fun conversations to follow this one. It comes out September 11.

The Great Turkey Walk by Kathleen Kar is a wonderful story of friendship, and takes you back to 1860. It comes out October 7.

Hailma Superhero Princess by Emily Joof was adorable. The storyline and illustrations were very exciting for the kids. It comes out September 2.

The Sun Never Hurries by Roxane Turcotte was my favorite. Such a precious story and the illustrations were darling. It comes out June 24.

Make a Little Wave by Kerry O’Malley Cerra is a really exciting story! My daughter said this was her favorite. She loved the characters. It comes out September 30.

To Mimi’s House We Go by Susan Meissner was another of my favorite. The story, the pictures, the adventure it took you on was absolutely precious. A fun one for the holidays. Comes out Sept 9.

Leonardo Cohen by Maria Isabel Sanchez-Vegara was a cute story! My kids love to learn new things and these are always so full of knowledge to take away. It comes out August 5.

Fall Feast by Sean Taylor made our family very excited for playing in the leaves. It comes out August 5.

Diwali by Sital Gorasia Chapman was such a good one for kids to learn about another culture. It comes out August 5.

When Charlie sees Papa Jo’s hourglass he doesn’t understand what it is. So Papa Jo takes the time to show him the beauty of taking the time to see and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Such a wonderful and thought-provoking little story about slowing down and enjoying the little things in life. The illustrations are soft and truly beautiful. My littlest library patrons would love this book. Highly recommended.
