What a lovely book. This is Whitney’s and Nick’s story. This book has so much heart to it. The mystery of the ghost is revealed. This is such a good feel book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy. I enjoy Ms. Keim's novels. They're always heartwarming and this novel is as well. Whitney is trying to escape Hollywood and the death of her ex boyfriend after a drug overdose. Her sisters and grandmother GG are helping her settle in to life at Lilac Lake. As the sisters renovated a house left to them by GG, they are confronted with a ghost story. Whitney sets up a play for the kids in town for a summer activity. The local bully dad tries to intervene when his son wants to participate. His drunken, abusive behavior not only affects his family but catches the eye of the police chief and is sent off to rehab. Whitney and the police chief rekindle their romance. The love and support the sisters have for each other is touching. As always, there is a little drama but everything resolves at the end.
Judith Keim is a must read author for me. I have loved and enjoyed all of her books. She always creates strong connections between the characters, I always connect with them. I highly recommend any and all of her books.
I loved this book. If you have been reading this series , this one focuses on Whitney and her life . Of course Taylor and Dani are in it too after all they are sisters. Whitney has to sort out things about Zane in California. read about her and Nick and what happens. Also the ghost in the cottage is another thing to read about. . This book is a VERY GOOD READ. Hope there will be a visit to Lilac Lake in the future to catch up on all 3 sisters.
Whitney is back in her hometown, with her sister's, renovating the Lilac Lake Inn and the cottage her grandmother GG has given them. Sometimes life gives you unexpected things to deal with, and in this book, Whitney has lots of things to deal with. As she moves forward in seeing where she is in life now, she decides there is so much negativity, that she decides to have the kids in the dance studio put on a play. This brings her joy and a light, that helps her through. There are times when the fear within her is so strong, she wants to give up, but she has her sister's and their fiancé's, her grandmother, many friends that she made while working on the play, plus she reconnected with her old boyfriend, Nick.
Her journey is far from smooth right now, but she moves on, facing what life brings to her life each day. I loved reading all the discoveries she made along the way, the things she had to overcome, and finally see who she became by doing it.
I received an ARC from Judith Keim, and like all her books, the connections that are created between the people are strong, I always connect with them, my soul really enjoys reading her books, this is another story that I will think about them for a very long time.
I received an ARC from Wild Quail Publishing through NetGalley.
