This is a heartbreaking book , It shows how everyone take grief in different ways, it definitely teach you a lesson on how to have empathy with others and helps understand a little bit better how life and grief works. I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with loss.
Incredibly courageous
What strikes me most about this book is the incredible courage of its author. This thorough and illuminating exploration of the life-altering cycles of loss, grief and gratitude relies on her detailed examination of pivotal losses in her own life, and the lives of family members, Through these personal stories, we see how our own losses, and the ways in which we deal (or fail to deal) with them will shape our future, as well impact those around us. This was three hundred pages of raw honesty so challenging that sometimes I had to set the book aside in order to reflect on my own experience. - but that was the author's purpose. I am richer for having read this book; and , gratefully, I too will never be the same again.
And She Was Never the Same Again is a memoir that delicately explores the universal experiences of love, loss, and resilience across different cultures and periods. The narrative weaves together personal and collective traumas, touching on everything from the stigmatized death of a partner to the profound impacts of first loves and lasting grief. What makes this memoir particularly moving is its ability to connect deeply personal events with broader, almost universal experiences, making you reflect on your own life and relationships. Reading this book was an emotional journey that left me more aware of the indelible marks life leaves on us all, and I appreciated its raw honesty and beautiful prose.
