A second chance holiday-themed romance featuring two romance authors, forced proximity, & only one bed. All I Want Is You is a light, fun read that’s sure to get you in the Christmas mood! I really enjoy Falon Ballard’s writing style- it has a nice flow which makes it easy to get sucked into her stories. The chemistry was evident between Jess and Nick, and I enjoyed the cozy inn vibes. This was not groundbreaking but I really enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for 2024 holiday romances. This is definitely one of the better Christmas romances I have read!

Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me. “All I Want Is You” but I’m 49% in and all I can think is they don’t really want each other at all. I gave up, but I do think others will like it, just isn’t my cup of tea.

This was an excellent second chance romance and I loved how the story about two romance writers was told somewhat through their writing process. I thought both characters had great stories and loved how the tropes they often write about played out on the page was such a fun way to tell this story. I really enjoyed the Christmas vibes and appreciated that they weren't over the top. The spice in this was the perfect balance and overall this was a great read!

I loved the sound of this book and the set up but I did not end up loving how it played out. The characters fell a little flat for me and I didn't love how they finally reconnected, I was underwhelmed by this one!

This is my favorite book by this author. Such a cute, fun, quick holiday read that many people will love.

All you will need for Christmas is this book. All I Want Is You by Falon Ballard. I'm not always the biggest on second chance romances but I read everything by Falon so I dove right in.

Our two MCs are Jess and Nick, two romance writers who dated five years ago until Nick broke up with Jess right after Christmas. In the present day, they are thrown together in a one bed/shared space trope. They discover that there may still be feelings there.

Nick and Jess are good characters. Kind-hearted and you can see why they were together. Neither is super obnoxious. I wish the book were a little longer so we could get to know them more but Falon Ballard always manages to put it what is needed.

Falon herself calls this book short and sweet and it is. It is an easy, quick read with plenty of steam.

I have read everything that Falon Ballard has written and felt so excited to see a Christmas novel on the new release list for 2024! Not only do I love love, I love Christmas, so what can be better than love at Christmas penned by an author I’ve previously enjoyed, right?

One thing Falon Ballard is unmatched on for me is creating the sweetest male leads. Each of them had such a sweet, sensitive side, with some more mysterious than others. ALL I WANT IS YOU featured Nick, a somewhat grumpy but total romantic author of romance novels. He captured my heart from the beginning with his devotion and admiration of his assistant, Hilary, and his niche role as an unmarried romance author. As more layers were peeled back throughout the story, Nick was hands down the best part of this book. His character had depth, charisma, and as we got further into the story, a vulnerability that a lot of MMC don’t have.

I struggled with Jess. I’m not sure where this one missed the mark for me, can’t quite put my finger on it. I didn’t find her entirely unlikable, necessarily, but I also didn’t see her as someone that Nick would be totally head over heels for. She lacked the depth and range that I typically connect with in stories, and that made the sections from her POV a little unreadable for me.

I know that this next part will be a hot take, as there seems to be a belief in the book community that thinking too much explicit content in a romance book is not a reason to knock off a star in a rating…but I feel it needs to be said. I believe that book reviews are subjective and are based solely on opinions, and I found the amount of sex in this book to be a lot more than what I prefer as a reader. 3 VERY open door scenes in a 272 page book is just..a lot. It was right on the cusp of taking away from the story, as it made it feel that Nick and Jess only cared for each other because of their chemistry in bed.

I enjoyed the way the typical “third at breakup” was approached in this story, the part that I usually dread. While some may say it was centered around miscommunication, I would say that it was centered around Nick’s insecurities, and to me, that felt totally believable and relatable with where the characters were in their lives.

I enjoyed the tropes incorporated into this one, as well - enemies to lovers, second chance romance, snowed in, there’s only one bed - I thought they were all woven together effortlessly. I thought the Christmastime setting was great, too, making it read like a true holiday novel.

Overall, a solid Christmas romance from Falon Ballard, and I will read more from her in the future!

Falon Ballard can write a holiday romance with the best of them. I really enjoyed this one. I always struggle with the lack of communication trope, but, was able to look past it in this story.

Overview: To gain more exposure within her publishing house, romance writer Jessica Carrington agrees to attend her publisher’s holiday awards ceremony to present the Romance Author of the Year Award. The only hiccup? She will be presenting the award to none other than the more high profile romance writer Nick Matthews, AKA the ex who dumped her right before he successfully published his first book. Due to an epic snowstorm and a missing hotel reservation, Jess is forced to stay in the same hotel room as Nick - will she finally find out why Nick broke her heart 5 years ago?

Thoughts: As a romance reader, I really enjoyed this one, especially with all the references to romance novels between the characters. This is the first book I’ve read by Falon Ballard, who is clearly skilled at writing rom-coms! The build-up between the exes was pitch-perfect - it was clear that these characters were meant to be together (I especially liked the flashbacks!). However, the rationale for why Nick broke up with Jess was pretty pathetic. All I could think was that they wasted 5 years being apart for essentially no good reason! BUT, the super sweet “grand gesture” made up for it (somewhat, kind of). I’ll definitely be checking out Ballard’s other books!!

Take home message: All I Want Is You is a fun Christmas-themed romcom about two romance authors (who also happen to be exes) who are forced to stay together during a snowstorm and figure out why they broke up in the first place. Other features: dual POV, flashbacks, lack of communication, “only one bed,”and several open door scenes.

Christmas is a sort of romance catnip. There's something about combining the most wonderful time of year with romance that makes a perfect match (if the popularity of Hallmark Christmas movies tells us anything).

All I Want Is You is a delightful holiday romance. Jessica is a midlist romance writer. Her books sell, but she still works part-time as a barista. Christmas used to be her favorite time of the year, but ever since her boyfriend Nick dumped her right after the holidays, she's struggled with the holidays. To add insult to injury, Nick is now a wildly successful romance writer, and Jess has been asked to present an award to him at their mutual publisher's h0liday ball. It's the last thing she wants to do, but she agrees because she knows it's a good career move.

Of course, everything goes wrong (or perhaps right by romance standards): the inn loses her reservation, there are no more rooms, and a snowstorm has made travel impossible. Cue the classic romance trope, sharing a hotel room with only one bed.

All I Want Is You is basically everything I want in a contemporary holiday romance: holiday cheer, a second chance story, and a sweet, sexy romance. The forced proximity of being stuck at the inn forces Nick and Jess to deal with their past and maybe think about a future, all while trying to co-write a holiday romance. It hits just write and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a holiday romance.

I loved Just My Type so I was so excited to read this arc of All I Want Is You! It is the cutest holiday read that made me kick my feet constantly! It felt like a hallmark movie and got me super excited for the holidays.

What I Liked:

•Slow burn
•Nick and Jessica both being romance writers was so fun

What I Didn’t Like:
•I wish we got to see more of the other characters! Sometimes it felt like they were just there to be there and didn’t have a purpose

All I Want Is You is a slow burn that immediately got me into the holiday spirit, someone get me a peppermint mocha! It was super easy to read and gave me hallmark vibes spicy version.

Nick and Jess are both romance writers who used to date but Nick breaks up with Jess for some unknown reason on Christmas. After the break up, Nick becomes a best selling author romance author even though his books don't have happy ending while Jess is a struggling low tier author at their publishing house. Fast forward five years and the two finally meet again at an awards show where Jess presents Nick's award for Author of the Year. After locking eyes they come to realize the spark might not be gone, throw in a big snow storm that leaves everyone stranded at the hotel and these two MIGHT have a second chance on love.

I absolutely ate this book right now. It’s so good. I love a spicy holiday read.

Jessica has always wanted her happily ever after and if that has to be in a book, so be it. She thought once upon a time that she would settle down with her ex boyfriend Nick. He was the love of her life and an author.

They are forced into working together and Nick realizes that maybe he needs to make his books have a happy ever after spending time with Jess.

This book was so cute but so spicy as well.

I recommend giving this book a read, especially if you love Fallon Ballard’s books like I do.

First, let me say that I will read any book that Falon Ballard writes. I’ll even read it if it’s a second chance romance which is my least favorite trope because she is just that good.

This book is a second chance holiday romance and my Hallmark movie loving heart was so happy while reading it. Ballard has a way with writing characters that are so relatable which is one of my favorite things about her books. I loved Jess and Nick so much. There chemistry was off the charts.

It took quite a while to finally get to some steamy parts, but Ballard’s writing is so entertaining you don’t notice the wait.

Definitely pick this up if you’re looking for a feel good holiday read.

It had been been five years since he broke her heart, and now, Jess found herself reunited with Nick when she was asked to present an award to celebrate his success.

I am such a HUGE Falon Ballard fan, and All I Want Is You is a perfect example of why. This story hooked me from the very first page, and I was fully invested in seeing this couple get their HEA.

I think I was supposed to hate Nick (at first), but I never could. I KNEW there was more to the story than met the eye, and I was right. This was a man who had regretted his choice to break it off with Jess every day for the past five years, and this resulted in him being a romance author who could not write a happy ending. I was pleased that fate forced these two together, giving them an opportunity to address their breakup because it was easy to see they had something worth saving.

Aside from adoring both Jess and Nick, I also loved the premise. Two romance authors who were getting their second chance. Needless to say, I was excited that this book featured one of my favorite tropes, but we also had a storm and only one bed. It was fun seeing all the tropes come into play, but even more fun because the authors were so aware of them.

The Christmas flashbacks did a great job of allowing me to see what a beautiful relationship Nick and Jess shared in the past. But, it was the last few chapters that made me declare my love for this book. I was shedding the happy tears and *this* close to sobbing because what transpired was simply perfection. It caused my heart to grow two sizes while a big stupid grin split my face in two. It was so wonderful and heartwarming and just perfect for Jess and Nick. In a nutshell, I had such a wonderful time reading this book, and I hope others will, too.

Falon Ballard is one of my new favorite author and I was thrilled to be able to read her newest title All I Want Is You. It is a second chance, lovers to enemies trope due to Jessica and Nick having a past relationship and not speaking for quite a few years.
The book takes place during the Christmas season at a publishing event for romance writers and Falon adds the dreamy element of a snowed in hotel that that involuntary proximity forces Nick and Jessica to coexist in a hilarious way. The use of dual POVs, which is my preferred style, allows the reader to get insight as to why the characters feel and act the way they do. I also liked the banter that took place via texts between Jessica and Nick as well as between Jessica and her friends. It was realistic and so today! The use of flashbacks gave the reader the solid sense of the loving relationship that they once had and the importance of Christmas in their lives and explained the deep hurt and resentment that Jessica harbors.
Jessica and Nick's journey to understanding what happened between them was an emotional rollercoaster with all the feels. They did not immediately fall back into each other's arms as twists and turns littered their path. All I Want Is You was such a fantastic story with characters that drew you into the story and made you hope that they might find forgiveness and reunite. Every detail plays an important part and the way past details find their way into the present day story shows the reader that the author has taken the time to create a well- crafted book. I also loved all the nods to the world of romance writers and readers!
