Here's the truth. I don't want my fun holiday romances to have a lot of drama. I want peppermint mochas, warm sweaters, and big Christmas trees. All I Want Is You delivers just that.
The book follows two former friends, turned lovers, turned enemies, turned professional rivals, turned lovers again as they are forced into close proximity when they are snowed in at a hotel. Jess is a midlist romance writer/barista who had her heart broken by Nick, a best-selling romantic fiction writer (he doesn't believe in HEAs in his books). When she's asked to give the intro to his Romance Writer of the Year award, she balks. But a series of antagonistic DMs leads to both of their best creative writing in ages. When they have to share the same bed at the above mentioned hotel, their chemistry roars back to life along with their writing.
We don't know why Nick broke up with Jess until late in the story, so you see some flashbacks of their previous relationship in interlude chapters, but most of this story takes place in the present. Yes, there's some drama, enough to keep the story moving, but not enough to break the holiday vibes. The book is short, more novella-length, and is a quick and easy read. I can imagine curling up with a hot chocolate on a cold winter's afternoon and knocking it out in one sitting.
One star off for the fact that I think the relationship is largely driven by their sexual attraction, rather than any broader connection. That's fine, but for self-proclaimed "loves of their lives" it seemed somewhat shallow.

What a nice novel, I've read it in less than two days.
Nick and Jess are ex lovers who meet again after 5 years. Both writers and working for the same publisher, Jess has to present an award for best romance writer to Nick. The gala takes place in a cottage where they are left stranded because of the snow and of course, no more rooms are available so they have to share Nick's.
This was my first book by Falon Ballard and I couldn't have chosen a better one. There's tension, spice, banter and feelings. Couldn't recommend it more.
All I Want Is You checks all of my holiday romance boxes. When romance author exes attend an awards ceremony and get snowed in days before Christmas, Jessica and Nick revive their writing partnership and sparks start to fly on and off the page. Funny, genuine and joyful!
As someone who has read and loved Falon Ballard’s previous work, I was so excited for this one so I was already bound to enjoy it. The story follows Jessica, a popular romance writer who is hoping for her big break. She ends up getting it in the form of introducing another “romance” writer named Nick at an awards ceremony for her publisher.
There are a few issues with Jess introducing Nick. First, the two of them used to date and had a pretty ugly breakup. Second, Jess hates the way Nick writes romance as none of his books have a happily ever after in the end. As we all know, having an HEA is the core part of any good romance book and he doesn’t seem to follow the conventions of the genre.
Since it’s the Christmas season though, most of us know what happens. Everyone gets snowed in and Jess is forced to stay in Nick’s room with him. Since this is a second-chance romance, there is so much delightful tension crackling between them. It’s clear there are still feelings there even if they don’t want to admit it and it makes for such an entertaining read.
In addition, Falon Ballard adds moments of Christmas past when the two were still together and even shares why and how their breakup took place. It was so excellently done and made the romance all the more believable. The other thing I loved was that this book was relatively short but took a complete story and it really made me fall in love with these two and their romance.
All I Want Is You is the ultimate holiday romance for those wanting to get in the spirit or needing something to get them out of a slump. This was such a fun and fast read that I read it in one sitting so I couldn’t recommend it more. It’s also a great one if you’re new to Falon Ballard and want to get a taste of her writing.
Overall, All I Want Is You was the perfect Christmas read in my opinion. While this book might not work for everyone, this was a present I can’t wait to unwrap again and again.
Love Falon Ballard's writing - so much fun and q light quick Christmas read. Felt cozy without being too festive (especially as someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas). Wish for a bit more background on the two characters would have maybe given a drop more depth
All I Want Is You is an adorable second-chance romance with all the makings of a Hallmark movie. I Loved it. I loved the banter between Jess and Nick and was hooked after that—Snuggle up with this quick, cute read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Falon Ballard, and G.P. Putnam’s Sons Publishing for my Copy
This is a perfect second change holiday romance! The plot being about two romance writers living out romance tropes in real life almost sounded too good to be true, but the book was exactly what I hoping it would be from start to finish. This book pulled me in immediately and was a perfect cozy and heartfelt holiday read.
A few years ago, I read The Roughest Draft, a romance about two authors (and ex-lovers) who are forced together to co-write the final book of their contract. I remember disliking it intensely because of the clear animosity between the two emotionally-repressed protagonists and feeling like I didn’t want them to have a second chance. There was also a slimeball agent vs. the editors and publicity manager in this story who truly seem to have Nick and Jess’s best interests at heart. Although All I Want is You has a similar premise, the sense of hope and holiday spirit in this story is the antithesis of its lesser counterpart. Yes, it’s a second chance, forced proximity romance in which the protagonists are co-writing a holiday romance that somewhat mirrors their own, but it’s also obvious from the start that Nick and Jess still very much care for each other despite a painful breakup five years prior. Although there are lingering heartbreak and questions about what led to the breakup, there’s also respect and admiration for what they’ve each accomplished in their careers, even if Nick’s trajectory has been steep and highly-successful while Jess’s has been slow and steady, but not yet to the point she can quit her day job. I love the way author Ballard manages to weave together a story within a story that loosely follows the rekindling of their romance and seamlessly blends their differing writing styles. The setting, a cozy cabin-style boutique hotel in upstate New York during a blizzard, decked out in its Christmas finery, is delightful and the perfect backdrop for this sweet, but steamy holiday romance. Highly recommended.
Christmas is a magical time of year for holiday loving Jess and holiday loathing Nick.
What happens when two writers who still have old feelings get stuck in a one bed, forced proximity, work place situation? SPARKS FLY! I absolutely loves Jess and Nick and the banter between the two.
Jess and Nick are each romance writers but with different styles. Where Nick writes no happy endings, Jess is all about the characters coming back together and living the happily ever after her and Nick didn't get.
But when she is supposed to present an award to Nick she tries her best to be the bigger person. But what happens when the hotel loses her reservation and the snow is too thick for anyone to leave? Nick offers for Jess to stay in his room after five years apart. Will they or won't they?

I’d like to give a huge thank you to Penguin Group Putnam and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read the latest from Fallon Ballard.
I first fell in love with her books when I got to read Just My Type and am an even bigger fan! All I Want Is You is the sweetest (and spicy) story about second chances. Set during the holidays, we follow Jessica and Nick after a break up as their writing careers begin, Nick’s catapulting him in the writing world while Jess has to work a part time job to make ends meet. After a chance encounter and a snow storm traps them together, the sparks fly but the pain of their past is still so painful and present.
“𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘶𝘴.”
As a small-time romance writer, Jessica just wants her own happily ever after. The fact that her ex-boyfriend slash-archnemesis, aka the Boyfriend Who Ruined Christmas, is a very successful romance writer known for writing love stories without happy endings drives her crazy. Finding out she has to attend her publishers annual holiday ball and preset Nick with the ‘Romance Author of the Year’ award is the last thing she wants to do. And it definitely calls for a revenge dress. Will being snowed in at the hotel and forced to share a room with only one bed make things even worse?
This is a funny holiday romance about two romance authors who are reliving their relationship through their writing. The banter reminds me of a Christina Lauren book. It’s a quick read that I highly recommended adding to your holiday TBR list.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.
I had not read any of Falon Ballard's previous works so I was not sure what to expect.
I am finding it more and more disappointing that so many romance authors are trending so graphic in their books. It is to the point that these cute covers are deceiving. I wish authors would realize that less is more. This would have been a really sweet story if it wasn't for this fact. I am not specifically picking on Ballard because it is a widespread problem.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
What a perfect fluffy holiday read! All I Want Is You was a fun second-chance romance with a holiday twist. I loved the flashbacks to Christmases past, so I wish there was a little more of that. I also loved that the main characters were authors. It made me wonder if what was depicted in the book about the writing process and the publishing industry was accurate!
I love everything by Falon Ballard and this one is no different! Definitely need to add it to your Holiday season TBR!
My first book from Ballard - I loved the banter, the wit, and it had the perfect amount of spice. It’s September now, so I can finally start checking out the holiday books without fear of judgement
I loved this book so much! The perfect amount of spice, banter, and Christmas vibes. I am excited for others to read this one.

It’s Christmas in September with Falon’s new holiday romcom! This was such a cute rump!
Think Hallmark meets Gilmore girls meets the Romcom book community. Two romance authors one whose book are giving Nicholas Sparks and one who writes real romance, who are ex basically stuck in a hallmark christmas movie, only with more angst and lots of spicy flashbacks.
I think this might be Falon’s spiciest book yet, but also one of the most fun. I loved all the tongue in cheek references and I did tear up a couple times over these two dummies trying to figure things out.
This book is perfectly timed for the holidays but also for the Romance community as a whole. Definitely a most read for the holidays!
Falon Ballard has been an auto buy for me ever since her first book. She’s an automatic five star read and this book was no exception. They’re fun and easy to read with a HEA.
I’m a sucker for second chance romance and the grand gestures are truly gesturing. This book had a holiday feel along with feeling like it was a love letter to romance readers around. I wish I took longer to read as I felt like I finished much too soon and envy those who get to read it for the first time.

All I Want Is You is a delightful, heartwarming romance that had me hooked from the first page. The tension between Jessica and Nick, both as exes and rival authors, is electric, and the "just one bed" trope brings all the fun, flirty moments you’d hope for. Their witty banter, creative chemistry, and the cozy holiday setting make this a perfect read for anyone who loves second chances and forced proximity. The emotional depth of their relationship—especially as they confront past hurts while rediscovering each other—is beautifully written. This book is pure romance magic!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
