All I Want is You is a whimsical Christmas romance that had some amazing tropes in it. This story follows Jessica and Nick and their animosity as ex-lovers who reunite and must acknowledge each others success, or lack thereof. When the weather takes a terrible turn and Nick and Jessica are forced to stay at the inn together it is time for them to come to terms with how their relationship ended.

This book was fast paced, spicy, and had some holiday vibes. I would recommend reading this book if you enjoy these tropes:
-exes to lovers
-one bed trope
-authors and bookish content
-second chance romance
-holiday romance

I felt that the end of this book was a bit rushed but really enjoyed it overall.

ੈ♡˳ rating: four of five stars

ੈ♡˳ thoughts:
this book was super cute! it was also very short, not novella short but definitely a one day read if you have the time. i’m a big sucker for christmas books and christmas time in general. jess is a sucker for christmas, just like me, but the last few years christmas has been a dud for her because her boyfriend/love of her life broke up with her a few days after christmas. they are both romance authors who go through all the tropes they put their characters through in their books. this was a pretty cute book, a little spicy but not nearly as spicy as other books i’ve read. i would probably say 2/5 stars on the spice level. i would recommend this book to many friends!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The chemistry between the MC’s was fantastic, and I’m a sucker for good banter. I also appreciated the inception of reading a holiday romance book about authors writing a holiday romance book - this added some uniqueness to the plot!
Bonus: a cute New Girl Easter egg

Falon Ballard is an auto-read author for me, and "All I Want Is You" is not exception to this! Since her debut book, her expertly crafted romances absolutely suck me in, and I must read in one sitting. I started this book on the bus, and was so entranced that I kept reading on my walk home from the bus stop. I loved both Jess and Nick, While I don't typically love the second chance romance trope, in both Just My Type and Right On Cue - Falon Ballard has continually knocked it out of the park. All I Want Is You is just another example of this, and her ability to portray the pining, the love, and the absolute heartbreak of a second chance romance. I absolutely loved the way Jess and Nick's manuscript(s) mirrored their real-life conflict, and watching them sort through it that way was a very interesting plot device. Of course, the thing I love about every Falon Ballard book is how wholly and truly you can tell the characters love and care for each other.

Cannot wait to read what's next for her!

4.5 I LOVED THIS BOOK! Fallon Ballard is an auto-read author for me, I’ve truly never been let down by one of her books! I’m normally somewhat weary about Christmas books, but this was the perfect level of festive. I was able to feel the Christmas joy, but also wasn’t annoyed by any of it or feeling weird reading it while it’s ninety degrees out. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eArc!

I am a huge fan of both Falon Ballard and holiday romances so I was extra excited to read All I Want Is You and it did not disappoint. If you are a fan of second chance romance and you hate miscommunication romance this book is for you.

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 is a fun, quick (less than 300 pgs), second chance romance filled with all the cozy, snowy holiday vibes you want. With the addition of all the amazing banter, spicy scenes, and group text chats that we love in Falon’s books, it’s definitely a holiday read to add to your list! My only complaint is I could have done without one of the reasons they broke up the first time. IYKYK! Thank you to @putnambooks and @netgalley for an advanced copy!

A cute, festive, spicy romance about two exes who happen to be competing romance writers who get snowed in at a cozy inn right before Christmas. Featuring a smattering of tropes like one bed/close proximity, stuck due to weather, potential second chance love, etc., the fact that they’re both romance writers makes it all very tongue in cheek.

I wish there was a little more plot and a little more of a challenge for them to maneuver, and a little less of the instant physical response to the other person at every interaction, but overall it’s a great escape for the holiday season.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love a second chance romantic comedy! This book had me laughing with hearts in my eyes the whole time I was reading.

Jess and Nick (love that people call out New Girl when they hear the names, because that was my first thought) broke up 5 years ago after dating for 3 years. The whole time they were together, they were both convinced that this was their happily ever after. But then, after signing their book deals, he broke up with her, and she's hated him ever since. Now, they're stuck in a hotel together, she doesn't have a room, and his room only has one bed.

I felt like they were breaking the fourth wall by mentioning the tropes they were experiencing, as they were happening, and I loved that! Also, I loved the depiction of the romance writers community, and that an author who refuses to write an HEA is ostracized (as he should be).

The romantic gesture at the end and the epilogue were swoony! This was a good, quick read and I recommend it for anybody who loves second chance romances, with dual POV and a healthy dose of forced proximity.

This is all the best wintery tropes in all the best of ways following two authors, one struggling, one accomplished. They dated and worked together until he got his first big book deal and his career skyrocketed, and she got her book deal and life stayed relatively status quo. When she's asked to present him with an award that ends up being in the middle of a snowstorm that snows them in for days, their history, their present, and their current deadlines catch up with them.

Set with the narration of present day and flashback chapters to their previous Christmases, this is one of my favorites from Ballard yet.

What happens when one is asked by one’s publisher to present an award to a rival romance writer who also happens to be the man who broke your heart? Novelist by passion, barista by necessity Jess has been presented with just that task. It’s not bad enough he’s her ex, but he’s enjoyed wild success even though he’s never written a happy ending. Meanwhile Jess’s conventional romances are stuck mid list as her publishing house allots the lion’s share of their promotional resources to her former love.

Dealing with writers block while receiving an award from his publishing house, Nick is horrified and gratified in equal measure that the one who got away will be presenting his award. When his agent and his editor decide Nick and Jess should write a romance together, Nick is all too eager to see Jess again, and even if she wants nothing to do with him in any capacity except professionally, he’s game.

When a storm strands them and forces them to share a room with only one bed and a very inadequate chair, will they rip each other’s clothes off? Or rip each other’s heads off?

This was an incredibly satisfying read. I loved it from start to finish, and I didn’t want it to end.

I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and NetGalley, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.

This was a really cute quick read that got me in the holiday spirit. It's like a Hallmark movie in a book.

I really loved the tension and banter between Nick and Jessica and any story with a snowed in one bed scenario is always great. Don't let the cute cover fool you, there's spice in here too.

The thing I didn't love too much about the story was Nick's reason for the break up and then in the end when Jessica was like hmm I can see how you may have been right about that. I felt like that wasn't really character growth and didn't coincide much with how I perceived Jess during the rest of the book. It wasn't bad but it didn't feel right.

With all that being said, I still very much enjoyed the book and would recommend it as a holiday read. I am curious to check out more of Falon Ballard's books now.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Fallon Ballard and Penguin Group Putnam | G.P. Putnam's Sons for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another win for me with Falon Ballard's new book. As with all of her other books, I found the characters relatable and liked their story. Though a little off season, a great holiday read.

What a delight! I loved this quick holiday second chance romance. The reason they broke up felt believable to me and I enjoyed learning more about the behind the scenes of the publishing industry. If you've like Falon Ballard books in the past, this one is a no brainer and who can say no to some extra holiday spirit.

3.5 stars rounded up

Jessica Carrington is a romance author whose career never quite took off. To add insult to injury, her ex-boyfriend Nick Matthews is also a romance writer with the same publisher - despite his books' lack of happy endings - and has had tremendous success ever since dumping Jess five years ago. When her publisher asks her to present Nick with an award at their annual holiday party, she wants to say no but knows it will be good move for her career to agree. When a winter storm traps everyone at the upstate New York inn the party is held at, Jess ends up having to room with Nick after a mishap with her reservation. Their chemistry doesn't seem to have dissipated in the intervening and as they spend more time together, they begin to wonder if their own second chance is right in front of them.

I enjoyed this book - it was a super quick read at less than 300 pages - and a great Hallmark-style holiday romance. I didn't have the same deep five-star feeling that I have with Ballard's past books, but I still liked it a lot. I'm a sucker for a he-falls-first story line and even though Nick was the one to break up with Jess previously, he was still harboring feelings and was such a simp for her! I didn't love the reason for their initial breakup but I felt like it was at least understandable. I do wish this book was a little bit longer and fleshed out, but overall, a fun holiday romance!
