This book initially had a lot of promise, but became to disjointed for me to enjoy. The concept - a young jewish lawyer name Jonah - is an interesting one, as a modern retelling of the biblical Jonah. Although there are moments of good humor and prose, I finished the book with a sense of relief that t was over.

Not as good as I thought it was going to be. Ambitious, but ultimately doesn't deliver.

The idea sounded intriguing, but the voice of the novel just turned me off. I couldn't find a compelling reason to keep reading after the first few chapters--the characters were all annoying, and the action wasn't interesting.
