Great for dinosaur lovers and a great take at the dinosaurs’ Christmas experience. I love how different dinosaurs had jolly cloths at the beginning and end pages. It was fun filled and full of jokes that makes children laugh. Illustrations give lots of exploration and conversation options to enjoy reading multiple times.
This was a fun book to read with my kids. It was very festive for Christmas and fun to see all the destruction the dinosaurs do for the holidays. This would be a perfect book for that dinosaur-loving kid. As a parent, I did start to feel bad for the kids in the story that were watching the dinosaurs make a mess of things, but the ending is sweet. I had a fun time looking at all dinosaurs in the Christmas sweaters and talking about which one we like best. I was able to read this book through NetGalley for my unbiased review of this picture book.
Children’s Book Feature : A very dinosaur Christmas by Adam Wallace
If your kid loves Dino’s and Christmas then this is the book you need to add to their gifts this season.
Decked with Dinosaurs
I think it would be impossible not to get some giggles out of little ones as you read this book. It included dinosaurs I had never heard of and were expertly pre-introduced on the inside cover before and after the story-perfect for the dinosaur fanatic in your life. And if they weren’t before they will become one after this story. The story is true to form-It wouldn’t be a holiday without a little chaos right?
Includes directions for a cute Christmas craft at the end.
The illustrations were filled with the action to fit the storyline and were delivered in a captivating way.
I received a free copy of this book from Adam Wallace and Tommy Nelson. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.
Guests at holiday time can cause chaos. But what if the guests are dinosaurs? Adam Wallace is famous for his "How to Catch" series but he has teamed up with illustrator Christopher Nielsen to create the fantastic funny "Very Dinosaur" series. In this book, the dinosaurs stay over for Christmas causing all sorts of problems. From dino-snores that keep you up at night, to an ankylosaurus stuck in the chimney, Wallace will keep the kids laughing. I loved the jokes about the tyrannosaurus Rex not being able to reach things. I also loved the dinosaurs in Christmas sweaters. Neilsen's illustrations are bright and bold and even more funny than Wallace's jokes. At the end of the book, kids appreciate the dinosaurs despite the trouble they cause. This book would be great to share with kids facing a large family gathering. This book is sure to become a Christmas Classic to be shared by families, schools and libraries at story-time.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers. My dinosaur-loving granddaughter adored this book. The story was engaging and had funny moments that made her laugh. The illustrations were bright and colorful, adding to the overall appeal. It is a wonderfully imaginative book, offering fun for both the reader and the child.
This was a cute story with great illustrations! My daughter loved the idea of imaging what it would be like for dinos to join us for Christmas. Highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I would definitely buy this to add to our annual collection of Christmas books we read. We have four kids ranging from 1-5 and it was enjoyed by all. Set up nicely, cute story, nice artwork.
Read this with my daughter and she loved it. The illustrations were great. Loved the colors. She absolutely loved all the dinosaurs. Great holiday book.
I had a great time reading this book. The illustrations were beautiful and did a wonderful job helping move this story along. This house has a few surprise guests and they certainly make this celebration one these kids aren’t going to forget anytime soon. Most kids will have a lot of fun reading this book.
This book was perfect. I love everything Christmas and my son loves everything dinosaurs. Its the best of both worlds for us. My son loved looking at the pictures and making dino sounds as i would read it. I am definitely going to add this to our Christmas book reading list. I highly recommend for other parents.
My toddler has decided he does not like dinosaurs very much but I found the book to have a good plot for kid’s and will (hopefully) keep them engaged throughout. So cute!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy to honestly review.
My son loves the "How to Catch" series, so I was excited to pick this up with him! This is an adorable children's book full of silly scenes of Dinosaurs creating chaos at Christmas time. My 4 year old loved this book and asked for it multiple times. I enjoyed reading it, the words and rhymes flowed smoothly and my son was able to follow along with the storyline relatively well.
Thank you to Netgalley and Tommy Nelson for an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
My dino loving boys enjoyed this cute story, imagining what it would be like to have dinosaurs be part of your Christmas celebrations. We giggled together and had enjoyed the bright colorful pictures that made the story even better! I'm sure this one will get read many times over the Christmas season...and beyond!

My grandkids were big dinosaur fans, but as they have gotten older, they have lost a bit of interest. I think that might be why this book didn't grab them as much as I thought it might. In this book, dinosaurs come to spend Christmas and wreak havoc. They eat the tree, tangle up the lights, hang up their underwear instead of stockings, keep everyone awake snoring, eat all the food and more. It leaves the kids feeling very sad and lamenting that it is the worst Christmas. Seeing how sad the young boy is, pterodactyl takes him for a ride over the town where they drop gifts to everyone and see the town from up high. This changes his mood and after giving gifts, making snowmen celebrating with the dinos, it becomes the best Christmas ever. We talked about what makes a good Christmas and what might make it an unhappy Christmas. Unfortunately, they talked a lot about material things, which was a bit disappointing to me. We then talked about feelings and that it is okay to be sad about things, but also good to try and cheer people up. The illustrations were well done, with the dinosaurs done in a cartoonish form. Sometimes they showed actual size, others they were barely larger than the children. This would be a great book for kids who are fans of dinosaurs.
This book is perfect for any little one who loves both Christmas and dinosaurs! I'll definitely be grabbing a copy for my kids. The illustrations are fantastic, and I love how it features so many of their favorite dinosaurs!
Thank you NetGalley!

If your little ones love dinosaurs and you're looking for a festive holiday read check out A Very Dinosaur Christmas. This was a fun story that brings dinosaurs to life and imagines what it would be like if dinosaurs were alive today to celebrate Christmas. Though it sounds like fun having dinosaurs around causes quite the mess. My 4 year old had a fun time with this book.

This is a rhyming story about dinosaurs celebrating Christmas with children. The illustrations are very, very colorful and have so much detail and humour that readers will want to look closely at every page. Young ones will enjoy having this book read to them by a parent or grandparent, and because of the rhymes, will probably be able to read it off by heart after many reads..
I would say this is a secular book even though it is about Christmas as no mention of Christ is made.
I loved this book! The pictures were very bright and detailed.
The book overall was super cute and I know my middle son who is into dinosaurs would love this book!
It had some humor in the book that had me giggling.
I also loved that they made the dinosaurs fun and bright rather than dark and bland colors.
My son's review:
I love it, and I loved seeing the different types of dinosaurs. They're super funny it'd be scary to have them join. I loved how it rhymed!
My review:
This was adorable. Honestly, the T-Rex passing the food image was hilarious. I laughed several times. Though the flying dinosaurs would be convenient to deliver presents. Lol, super cute holiday book!
