Sweet, simple, and all the fall vibes! Those were the parts that hit for me, the romance not so much. Overall a cute read, but not a romance I will go back to.

Not a romance at all! It mostly focuses on making the perfect autumn/fall drink. I was bored and annoyed that this was marketed as a YA romance because it's not.

This book had me at Gilmore Girls. It semi-lost me at its execution. I get the Gilmore Girls comparison with the mother-daughter thing and the cozy, coffee, fall vibes. It's just a bit of a bland, watered down Gilmore Girls.

That said, this is a cute story when taken on its own. The plot isn't really important here. It's just a sweet, simple story that's good for the fall.

I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.

This has all the mixings for the perfect fall read: a single mom/daughter combo running a coffee shop in picturesque Briar Glen and the national chain competition Java Junction opening a spot across the street! Lucy is an avid baker who hates anything artificial and especially Java Junction's famous Pumpkin Spice Latte, which she refuses to make at Cup of Joe. Her disdain for the PSL transfers to Jack, whose parents own the local store for the global chain. Though Jack seems interested in Lucy, she views him as the enemy threatening to spoil her mom's financial success...until he offers to help her create the best PSL naturally when the business starts to face a rough patch.

This was definitely cute with lots of fall vibes, but it isn't true romance like it's billing. It's more a coming-of- age novel with Lucy's character coming into her own and realizing that maybe her work -life balance isn't exactly what it should be for a teen. While Jack and her have some chemistry and banter, there's literally just a hug and no mention of dating or wanting something more. I thought it was a slow burn, but it just fell flat there for me at the end. Maybe this should be more geared to middle grade readers? I guess I was just expecting more. And Lucy is at times very whiny/annoying although her character does show growth. I am not a PSL fan, but this made me want to try a maple latte like Lucy was always whipping up!

Thanks to Scholastic & Netgalley for the e-ARC.

I absolutely adored this book! The classic romcom You’ve Got Mail meets Gilmore Girls in this cozy, perfect for fall romance. In the small town of Briar Glen a local coffee shop and a coffee chain battle it out, and I could not have loved it more. The only thing that I would have liked more in this book is maybe a bit more romance. I understand that the whole premise was “the perfect pumpkin spice latte,” but with a bit more romance and maybe even more character development.

It was definitely a good book and I will be recommending this to customers all year long!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an E-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I so wanted to love this book. I’m obsessed with fall and Gilmore Girls so this book sounded like it’d be perfect, but it fell really flat for me.

The one thing I did like about this books was the town. It was an adorable small town very much like Stars Hollow, but that was really the only thing about this story that I enjoyed.

I know this is a YA book, but the main character, Lucy, did not act like a high school student. Her immaturity was extreme and she acted like she was still in elementary school. She was annoying and some of the things she did and said actually made me cringe.

The thing about this book that frustrated me the most though, was that it was advertised as a YA romance. We’ll let me tell you, the romance is practically nonexistent in this story. You barely get anything out of Lucy and Jack.

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me, but if you’re looking for a book with Gilmore Girl fall vibes, maybe it’ll be for you.

If your wanting a cozy book full of all the fall vibes this just might be the book for you. It truly gave me all the fall vibes. It was such a fun read. A little predictable when the MMC turned out to be the competition but all in all I really enjoyed this book! It was something I would personally pick up again and again every fall, just to get those fall vibes! I loved that about this book!

I always want to start by thanking the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of the book! I thought this book was really cute. It’s cheesy but in a great way.

This was a very cute, cozy fall small town YA romance with Gilmore girls vibes.
The book was a bit too YA for me or even middle school.
I loved the autumnal atmosphere. But FMC reads very immature and unlikable.

Thank you to NetGalley, Scholastic Press, and Katie Cicatelli-Kuc for early access to this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was the epitome of a middle of the road YA contemporary romance. The story wasn't awful but I could not stand our main character Lucy. She was the absolute worst. Now, I expected a little annoyance with Lucy. I mean, the premise of this story is a girl who despises pumpkin spice and gets entangled in drama with the competing coffee house across the street but Lucy takes this to the umpteenth degree and I wanted to rip my hair out reading from her.

Every other character in this book gave this girl far too many passes for her behavior, especially Jack, and I was over that so quick while reading this. Lucy literally throws a pie in Jack's face (a paying customer of her mom's coffee shop!) because he makes her upset by being a nice person and not only does this guy cover for her but he continues to pursue her as a friend and romantic partner?! It was not a meet cute moment. It was just obnoxious and the fact that no one called Lucy out for being awful in the moment really bothered me.

It was also frustrating how everyone in this book kept pushing Lucy to stop being such a pumpkin grinch and to give pumpkin spice a try and then when she does everyone shit on her for devoting her time to making the perfect pumpkin spice coffee drink. Pick a side people! None of the characters could make up their mind about a damn thing in this book except for Jack who really wanted Lucy for some reason despite the fact that she was constantly being over dramatic and treated everyone in her life like a piece of garbage stuck to the bottom of her shoe.

The one saving grace of this book was the vibe and the atmosphere. I absolutely felt transported to fall with the crisp air, the leaves falling, and the coziness. Also, the author's note/acknowledgements were really sweet to read but while it made me like the author more it didn't change my feelings on the story. I would love to see this author write a cozy msytery series though because they nailed those vibes.

3.5 Stars rounded to 4

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice is a cozy YA romance that fits squarely into the chaste category. There’s a bit of banter, and there’s a sort of one-sided enemies-to-lovers theme that runs throughout.

One-sided because Lucy has a problem with Jack, but Jack has no problem with Lucy. With the exception of some discourse later in the book, Jack feels a little one-note, which makes Lucy’s emotions feel more extreme. The book would have been better had supporting characters felt more like people and less like means to an end, particularly Lucy’s best friends.

Author Katie Cicatelli-Kuc excels in setting the scene — you do feel like you’re walking into a picturesque town at the height of autumn. And you can practically smell Lucy’s creations.

I’ve seen a bunch of reviews saying that Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice feels like it should be a middle-grade novel; that the main character seems too immature. But here’s the thing: Not every teenager is mature or wants “mature” content. Sometimes, they act silly and do dumb stuff that isn’t what we’ve come to “expect” young adults to do. Lucy is 16, and is trying to figure out who she is and who she wants to be. If that takes place in Gilmore Girls-like, rated PG setting then so be it. This type of book is great especially for newer young adults (ages 12-14) who maybe don’t want or aren’t ready for “more.”

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice isn’t particularly thought provoking, but it’s a great option if you’re looking for a little escape.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice is the perfect YA fall read! The Gilmore girl’s vibes, the rivals to lovers, the small town dynamic. I loved everything about this book and the characters.

Lucy and Jack’s love story is adorable, the way Lucy helps teach Jack how to bake was 10/10 some of my absolute favorite scenes in the book. Lucy’s mom was also hilarious, I loved their closeness and the way it was highlighted how much Lucy looked up to and was continuously so proud of her mom and their coffee shop.

Lucy’s hate for PSL was also SOO relatable because I had a similar experience with Pumpkin Spice Lattes until this past year! Overall this story is the perfect fall romance to get into the Autumn PSL spirit.

GILMORE GIRLS FANS HEAD THIS WAY !!!
The whole time reading this book, I could just picture all of the Stars Hollow faces right into this story. Imagine this alternate universe: Lorelei owns the coffee shop, Rory can BAKE, and DEAN is the bookish babe.

Lucy and her mom run their very own small town coffee shop in Briar Glen. A quaint coffee joint in a quintessential northeastern fall town. One day, news comes that one of the largest chain coffee shops in the country is opening right across the street. Little did Lucy know, the new boy in school who may be crushing on her (and maybe she is too??) owns it along with his parents. In her quest to create the perfect pumpkin spice latte, while also vehemently hating the drink, leads her down a story of self realization and a blooming high school romance.

As soon as you dive into this book, you will need to know where Lucy's journey for the perfect pumpkin spice and situationship with newcomer to Briar Glen, Jack brings her.

What brought this book down to 4 stars for me was, unfortunately, Lucy. However, this is a high school romance. I did have to remind myself that while I am in my thirties and know when to speak up and when to shut up, a high schooler does not. Overall, I would HIGHLY suggest this book to anyone who is a fall cozy romance reader or a Gilmore Girls superfan (because you can't just be a regular fan of the greatest show ever).

Thank you to Netgalley & Scholastic for a copy of this ARC!

This was such a cozy autumn YA story with Gilmore girls vibes. The fall New England setting descriptions were immaculate and made me want to go back as a leaf peeper this fall. I Lucy’s relationship with her mother, their adorable cup o Jo coffee shop, and competing Java Junction made for an interesting plot dynamic. This book will make you want to light all your fall candles, sip fall drinks and cozy up under a blanket. I did wish there was more romance, as the romance was pretty much nonexistent for it to be marketed as a fall romance. Thank you to the author, Katie Cicatelli-Kuc NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced reader copy!

Such a cute fall read! I loved the small town vibes and the rivals to more relationship. This book made me want to run out and support my local coffee shops. The pacing was a bit off to me but I am not the intended age for this book. If you like Gilmore Girls and all things fall, this book is for you.

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice heartwarming young adult novel that perfectly captures the spirit of autumn and the teenage romance. I love fall so I was hooked on the theming right away! I found the fall vibes to be very cozy and the story itself to be heartwarming. The characters were lovable and relatable - the perfect novel for fall fans.

I love reading fall theme books. The fall/spooky season is my favorite season. Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice was extremely cozy and I enjoyed the small town vibes. The story follows our main character Lucy and her single mom who run a local coffee shop. Local residents and tourists love and are loyal to Cup of Jo. At the beginning of the story you find out that a chain coffee shop will be opening right across the street. This story was perfection. I loved the baking scenes and I loved the friendship aspect of the story. Thank you once again NetGalley for letting me read this advanced copy.

I absolutely adored this book! The setting was wonderful and I would definitely want to live here! I also enjoyed the plot. There is a lot of teenage emotions going on with the main character and, although frustrating to read as an adult who was in her teens many years ago, it was understandable due to the main character's circumstances.

There were so many moments that I enjoyed throughout, like when Lucy and Jack are making the different attempts at a PSL. When Jack is always waving at her and saying hi, even when Lucy is annoyed at him.

This book gives Gilmore Girl vibes with the single mom and her daughter. The mom opens up a coffee shop in their small town. Then a chain coffee shop, Java Junction, opens up across the street. When Lucy, the FMC, finds out that the new boy in school is the son of the family opening Java Junction, she gets mad. (And ends up throwing a pie at his face!) The story follows along as Lucy wants to help her mom make the business stand out and be successful against the big-wig Java Junction - but it gets a bit out of hand when she wants to make the perfect PSL with real pumpkin in it and ends up burning herself out.

This is supposed to be a YA romance, and although there were some moments, I didn't feel like there were enough moments to call this a "romance" even a YA one.

Overall I enjoyed this book!
