"Ghosted" stands out as Sarah Ready's finest series, with each installment surpassing the last. "Fated," the third book in the series, follows Fiona, sister of Daniel, and her encounter with Aaron, a mysterious figure who haunts her dreams. Fiona, the CEO of Abry Watch Company, has closed herself off from love after enduring betrayal from those closest to her. When her mother presents her with a long-lost family heirloom, claiming it can manifest dreams and reveal desires, Fiona's skepticism is piqued but her curiosity outweighs her doubts.

In her dreams, Fiona finds herself living a life with Aaron, supposedly her husband, and their two children. As she grapples with the blurred lines between reality and illusion, Fiona must confront her deepest desires and make a choice between the life she knows and the one she dreams of.

"Fated" is a tender exploration of vulnerability and guilt, centered around themes of trust and personal growth. It delves into the sacrifices made for love, the journey of self-discovery, and the process of healing from past wounds. Ultimately, it's a story about embracing one's fate and finding solace in acceptance, while also learning to be compassionate towards oneself and forgiving of past mistakes.

While Fiona's resilience is admirable, it's Aaron who steals the spotlight with his unwavering devotion and genuine love for her. Sarah Ready's talent for crafting lovable characters shines through, and Aaron's steadfast presence tugs at the heartstrings from the moment he enters the narrative. As the series progresses, anticipation builds for the next installment, with readers eagerly awaiting a resolution for Max's story.

"It’s not as if dreams are reality. It’s not as if dreams come true. But . . . What could it hurt to try?" If you've read Ghosted and Switched, then you are familiar with Daniel's sister, Fiona Abry. What you don't know if how Fiona found true love, complete with sparks! Fated takes place before Ghosted and is the reason for the infamous shirtless Daniel ad from Ghosted (iykyk.)
Fiona has closed herself off from love, it's not worth the hurt. But if you fall in love in your dreams it can't hurt you, can it? But what if that love could be real? What if the man of your dreams could be a reality?
If you fell in love with Ghosted and Switched then you know Sarah Ready brings a special magic to this series and helps us to imagine a world where love finds us in the most unexpected ways.

Fated is a very different and unique story. I liked It as a whole. I really wanted to know how it would end, which made it hard to put it down. But there were also a few things that bothered me, such as who she is in the dreamworld and the fact that she didn't look him up earlier.
That being said, I still liked it a lot, and I'm looking forward to the next book and to see how Max lovestory turns out.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for the opportunity to read this book.

I loved the original plot. I’m not a fan of the story within the story and dream sequence. I tried this as a step out of my comfort zone. The writing is great, but I wasn’t the right reader for this book.

Sarah Ready is an automatic read author for me. Her previous two books in this series, Ghosted and Switched, have both been 5 star reads for me. Sarah Ready has a way with words that truly makes you feel as though you are in the pages of her books. If a book comes out, you better believe I am going to read it. Having this on NetGalley as a Read Now has made my day! If you have not picked up a Sarah Ready book yet, I highly recommend picking one up. Excited to give this one a read. Thank you NetGalley and Sarah Ready! Also, the colors / covers for each of her books are so colorful and fun. I love the art work!

Title: Fated by Sarah Ready
Release Date: July, 16th, 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stars

Fiona Abry leads a busy life managing her family's Swiss watch company, leaving little time for romance or vacations. However, when she inherits a family heirloom rumoured to grant wishes in dreams, Fiona finds herself transported to a tropical paradise every night.

In her dream life, Fiona is married with children, residing in a colourful beach cottage—a stark contrast to her urban reality. Embracing this alternate reality, Fiona indulges in idyllic activities like swimming in turquoise waters and stargazing on the beach.

As her feelings deepen for her dream husband and life, Fiona grapples with the realisation that it's all a fantasy. She must confront the dilemma of falling in love with a life and a man that exists only in her dreams.

Ultimately, Fiona must reconcile her desires with reality, understanding that while the dream may be alluring, it's not a substitute for the complexities of real life and love.

"Fated" is a whirlwind of emotions, exploring vulnerability, guilt, trust, and growth through Fiona's journey of self-discovery. It's a tale of love and sacrifice, urging readers to embrace fate while learning to forgive themselves for past missteps.

But amidst Fiona's struggles, it's Aaron's unwavering love that truly shines. Despite Fiona's complexities, Aaron's devotion remains unwavering, making him a character to root for.

Sarah Ready's storytelling effortlessly transports readers into Fiona's dreamscape, weaving past and present seamlessly. It's a captivating journey that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

There aren’t words to describe this book. The story is so breathless, it feels like you’re also dreaming with the main character, Fiona. Even though, the story takes you back and forth between present and past, it’s never confusing and the suspense while relating a beautiful love story is always present. I can’t wait for Max and then Daniel’s stories.

The story tells the journey of a capable, and intelligent woman, who feels her life is missing the magic and sparks of a person who she can love and who also would love her in return.
When Fiona receives a lost heirloom as a gift from her less than dependable mother, she decides to go along and try to find the answer she is being looking for so long.

All the characters in tris story are so lovable that you just hope to see them in other stories. It was hard to say goodbye at the end. I can’t wait for “Wished”.

I just reviewed Fated by Sarah Ready. #Fated #NetGalley

Ghosted is truly my favorite series Sarah Ready has ever written and each book consistently just keeps on getting better and better. Fated is book three in the Ghosted series and it follows Fiona, Daniel’s sister, and Aaron, a mysterious man she encounters in her dreams. Fiona Abry is the CEO of Abry Watch Company, a family owned Swiss watch company she and Daniel inherited from their late father. Fiona closed herself off from love after being abandoned by people she trusted the most. When Fiona’s mom gives her a family heirloom that has been missing years ago and tells her that not only did she steal the watch but that it can make dreams come true and show what your hearts desire. Skeptical but curious, Fiona decides to use it one night after recounting her family members telling her to find herself and to open herself up to love again. There in her dreams, Fiona comes in contact with a man named Aaron who is apparently her husband and they have two children together. As Fiona grapples between reality and fiction, she has to decide which life she’s willing to choose.

Fated is by far the most tender-hearted in the series. There is so much vulnerability and guilt throughout the book. Fated is story about trust and growth. It’s about the sacrifices of love, rediscovering yourself again and learning how to heal. It’s about accepting the outcome of one’s fate and allowing it to happen in order to overcome future trials and tribulations. But most of all, it’s a story of learning how to be gentle with yourself and learning how to overcome your fears by giving yourself leniency and reprieving your past mistakes.

While I loved Fiona’s resilience and vulnerability, it was Aaron that I fell in love with while reading this book. He is the epitome of a man whose love is steadfast and unwavering. His love for Fiona was devoted and genuine even when he was getting whiplashed from Fiona’s constant switch in behavior and personality. Sarah Ready writes characters that are easy to fall in love with and my heart went straight to Aaron the moment he was introduced in the book. With that being said, I am absolutely ecstatic for the next book in the series because I so desperately wanted a happy ending for Max.

Thank you so much NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

*3.5 stars

I’m a huge fan of this series by Sarah Ready. You couldn’t pry me away from the first two novels. This one however…I had some mixed feelings about it.

I was so conflicted by this one. I don’t want to name any specifics because they are spoilers, but I’ll give it a go. I didn’t like who Fiona became in her dream world. I mean her heart is great but the whole scenario made me upset (and I felt terrible for Aaron) but I eventually figured out what Ready was doing and understood why this was happening.

I disliked how this takes place before the first and second book, so we do briefly see Daniel with other women. I wasn’t a fan of that.

I felt so bad for Max. I love him and my heart broke for him. I’ll leave it at that, but I’m happy the next novel is about him.

I did like all the side characters - Amy was so smart; Sean was just plain old cute; and the towns folk were funny.

I did really enjoy the last 15% of the novel when everything came together. The whole shooter thing is still confusing to me. BUT it was a great ending.

Overall, just an okay novel, but I am still a fan of Ready and will be reading her books in the future.

Fated
Ghosted
Switched

The third magical rom/com in the series. Fiona is too busy to do anything with her love life. She's given a heirloom that would let her dream her greatest desire. Then she starts spending her nights on a tropical island as a happily married woman with 2 kids. Will the magic last?

It's a stand-alone but I love the mentions of characters in the earlier books. The characters are terrific. They are likable and charming. The plot is magically sweet. Really enjoy the entire series.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for providing this book, with my honest review below.

Fated was a great fantasy romance novel, and I loved its characters as well the underlying mystery around whether Fiona’s dreams at night about Aaron, the island, and his kids were just pure fantasy or fact. The tail end of this really made it as it adds some tragedy and adventure to the sweet plot.

Fiona has a charmed life but something is definitely missing for her. When her ancestor's pocket watch is purported to deliver her her greatest desire in her dreams she is shocked to be dreaming she is Becca, a women living on a small island off the coast of Brazil with her husband, Aaron, and her two children. But is Aaron real and is this type of life attainable for Fiona? At first I was a little confused on how this would all come together as a romance, given Fiona is dreaming as Becca. But it does and I loved the wrap up.

It looks like Sarah Ready has other books similar to this in the fantasy romance space and I am eager to check them out as this was sweet and the perfect amount of uniqueness to set it apart.

If you are looking for an escape from the every day, this book might be the read for you. I started this book last night, and have not been able to put it down! I was pulled into a story that immediately transported me away, with magic, love, and so much imagination. After a tragedy, Fiona’s mother pays her a visit and brings with her a storied family heirloom. Fi is transported to a dream world, where she is living a VERY different life than she lives as an executive in the family business. Torn between her dreams and reality, she is trying to find the best life for her and her daughter in the real world.

I can’t say enough about this book - I loved every minute, though I wish we had gotten a little more at the end, before the epilogue. It was so good, and this is a book that now is listed among my favorites.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley; all opinions are my own.

I love the cast of characters in Fated so much and I think you will too. Do yourself a favor, go read Fated and then everything else Sarah has written. I loved this book so damn much.

I started this book IMMEDIATELY because I was so excited. The thing I will say is that Sarah Ready’s ideas are next level. She is the QUEEN of good book ideas. Unfortunately though she’s usually a huge hit or a huge miss for me. And I just felt like this one was lacking something. It was a LOT of details. It felt like the story wasn’t flowing. But hey anytime I see a Sarah Ready book I’ll be reading it!
