I received an eARC for my honest opinion.
If you like books with small town romance, grumpy meets sunshine (kinda), enemies to lovers, open door romances, grief, self-discovery, and sexy Irish men… then this book/audio is one that you will have to read.
I love Ireland, when I went there, I just fell in love with the country, the people, the small towns, everything. So, when I saw this book, I had to give it a try and I am so happy that I did because wow I loved it. In this book you will meet Cordelia and Niall, Cordelia needs a break away and to have some time to herself to rediscover her love photos and to understand more about herself, and what she wants in life. Niall, he just got heartbroken and lost his investment all in one go, he is not happy that he will be traveling back to his small town again but is happy that he will be there to help his family. These two strangers from different places in the world met and instantly hated each other, but over time and with a growing friendship they helped each other heal their hearts and souls.
I loved this plot, and the author did a great job of making sure that the readers really do get to vision the beauty of Ireland with her attention to details. I liked the pace; it was fast and easy. The tension between the characters I really could feel it, and then the chemistry between them you felt. I loved the banter with the side characters as well. This book really was well developed with the plot and the characters. I thought the characters’ development throughout the book was great, you won’t change the page and they’re magically all better but throughout the book you will see it on every page. I won’t lie and say that there wasn’t a dramatic scene or two in the book, but it just added to the romcom, because we all know romcoms all have them in them. Their growth, their own journeys, will leave you rooting for them as individuals but at the same time as a couple. It was wrapped up beautifully and I wouldn’t have changed it.
I received the audio of this book, and the narrators did a fantastic job with this book. I felt as though I was right there with the characters and experiencing everything with them. I could listen to these narrators again in any other book.
I want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to review this audio.

I felt like this book had potential, however it really fell flat for me. I think the characters were a bit one dimensional despite each of them having something deeper going on behind the scenes. The instalove of it all was a bit bothersome and the reason for the third act breakup didn't make a ton of sense and I feel as if their getting back together also wasn't that logical or romantic.
The setting was neat and I think that more books should be set in Ireland. I also enjoyed the narrators, minus when the male narrator would voice female characters. He was a bit too breathy and wistful (in a bad way) about it all for my liking.
Overall, I think I would have DNFed if I did not have the audio to fall back on,

3.5 rounding up. I listened to "The Irish Goodbye" by Amy Ewing, the narration, especially the correct pronunciation of Irish names, was a highlight, although I couldn't spell them if I tried, lol. The story of second chances at love and healing after parental loss was touching, and Niall and Cordelia were adorable, complemented by engaging side characters. While I felt the third act breakup added extra drama- I didn't feel like it was entirely necessary, the overall narrative remained touching and enjoyable.

A story about found family, overcoming loss, and enemies to lovers.

A beautiful cover.
Cordelia and Niall were great characters and the narrators for the audiobook were wonderful. Absolutely loved the side characters of Nialls family
I did not love the ending or the rushed epilogue
Definitely recommend for readers who want a quick summer romance read.
I mean who couldn't love an Irish MMC.
Thank you to Netgalley, Amy Ewing and Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ARC audio in exchange for my honest review.

Brokenhearted after the sudden death of her father, Cordelia seeks to find comfort and healing on an extended trip abroad to Ireland for the summer. A stalled photographer, she's hoping that a trip to the island will reinvigorate her passion for her craft and revive her zeal for life.
Unfortunately, she bumps into a grumpy local as soon as she lands on the island, rendering her camera broken and her outlook on her quest bleak.
Will the cranky elderly women she was hired to assist even come to the door? Will the rude local man who caused her camera to break prove to be more than meets the eye?
This is a light read, with loveable characters and beautiful descriptions of the landscape. I found myself wanting to book a trip to Inishmore myself! The romance is a bit too steamy for my personal taste, but if you're okay with some spicy sex scenes, this was otherwise a great read.
The audiobook narration was great- my only complaint was that with the dual narrators, the male voice actor's voice when impersonating a woman was pretty irritating.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The Irish Goodbye is a feel-good romance that deals with grief and loss.
Cordelia is mourning the loss of her father and finding herself without her usual knack for creativity in her career. To reset herself, she travels to Inishmore Island to stay in a cottage for 3 months and keep an eye on a local’s grandmother while she stays.
Amy Ewing did a lovely job on the descriptions of Inishmore and the residents, I really felt the warmth and joy emanating from them. The imagery of the scenery was so evocative, this could be the world’s best travel advertisement! Not to mention Róisín was an absolute delight, she was that sassy, gritty grandma we all need in our lives.
Where this lost me was the lack of emotional connection between Cordelia and Niall. Although they spoke of their connection and the characters themselves were well developed, I think the novel lacked some scenes to build that bond between them. They seemed to go from 0 to 100 and it felt so rushed that the third act breakup basically gave me whiplash.

I was not a big fan of this enemies to lovers romance. It is my favorite troupe and with the setting being in Ireland I thought it would be perfect. I will say I did love the crazy old neighbor. She was super feisty and full of life. I didn't enjoy the story of Niall being the let down son to his parents. As someone who has lost their dad at a young age, I can relate to Cordelia's grief and how she experienced it. The romance between Cordelia and Niall happened very quickly and seemed odd. Didn't enjoy the third act break-up either. I think both narrators did a good job, but the male narrator seemed to have issues voicing female characters which was kind of strange. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my ALC of this story which will release on 6/4/24.

Fans of the grumpy/sunshine romance trope will find their next five-star read in "The Irish Goodbye" by Amy Ewing. Ewing vividly brings a small Irish island to life with a host of lovable characters who capture our hearts. The heroine, Cordelia, is a quintessential New York City fish out of water on Inishmore, where she unexpectedly collides with the brooding Niall. Balancing touching moments with humor, "The Irish Goodbye" is the perfect summer read for those who enjoy Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry.

Cordelia is struggling to pick her life back after after the sudden death of her father. Niall was hurt in love, and a business venture. Cordelia decides to apply for a summer job taking care of a little cottage in Inishmore, as a way to step out of New York and try and find her footing again. Niall returns to his parents' house and pub in Inishmor. Tensions go back and forth, with a sweet story unravelling.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

4 stars!
"The Irish Goodbye" by Amy Ewing is a wonderful, cute, emotional book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. While it can be frilly and fun at times, it also has a lot of mature, serious undertones to it. It has a lot to say about grief and moving on, about loss and second chances (in love AND in life). I enjoyed the main female character, Cordelia, who lives in New York City and jumps at the chance to flee to Inishmore, Ireland for a summer gig so she can reconnect to her life and soul after the loss of her father. I also loved Niall, a grumpy chef who has had his life and everything in it snatched from under him after multiple simultaneous heartbreaks at the hands of the same person. At first, you really don't like Niall at all. He is brusk, curt, and a bit of a jerk, but second chances are such that his grumpiness is explained away, so you see his point of view and come to understand what made him standoffish and made him have his walls up so high. You feel for both of them. Niall's world has crashed down around him, and he must heal from his losses. Cordelia, who has a lot of internet success with her photography, feels disconnected and untethered after her dad's death. As they embark on their own healing journeys, they find solace in each other where they once saw only the worst in one another. Cordelia and Niall also rediscover their passion and love for photography and cooking, respectively, as they fall in love with each other. There's quite a lot of complexity in this book! The romance aspect takes its time to get going, but I enjoyed Cordelia and Niall's journey from enemies to lovers. It's sweet, and often bittersweet, but frequently swoon-worthy. The travel and wanderlust aspects here are excellent as well. You really get the sense of the community of Inishmore and the country of Ireland, from the people to the weather to the customs and connections. All of the secondary characters are well-written and don't feel like random characters who come and go as they please. They are integral to the plot and to Niall and Cordelia's stories. Finally, Keval Shah and June DeBorahae bring these characters to life in a terrific, believable way. I loved the dual narration, especially from Shah! A wonderful little book that I encourage you to read!
Thank you to NetGalley, Amy Ewing, and Dreamscape Media for the complimentary ALC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

This was a delightful romance book! I loved the setting and all of the characters of the small Irish town. I thought the plot was well done and the pacing was good throughout the entire book. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrators, they both did a fabulous job at bringing the story to life. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5⭐️
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had the best time listening to the audiobook. The writing was lucid and the characters were 3D and had a lot of depth. I loved Cordelia and Niall and their connection.
The writing was so immersive, I felt transported to another land. The character development towards the end of the book was so well done. It was an emotionally satisfying book.
The romance and their companionship were top-notch and had me loving every second of it! The third act breakup and makeup seemed a bit rushed to me.
The book deals with some descriptions of grief and life after loss. Those parts hit me very deep and I could relate to a lot that Cordelia felt and thought during the time. I loved the ending and the epilogue as well and was so emotionally satisfied throughout the book. But I did wish that the epilogue was a bit more richer. But it did not take away from the overall feel of the book.
This book made me want to travel to Ireland with its picturesque writing.
The audiobook was narrated by Keval Shah and June DeBorahae and they were exceptional. The narration and enunciation were emotive and enriched the experience of listening to the book.
An absolutely must pick up for all the love, self-discovery, spice and emotional growth contained within. Looking forward to reading more by the author.
I received an ALC of the Audiobook. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you to Netgalley, the Author and the Publisher for providing an ALC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the synopsis I knew I wanted to read this book! I actually loved the narrator’s of the audiobook, it was so good! I loved the dual POV. The only thing I didn’t like was third act breakup (just a personal thing) Enemies to lovers, found family, small town.

The Irish Goodbye is a romance about Cordelia, an American grieving the loss of her father, who decides to work for the summer in Ireland. There she meets Niall, who recently returned to his hometown after his fiancée cheated on him.
I really loved all the side characters in his novel, especially Róisín. I also enjoyed the main couple, but felt that their relationship was pretty rushed. It went from them being enemies to in love extremely quickly. The ending also seemed rushed, but for the most part I did enjoy the story.
I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed both Keval Shah and June DeBorahae. I didn’t love when Keval did female characters voices, but I don’t often like that in books so that isn’t strictly an issue with this one.
Overall I did like the story and would try reading more from this author in the future.

This was such a cute and spicy romance! The Ireland setting was AMAZING and sounds so peaceful. The supporting characters were darling, as well as Pocket! The main characters did not meet on great terms but boy did that change! Love cures heartbreak in this one! The spice scenes were perfect. The accents were 5 stars! One of the negative thing is that the epilogue was the next day....booooo. I need so much more than that with this lovely couple!

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance

-Grump x Sunshine

It’s hate-at-first-sight when a jilted Irish chef returns home to Inishmore and immediately clashes with a mouthy American tourist.
Cordelia James is an American street photographer struggling to find purpose in life/work after her father’s sudden death. She stumbles across an ad for a summer caretaking job at a cozy cottage in Ireland. She immediately seizes the opportunity, hoping that this change of scenery will be exactly what she needs to get back on track. Shortly after stepping foot on Irish soil, a accidental collision with a grumpy strange ends with her beloved camera (a gift from her father) broken in the aftermath. Niall O’Connor is back in his hometown nursing a broken heart (and broken dreams) after finding out that his fiancé has been cheating on him. It’s not long before their paths cross again, and Cordelia realizes that he is the same man that broke her camera.
I had such a fun time with this! It was super cozy and atmospheric, the perfect type of book to pick up this summer. While this did get fairly spicy the end, I would still say that this felt borderline women’s fiction at times. I’d highly recommend this to anyone that has enjoyed authors like Abby Jimenez or Beth O’Leary in the past. I absolutely loved all of the side characters (except one of course). I loved how smitten Niall and Cordelia were with each other despite their rocky start. While the 3rd act conflict was a little frustrating of course, I respected that both of their actions were done with the best intentions and it didn't take long for them to communicate with each other. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed this as much without them to be honest.
I’d highly recommend picking this up on audio if you do plan on adding this to your TBR. The narrators did a great job of capturing everyone’s voices/personalities. And let’s be honest…the Irish accents made it that much more atmospheric.
CWs for loss of a parent, infidelity, strained familial relationships
Story: 4/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Keval Shah & June DeBorahae)
Length: 10h3min

Cordelia is a successful photographer, but after her father died, she goes into a depressive episode. She doesn’t do much photography until she sees an ad for a summer job at an Irish cottage. She decides to book a flight and head to Ireland. She literally runs into Niall, a grumpy local chef, while getting settled into her new town. Niall was recently cheated on, so he’s a skeptic. Their lives intertwine, but will they make it work?
Enemies to lovers trope that everyone seems to love! Overall, was a cute romcom!
Thanks to Net Galley, Dreamscape Media, Alcove Press, and Amy Ewing for the ARC! Pub date 6/4/24

I loved the quick witty banter between Niall & Cordelia they made me fall inlove with them. It was a cutesy romantic comedy and I loved the fact it was set in Ireland

Cordelia is in Ireland trying to pick herself back up off of her feet after the passing of her father. Once a famous street photographer, she’s hoping to find that love and passion for photography again.
But after literally bumping into Niall O’Connor which in turn breaks her camera, her little getaway has started off on the wrong foot and she’s homesick at every turn.
Cordelia never would’ve imagined that she’d be seeing the camera breaking grumpy Irishman everywhere as well. She also couldn’t have predicted the intense feelings she developed as she got closer with his family and the other townies.
I had the pleasure of getting an ARC audiobook and can I just say??? THOSE ACCENTS 🤌 so amazing. Usually you can very much tell that an accent is being played up but I truly couldn’t even guess where the narrators were really from.
Thank you Amy Ewing and Dreamscape Media for the ARC

I enjoyed this audiobook more than I thought I would. It took me a minute to get into the story and at times the narrators' doing other characters' voices were cringey. The story, though, was fantastic.
I really liked Cordelia and Niall. They started off on the wrong foot, but the chemistry was there. Maybe a bit of a slow burn, but the spice was done so well.
The small knit community in Ireland was everything I wanted.
I was a little annoyed at the 3rd act breakup though. I always hate when one or the other breaks it off 'because it's best for the other.'
Keep in mind this is 3rd person dual pov, so if that's not your thing, maybe skip it.
